One of the absolute gems hardly anyone reacts to. At last! 😍 I'm not quite sure what this song is supposed to mean, but I suppose it's a more interpretive one. Matt's talking about putting his faith into someone and being left alone. Heartbreak, I guess. It's a perfect ending track. This song's real magic in the outro is how well it loops back around to the very beginning of the album, the song Waking the Fallen. That cuts into Unholy Confessions, of course. The transitions are pretty great throughout WTF even though the songs are so complete by themselves. Everything just works. I personally really love the punk rock Avenged Sevenfold songs. There aren't many, but they're amazing when they come around. Streets and Runaway are definitely great destinations for songs more like this. As always, I'm super excited to experience this with you! @@BetterEveryDayKZbin I love the depth he had to his tone in this period. On City of Evil, you can kinda hear how the vocal damage from screaming affected him in 2004 even though he had learned how to control himself better, and he didn't fully have this power back until 2006 after City of Evil was out. Matt's said he regretted being signed to Warner Bros and made to put out a record so early in 2005, but it all worked out. This was how he sounded before the first blood blister, and is probably the best representation of the pre-surgery, all-natural sound of his voice without any of the coloration from nasal technique. Zacky and Syn have never fully left this style behind, which is wonderful because it's an amazing style, but the way they've adapted it and made it more nuanced over the years is definitely rewarding. What I like about them having Brooks on drums nowadays is that Jimmy's playing here is basically the way Brooks was playing in Bad Religion. Portnoy and Ilejay were great, but the energetic punk flair is what I associate with Avenged Sevenfold's primary sound, ballads and epics aside, and definitely up there with guitar harmonies. The difference here is the thick guitar chug you noticed. Very Metallica or Bad Religion, and perfect for the Warped Tour crowd. They didn't play it, unfortunately. I love this song because of how varied it is even on Waking the Fallen. The first two albums have more similar-sounding songs than other records, but this one is so crisp and clean compared to the groovy and downright aggressive tracks, and that solo is unexpected chaos. IWSYT Part 1 and Unholy Confessions are my favorites on the album, but it comes in close behind.

Hahaha....That ending was fun, just like a dying battery in a walkman cassette player. I love the age old rock/metal seductive guitar present in many thousands of good songs. The gentle sections really add to the heaviness of the main song, and do so effectively.

8:11 this part actually on they waking the fallen demo outro part. Waking the fallen demo have intro later become beast and the harlot intro, the outro became this song outro.

@@bobbywiththattool8797 The song Waking the Fallen: Resurrected's piano part, mid-section, and outro made it into Beast and the Harlot, Waking the Fallen, and And All Things Will End. It was originally a demo for the album. Check it out and this comment will make more sense.

Might be a controversial opinion, but this album in particular has alot of similarities with the classic rock band, Boston. The dual guitar harmonies are instantly recognizable in both and drive the melody.
