Yeah people Betty had a boyfriend who she was taking trip to Mexico among other places......Her settlement was not enough....650k beach front home, 16k per month until she remarried a jaguar, a surburban and a condo. She was childless, bcuz she kicked all of her children out, not because he wanted custody....She said during the trial she wasn't going to be a single mother....this woman is pure evil

Brad wrote Betty numerous letters to her in prison before he married! Betty took him on many lavish trips before the murders, what's he all pissed about!? He had access to her checking account after she went to jail until the money ran out! Now he seems to be embarrassed because he was dating Betty back then? He was just using Betty...

@Freddie an Brenda Bussh did you not hear her describe him while on the witness stand as her dog only he was trained? Crawl, evil, disgusting woman with no respect for anyone, not her kids, and herself. She wanted a companion dog then she had to pay for it. Isn't that what we do with our pets. He thought he was in a relationship with a woman fighting for her kids. She conned and manipulated everyone. Y'all need to stop thinking she is the victim and poor her. From the beginning, she married him and invested willing because she saw he was going to be somebody. That means with or without her so she hitched her wagon. But throughout the marriage, she always had put-downs, insults, fights. There was never love and he worked part-time, got financial aid, and had student loans that he paid. She contributed to food, rent, so on that's what married couples do but they love each other and are supportive not always telling one they're a failure. When his career took off she became worse. No one absolutely no one has to put up with that abuse, she would dig her nails into his arms. Is that he as a man must put up with the abuse because he's a man but women can not be treated that way. If she would not have started from the beginning of the separation doing creepy criminal acts and instead dealt with the divorce peacefully she would have gotten 50% of everything but she screwed herself and continued. Everybody has a right to be with who they want and she drove him away with her abuse. She was relentless with her constant vulgar calls which would make the person at the receiving end of that bombardment of harassment and vulgarities not resist to say things to were they supposed to be complete angels? Dan at the very end 3 days before death gave her custody of the boy's child support that she wanted everything the house in La Jolla was hers cause she was selling it he just had his lawyer contact her lawyer asking to just leave them alone she gets what she wants but then that was no good because she would no longer have any motive or excuses to continue contacting him. It was completely over. She got what she wanted but that infuriated her even more because she wanted to have excuses to stay active in their lives harassing and not letting them live in peace so she simply did not let them live. It's ridiculous how women compare their marriage break up to this and because theirs went bad assume Betty just like they was the victim. gees

Just saying Dan's biggest "sin" was training in Betty's fat ass for Linda's sweet beautiful ass. She payed his way through two schools and made his success possible during her “best years”. He was never around for the kids and barely at home. She was essentially a single parent with no life outside of being a wife and mother. Then he has an affair with a woman who looked exactly like her but younger and gaslights her and lies about it. And proceeds to rip her life from under her, blocks her from any good representation, and takes the kids. Their friends side with him (because of his status im sure). I think her sanity was lost and I can very clearly see why.

Shooting rampage? She went to one house, into one bedroom, to kill two people that made her life hell and caused her to literally snap. That's hardly a shooting rampage. @@lashondacheatham5540 That is no where even close to true. What do you think PTSD is? Soldiers don't go into war with their minds screwed up, they experience trauma then they come out with their mind all screwed up. Same goes for many other traumas, domestic abuse, rape, child molestation, etc. Be gaslighted enough, emotionally and psychologically abused enough times... You'll GO crazy. I know from experience and trust me the thought crossed my mind. Only difference is I tried and almost succeeded at taking my own life instead. I am no where near the person I was then. The only time I get a glimpse of the "crazy" I was back then it's when I have a flashback then a panic attack. She was very much an abused woman. That doesn't mean it's ok what she did but he's not the first man who made a woman go crazy.

@rikkihurt
@rikkihurt 3 жыл бұрын
@@haintedhouse2990 Don't be ridiculous. No one said it was polite, polite wasn't even a word I used. I simple said it wasn't a shooting rampage - that's the most absurd use of words to describe what happened here. It wasn't an unprovoked, uncontrolled rampage. She was an abused woman that lost her mind because that time period gave women ZERO rights and he was a cunning and vindictive man who cheated on his wife, made her feel crazy and then married said woman 20 years his junior. Rampage implies she ran all over town shooting everyone, that did not happen, she went to one specific place for one specific reason. She did deserve to pay for her crime, not as long as she has, but she definitely deserved some time in prison. The meaning of rampage: (especially of a large group of people) rush around in a violent and uncontrollable manner. a period of violent and uncontrollable behavior, typically involving a large group of people. This did not happen. A simple search of the definition will show that this video inaccurately described what actually happened.

I’m watching the Betty Broderick Netflix special for the second time on Netflix. I’ve seen a woman scorn of Lifetime multiple times as well. I love Betty and I feel for her. Us woman can love hard and put our whole life into a man just to be discarded , used . Treated like nothing. Dan used Betty for stability and person gain. Got where he wanted to be in life and once again thought about self and what was next to add to his list to make him a happier man. All Dan did was sow into his flesh. The Bible tells us to sow into the flesh we will reap destruction. He wasn’t a man of God so he was not concerned with trying to learn how to love Betty. I don’t feel bad for Dan and Linda at all.

I know Betty put her family thru alot but she destroyed herself and her children. Didn't even stop ONCE about what this would do to her children. @Liz Muschinski As for me, I absolutely do not condone what Betty Broderick did. But on the other hand, I have to admit, I do feel sympathetic towards her in what she perceived as her loss. The movies always portrays Dan and Linda as saints... when they most certainly were not. A fair portrayal of their true character's would have worked better. Dan was pulling the wool over Betty's eyes, (gaslighting), having an affair etc. Linda made a conscience decision to step into this relationship with a prominent wealthy man, married, with four young children at home. Dan also kept Betty from receiving decent representation legally because he would call them not to. He knew them all. They bashed her, called her derogatory names right in front of the children (their testimonies). They played a huge part in why she snapped. From Betty's point of view, she gave up her youthful years (and her beauty), she worked at being a housewife, wonderful mother at the time by all accounts, consultant and partner of his while he attended school for two degrees and to become the prominent lawyer he had become. She gave up all opportunities as far as a career goes in support of him. Shouldn't she be compensated fairly in that? She received a settlement of $16,000 a month while Dan brought in a whopping $140,0000 per month. I'm not sure if Linda continued working as well. It was an extremely lopsided settlement for the years Betty put in. Once again, what Broderick did as far as committing murder was 💯 wrong. It's never the answer.... But I believe many women have experienced similar situations and that's why they are much more sympathetic in understanding how Betty felt. After all, Who stole who's life first, and what is the true definition of, "stealing one's life away?" That's all up for interpretation and subjective thinking when it comes to someone who possibly snapped!

I would like to point out to the people who denied her freedom after serving 32 years . she is 73: as its said in Bible the maximum 80 and when she passs away i hope they dont feel the gulit then . i plead to them to allow betty to feel the air at least in this age . if you dont do it now probably you will never be able to . So instead of reciprocating the old help her see the world now .32 years has been a long time . betty is a victim of clear manipulation . if there are rules to determine her crime and then there should be rules to understand the reason of crime . if she was my mother i would have supported her throughout my life . Time is still there for the people to rethink their decission and not regretting it later. love you betty

Wow she was not long out her 30s when she got put away - she’s 73 now and has served over 30 years why can’t she be freed now? This wasn’t some crazy Brandon shooting. She was an upstanding model wide and mother before her lawyer husband gaslighted the hell out of her for several years and used his legal knowledge and connections to slowly mentally and financially destroy and socially isolate her. She was v v wrong to do what she did but really to still have her in prison??!!

all she has to do is show the parole board authentic remorse. she won't do it. she's happier being locked up knowing their both dead. if I was a surviving member of the Kolkena or Broderick families the punishment would fit the crime just fine. she pulled the trigger (5 times) and as a result there's a double homicide. glad she's locked up.

she was getting 16k a month. Money was not an issue. She payed his way through two schools and made his success possible. Their friends side with him (because of his status im sure) I think her sanity was lost and I can very clearly see why.

Honestly, I cannot believe the amount of people who have sided with Betty, it's beyond me. She murdered 2 people in cold blood. Which is bad enough, let alone one person was her children's father. One of the most selfish things she could have ever done. There's just no excuse. It really doesn't matter how hurt she was, that doesn't make killing people okay! The only time it's okay is if it's genuine self-defense. She's lucky she was charged with second degree murder because it was definitely first degree, premeditated.
