Betty demonstrates how to make Cream Cheese Candy for Christmas. This is an easy, never-fail recipe that is bright, colorful, and delicious!
Cream Cheese Candy
3 ounces cream cheese, softened
¼ teaspoon peppermint extract
3 cups confectioner's sugar (This is the same as powdered sugar, or icing sugar.)
green and red food coloring (preferably gel-type)
In a medium to large bowl, beat cream cheese, peppermint extract and 1 ½ cups confectioner's sugar. Slowly stir or knead in the remaining 1 ½ cups confectioner's sugar until mixture is smooth. Divide into 3 equal parts and place each part in a small bowl. To one bowl, add green food coloring. To another bowl, add red food coloring. Leave the third bowl white. Shape each bowl of candy mixture into ½ to ¾ inch balls. Let stand at room temperature 1 hour to set. Place in an airtight container and refrigerate until ready to use. Enjoy! --Betty :)
