I love that he mentioned they’re bad at jamming cause they’re so articulate woulda never guessed that but I can totally see why
@TheLegendofGumby3 жыл бұрын
I completely understand. Of all the bands I’ve ever been in I only knew one guitarist that was comfortable “jamming” it’s kind of like rappers flowing, sometimes they stumble over the words or say dumb shit just to keep it going. You have to be willing to sound like shit every once in a while to actually jam off the cuff.

Really cool interview! It's always interesting to hear about the throught process behind concept albums, and I think Tommy has a point when he said that the second half of a longer album often gets less attention. Also, I didn't mind that it didn't take place in a studio; this felt personal and perhaps more natural than a studio setting would! Great job Tristan!

Backstage interviews usually have quite a different energy because they're in that build-up to the show where they've got to probably wait for a while, then get limbered up and go for it, which can feel a little bit like limbo sometimes - leads to interesting results! It's where the "rockstars losing their minds" thing in Spinal Tap takes all its inspiration from haha

Hey there Lisa! Apologies for not getting back to you until literally just now on this but there are comments that seem to slip through the cracks at times haha Thank you so much for the kind words here, it really does mean the world. Absolutely with you on the intrigue of interviews and understanding concepts - it just gives you a different appreciation for the album. Ah yes, so this was backstage before the band were due to go on and there was a lot happening behind the scenes and we only had a short amount of time with the artist so it was a bit quick but personally I love that kind of thing haha! Thanks again though for the kind words. Really does mean the world and hope that you're excited for Colors II

Hey Skyler! Thanks so much for the kind words, apologies for the late reply, I was trying to stay off social media for a while over Christmas. I'm so glad that you enjoyed the video - I'm a huge fan of BTBAM and personally I love Automata though I have heard that a lot of people are somewhat divided over the record(s). What did you think of it? Thanks again for the support and I hope that you had a lovely Christmas :)

Where did they play?

Chaz Dean At 40 Watt down in Athens GA. It was the date TesseracT and Astronoid had to miss unfortunately, but Lazer/Wulf and Double Ferrari did a killer job filling in. Pretty sick show overall.

Haha thanks so much for the kind words! I wish that we had the time to sit down for a good hour truth be told. We were doing the interview when they played at Shepherd's Bush Empire and the band had to get ready for the set so things were pushed a little bit but we had a great chat that remains one of my favourites for sure. I'm so glad that you enjoyed it my friend! Are you excited for Colors II?

@@TheMetalTris That's awesome, and at least you were able to provide this awesome find out of it. Hopefully you'll be able to get a chance for a followup interview in the future, since there's so much potential to expand the conversation! Heck yes, I was super taken aback for half a second when it was announced and then I became instantly stoked for it more than anything in a long time. Checking out these interviews just to wait it out and trying to get a feel of the headspace of where this new sequel might go! You excited too?

@@enshroudedcloud Thanks so much man! Oh yeah for sure, I can imagine that the anticipation is killing you! In a strange turn of events I now look after the band here in the UK as their PR so I'm actually working with them on Colors II and it's literally been a dream of mine so this is ver y surreal for me. I love this band so much so to be a part of their team really is a dream come true. Colors II is absolutely fantastic! Personally one of my favourite releases of theirs for sure. What else have you been enjoying this year?

Is this in an apartment? Why is there an iron? Great interview, but what's with the location, lol?
@TheMetalTris6 жыл бұрын
Hey Jonathan! First off thanks so much for watching the video my friend and I'm glad that you enjoyed it! In terms of the location, it can be sometimes a little tricky to get these interviews done on the hop. Most of the time we need to do them in the artist dressing room (this one was the case haha) and I've only got a small window of time to set up and clear things away etc... I totally get you that the setting of it is a little weird and trust me if I could I would have a whole studio haha! Most importantly though I'm glad that you enjoyed the content, I try and so thing as professionally as possible but sometimes its just tough with the time constraints haha! Thanks again so much for checking the video out :)

@@ryandlv Thanks so much man! Well in a rather mad turn of events I actually am now on the PR side of things and have been for the last two years working over at a specialist Rock and Metal PR company, and the reason I'm saying this is that BTBAM are actually one of our clients! So NOW I look after BTBAM's PR here in the UK and am currently working Colors II. It's been like a dream come true honestly - I can't get enough of it. It's a real tour de force this album man. I'm sure that you'll absolutely love it! Curious to see what else you've been enjoying this year as well my friend? Heard that new Rivers of Nihil track too?

@@TheMetalTris Dude, that rules so much!!! Congrats on changing roles and getting more inside of the industry and especially for a band you adore so much. Really stoked to hear that! Haha well I will take your word for it, you got me amped now. And yes, The Work is a dope song, watched the music video a few times now and I'm excited for the new album. Glad those guys are getting more noticed. In terms of this year though, I've been enjoying the new Gojira album and waiting for Deafheaven's new release this month! Also got into Fit For an Autopsy lately. Good ass band.
