A driver was arrested after a high-speed police chase through Beverly Hills and the Hollywood Hills. The chase ended when the driver t-boned a bystanders car in North Hollywood.

Because he’s human and anything can happen at any moment, especially with news cameras and adrenaline pumping he did his job. We see a group of cops sometimes in the same situation mess up or do something rash because of all the above. When something has a good outcome and people do their jobs correctly we should encourage it. It’s easy to call out all the mistakes from our digital devices looking at it in hindsight.

I was driving 100 and caught the attention of chp chopper without me knowing I hit 140 then I slowed down to 100 then took my exit was almost home when they shined the light on my tesla which scared the crap outta me litterly didn’t know wtf to do I drove to a gated complex while they kept shining the light found another silver tesla under a carport parked next to it and bailed out my car on foot and hid in bushes. They left me alone after that but the next morning when I checked the Teslacam it actually appeared i was dusting them when I was at 140 but when I went back to 100 they caught back up to me

And even if he has full coverage (idk why he would for that old beater)... they would total the car and give him about $2-3k for it. He's not getting enough money from insurance to buy another car. @@GizmoMaltese Thats the thing about totaling an old beater that was running fine... insurance aint gonna give you shit for it. So, theres not really much sense in carrying full coverage for it. Their valuation of your car is based on current insurance market price, not how well you took care of it or how well it was running. I'm still paying off a 14k repair bill on my '09 Accord cause I got hit by a guy with no insurance in February. Insurance paid nothing. All they wouldve offered is about $4,500 and totaled my car. Not worth it.

Handled it just like any modern large SUV would. It just crashed into the side of a tiny car at moderate speed. If you want a robust car, get a Jeep Wrangler. They are comparable to a battering ram. Not as safe as the Volvo in a serious crash, obviously.

Reckless driving is a Class A misdemeanor and carries a potential sentence of up to 1 year in jail and $6250 in fines. Fleeing an officer carries with it a felony offense, not to mention most of these perps are fleeing because of their existing pending court case ON BOND. he'll be out on bail in a month.

This is why you need more severe penalties for fleeing. Not only should fleeing be a minimum charge, but everything they do during that fleeing should add on to that charge. I suggest a scale. Five years for the fleeing, then specific amount of days for each traffic violation that increases with every offense. All people need to know is that something like this specific fleeing with the speeding, illegal passing, driving wrong way, leaving the scene of an accident, running red lights, it will get you well into double digit amount of years. Is it worth it to flee still? Most people will say no and we avoid stuff like this here. That's me being generous because if it was up to me, this guy would have a permanent jail residence for what he did.
