Lohengrin Theo it sure was. I’ve sampled tons of recordings of this aria. Nobody else I’ve heard articulates the E6s Also how about that jump from low B to high D towards the end?

@@manolis.799 Margaret Price also articulates the three top Es. She is the only singer on record who has satisfactorily sung both this aria and the complete role of Isolde.

@@manolis.799 But her Isolde was for records only, under Carlos Kleiber; she never sang the part on stage. Price is another very underrated artist. She was the greatest Mozart soprano of the last quarter of the XXth century, singing leading roles in each of the seven mature operas. Her Donna Anna for Solti is overall the finest rendition of that role on record, and her Fiordiligi for Klemperer is second only to Schwarzkopf. This recording of Sills is absolutely gorgeous, and reminds me that she kept both Konstanze and Donna Anna in her active repertoire for some years. Such a pity she never recorded either role.

Jason Hurd yes a pity that Callas nor Sutherland nor Sills ever recorded their Konstanze (Sutherland ofc never sang the complete role) Speaking of Klemperer. I suppose I should take this opportunity to mention how much I practically worship his direction of the Brahms Requiem... I posted the third movement here.

@@manolis.799 .... there seems to be some controversity about how they are articulated in the score also. I love the 3 articulations... the score shows the first two E's tied.... I've even heard people only singing one long E....Judith Blegen... for one!
