the more i watch this scene, the more i realize that they rarely ever had scenes like this in the show. where two characters had such an easily free flowing conversation, and not necessarily about anything SUPER important or serious. just enjoying each others company, a very relaxed slow moving scene, with light-hearted dialogue. it's really a perfect scene in so many ways.

This further proved that Dylan knew he messed up cheating with Kelly. He saw how much more free he could be when he's with Brenda than he ever was with whiny and needy Kelly. He had nothing in common with Kelly except for sex, and that isn't a real relationship. It was a mistake based on lust. What he had with Brenda was real love and they both knew it the moment they locked eyes. I just wish Brenda would have gone for it since he wanted her back. They were perfect together.

Brenda grew to knew Dylan better in the few months she knew him, compared to Kelly who knew him since kindergarten. They connected on a much deeper level. Which is one of the reasons Kelly accused Dylan of only being with her because of the way she looks or cause of the sex. And it was like that for years. Claiming to be soulmates, but the minute things got real it never worked.

This sequence is my favorite scene in the entire series. I like simplicity: two slightly lost friends go for a walk together and think about their lives. Above all, I love the powerful bond between them, even more powerful than when they were a couple. I know the Brenda/Dylan heyday is season 2, but I'm glad they broke up and I love their relationship in season 4. Great loves resist everything and always find a way to flourish in a different way. Despite the past, the arguments, the betrayal, they are there, happy together, and above all they trust each other. That's love, not necessarily a relationship that lasts.

i love these scenes with dylan and brenda walking on the pier. feels almost like a classic woody allen movie. the organic chemistry between dylan and brenda is undeniable. no disrespect to the team kelly crowd, but dylan and brenda is the most interesting/best/goat/memorable relationship of the entire 90210 run. to me, dylan and brenda are easily top ten/top five, all time greatest tv couples. i could watch an entire 40 minute episode of dylan and brenda just walking along the pier and talking about traveling to europe, poetry, life, laughing, smiling, reminiscing. there was such an authenticity between them. it didn't feel like they were acting. they just connected so well. you weren't watching luke perry and shannen in these scenes. the acting and chemistry was on such a high level and so good and so natural, that you always feel like you are peaking into this universe where these two people named dylan and brenda live and love each other.

The chemistry between Brenda and Dylan is UNIQUE, PURE MAGIC and noone else can deny that. This scene clearly shows how powerful the connection was between the two of them. It is not a boring relationship at all. It is the most special relationship they could ever had and if Brenda had not left the show, they would have stayed together. The writers of the show have said that they were planning Brenda and Dylan to end up game. It was a twist of fate, but nothing will change the feeling of love they had for each other 🫶🤗😍💗❤️
