Bev breaks down previous episodes in our fourth Bevisode installment! This week, Bev reacts to an engaging slot of recent episodes by discussing her own responses to the callings of waking dreams touched on by Elizabeth Bachner, along with the importance of recognizing when to seek help in the struggle with addiction addressed in Brian Posehn's episode. Later, Bev reminisces about teaching in a women’s prison and the programs she pioneered during her successful career in response to the Sal Khan episode, and shares the sadness and understanding she felt during Wil Wheaton’s revelations about wanting to leave the entertainment industry.

My Mom's health is declining and watching the Bevisodes has really got me thinking that even though doing this with a Mom might be painfully awkward, it could probably be extremely healing. Because of the Podcast, I have been approaching my limited time with my Mom as a laid back "interview". It's been helping me to get to know HER as a PERSON better. I swear, interviewing your Mom is such a brilliant idea. Thank all three of you!!!!

Maybe that's why I like you - we are a very intuitive family with some of our background coming from Jewish eastern European, Latvian and Hungarian, as well as indigenous Mohawk Kanewake - my Hungarian mother was not only intuitive but also read yes leaves; myfather and his brother's daughter are also very intuitive. I have taken workshops for psychic mediumship and shamanism to improve my awareness of my ability - my daughter, son, and my daughter's daughter are highly intuitive. Your mother's story struck a similar note - I am connected to my adult daughter so much, that when she had a c- section 12 stories above us where we were waiting for hours, I felt and knew exact time the baby was removed from her body!

This is the episode I didn't know I needed. I feel like an old soul; I'm also deeply empathic and a twin. I feel like there are different things that we cannot quantify, yet I'm also a realist and at times cynical. The melting pot of the human experience, in a Bevisode. Thank you everyone this has been enlightening.

For lack of a better term, I referred to this in our family as Hungarian gypsy (my mother’s family is all Hungarian). My maternal grandmother, my mother, myself and my daughter are/were all very intuitive and could sense or feel things before it happened.

I’m going to send to Bev & Mayim (though I feel that the only one using it if so is Jonathan) my T-shirt. I’ts pinted there in my Catalan language “We’re the grandaughters of the witches you were not able to burn” regarding to the thousand of wise women, mystical ones, healers, empathic women with special spiritual powers that infamous Spanish Inquisition burnt alive as witches in Catalonia, fearing that their powers threatened the patriarchy & Church ruling powers. I myself, not being from Hungarian but Catalan origin, had experienced three times in my life as Bev felt with her arm and her mom. Twice it were not serious accidents (one on head by sport practice, another a car crash) of two beloved ones. I felt that sonething were not going well sonehow..The third, but the first one in my experience, were in my late teens, when suddenly I felt as if my back neck hurt immensely without reason. I was feeling in Barcelona the sudden death by a bike crash of my beloved uncle Juan in Michigan, US. The cause of the death as autopsy told us were a fracture & medula section of the axis level due to helmet pressure. One hour later, my aunt Maureen called notifying us her husband’s death. I felt myself threatened and overwhelmed by this then. Witchery? Of course not. It must be the science’s part we still don’t know. The still unknown powers of our magnificent brain and of those people, maybe because being more empathic or feeling more intensely than others, who are able “to feel” them. As the feeling of “having been there before” to a place you’ve never been... Or maybe I am too an “old soul” as Mayim says, and not only because I’m a soon-to-be young grandma...😉. But one thing I’m certain of: Had I lived in the late Middle Age and Renaisance eras in my country, and I’d had ended on the 🔥bonfires... But in these days I ended at a creative proffession as architect is that needs deep connections with people who are clients. Just curious, right? Thank you Beverly, Mayim and Jonathan for this precious gems 💎that are all and everyone of the #BialikBreakdown #Bevisodes (Google TT by the way💜!!)

Ok, what do I start off with. The phrase " inappropriately connect with people's emotions" hit home to me so hard. My face turned stark white and two people asked if I was ok. I don't know what to do with that information but finally it was correctly assigned a label made me feel a bit better. Second the concept of indigo children was brought up to me also, but I'm 53 and by hearing different people talk about this subject. I thought they had explained it to the point of crystal children came in generational sets. I am an empath. I do feel and just know about people's feelings and had spent most of my life trying to help and make others happy. Topping it all off, when you live in the deep south, speaking about stuff like this sends you to the crazy ward really quick. Always enjoy your show Thanks for doing this.

You both have an interesting show, so I will keep listening in and watching. Along the lines of Bev sharing about the connection with her mom having a stroke, there is a book. The book titled, "Does the soul survive by Rabbi Elie Kaplan Spitz. He has stories about people having connection feelings or knowing about someone either died or was about to. Regarding feeling energy, I found doing Chi Gong practice of siting in a chair with palms facing each other. Sit up straight, elbows bent forward with palms about a foot apart. Focus on the middle of both palms where your ring fingers can touch the middle of your palm. Close your eyes and move your palms in and out as if you have a beach ball between your hands. I will hopefully get a Jewish meditation book Mayim recommend by Aryeh Kaplan. I have Hungarian heritage as well, but I get more things from dreams. There are other gifts too. I am very open to those things.

So many topics discussed that I can relate to. I do believe that I am an empath and I also have some experiences where I've known or had a sense of things before it transpires. Enlightening to hear other people's experiences and it definitely leads me to believe there are still so much that we don't know. I hope that in our lifetime significant progress will be made in demystifying these experiences.
