excellent video. It hits me hard, as I am divorced, and currently ending a 10-year relationship. I have lived in the Philippines while in the Air Force at Clark (1986-1990). I did get the chance to travel a bit, not just the PH but other Asian countries. I loved my time there and always hoped to get back. Now as I approach my retirement years coming up, I'm just sick of the fast paced culture, politics, and western feminism. Guys that I knew back thqgenm that married Filipinas, are still married to them ov er 30+ years later, and very happy. I missed the boat I guess. Once my dog passes away in the next year or two, I will start my va ton trips overseas, to possibly find why forever home. One thing about the Philippines that I will always remember and carry with me, is the friendly and loving people there. I just don't see that here in the USA anymore. b best wishes to you Aaron and safe travels.

Great video man, I agree it’s not for everyone. For me, the Philippines can be challenging as an introvert because it’s a culture where people are friendly and social and that’s not what I’m accustomed to coming from the US especially where people are usually only nice if they’re trying to sell you something. That being said, there’s a lot for me to learn from the Filipino people. Hope we can meet up if I make it over there while you’re over there.

You do offer some sage advice which I have done myself already - get out and travel! I've been to the Philippines 3 times now (mostly spent in the big cities), but I have a 4th visit planned later this year and the goal is to explore some provinces. The Philippines is a beautiful and intriguing country with very friendly and welcoming people, but inefficiencies, snails pace bureaucracies, bad traffic, and long queues will test your patience. You have to adapt to go with the flow and take things as they come. Best advice I can give for the retired demographic: if you got a lot of health issues to manage, plan on staying in Manila where the good hospitals/doctors are. This isn't a place to live if you have various health issues to manage on a regular basis.

I have been in the Philippines for almost 4 months now and I have to say it’s a beautiful and amazing place but it’s not for everybody, Coming from the US, the culture is different The food is different and the driving is absolutely crazy ! And the dating is very different, You have to deal with cultural differences and even language differences. I know most Filipinos speak some English, but since it’s not their first language, there is a lot of misunderstanding., But you’re right you really need to be here six months before you can decide if it’s what you want to live.

Good insight, in order to be successful and thrive in the PI one really has to embrace the people and culture, and overlook the many obstacles. I spent 3 months there as a young Marine at Subic Bay Naval Station in 1988......and loved every minute of my time there. I think when you get older your perspective will change on many things. I'm a Sigma male so I can thrive anywhere......we must broaden our horizons and not go to the Philippines just for the women and party life. I will be returning this year.

# 1 Reason can be different for everyone ! -- I can see perhaps a majority may be 'lonely' - but that doesn't mean all are ?!? -- I myself am looking for a low cost of living as # 1 for my small SS check - so as to live comfortable ! = Top priority !!! -- Second is warm weather - again to be comfortable. -- After that - English speaking friendly people are required also for comfort with everyday living. -- Are you seeing a trend here ? > "comfort" -- being a priority ? 🤔
