Nice venue. Looks like a cafe straight out of Sarasota Florida. I could see myself retired and happy there. I'm 61yo and divorced so it's pretty much over for the sexual marketplace in America. Maybe I'm find with that but the clock is set and I'll decide in a year. SS plus a fat 401K and I could budget "large" for living there. Kind of hard to imagine leaving all my "stuff" behind 'cept what I can put into 2 suitcases. But what an adventure. And if life gives you that then you are truly blessed. Thanks for all the general talk. It helps me get more comfortable about this big idea.

Of course glad it is helping. Well if you haven't already visited I highly recommend that first. Spend a couple months out in the places you are interested in if you can. Sounds like youre in a great position so I think you'll be alright either way. Good luck 👍

I agree with Phil, your nerves are making you grab at the camera, it’s on a tripod and not moving, it’s a defense mechanism. You need to build some confidence, the viewers watching feel uncomfortable when you feel uncomfortable. If you don’t feel comfortable on camera just interview from behind the camera. You are new, maybe your nerves will clear and confidence build. You are a very tense guy. RELAX best wishes

I just assumed he was doing a live stream and it was chat related. I hate live streams for this sort of reason. The chat is a constant distraction. Anyway, the first time I saw him do an interview style video it was his episode with Paul, old dog new tricks, and I thought for sure he was having battery issues and the thing was trying to go to sleep on him, haha. Well, whatever the case may be just leave the thing be and try to just have a relaxed conversation. I know it's a lot tougher than an actual conversation making it look like one, ironically.

I think your skills at these interview videos is really coming along. I haven't yet seen a lot of them but I think you could have a future in this realm, maybe the next generation of these PI vloggers. If I could offer one bit of constructive criticism, In your videos I have watched it often appears as though you are positioned somewhat in front of your guest/s. It almost looks like you have to loom over your shoulder at them. If you could arrange your position relative to theirs as bit more parallel in depth (distance from camera), if that makes sense, and turn a bit more towards them so you guys look more like you are angled towards one another and less like you are facing the camera, I think that would look more natural and probably improve sound a bit. The audio on this was quite good BTW, though I would also turn up the level so we don't have to turn ours up so far. On many of these videos I have my audio cranked all the way and still want to turn it up a bit more. My philosophy is the audience can always turn it down but can only go up so far. I just like to have a bit more headroom to turn things up if I need to.

I like the "Travel Videos" (you do) and like "Vagabond Awake" puts out amazing quality, informative, useful / practical Info / Content (and it's entertaining "Infotainment") .. So "sick" of Redundant-Stupid (Phil) "Entertainment" Click bait .. I know, 4 mil KZbinrs .. I know you have to "sell it" in a Thumbnail (competition) but.. You answering Mike's questions about your Specific Budget / Traveling (Tips) And Prices is "Great Stuff" .. I'm getting ready, 2025, and "right up my alley" and I'm Sure there's as lot of us Boomers, ready to retire & travel .. $1,500- $2000 a mos is a typical Soc Sec Check (early at 62) budget .. "A lot of us don't Drink" / Party anymore .. The "Come & Move to / Settle- down in Dumaguete (Soap Opera) Mkt" is (ridiculous) Saturated .. Plus you got a Lot of much Younger people traveling these days (maybe on a budget) ..

I take it you've never lived out of your home country? Which makes you, not an expert. In countries I've spent a lot of time in, ex-pats hang out with both other ex-pats and locals. It's normal. In that part of the world people are not so judgy, in my experience. Easy peasy. Be respectful and it's all good.
