I recently got a haircut from my regular place. First time they have been opened since March. They took my temperature with a contactless thermometer. They were very strict about sanitation. Had to wash my hands in front of them. They gave me a new mask and disinfected the chair and their instruments before they started the haircut. They have ten chairs in the shop but only were using three for social distancing purposes. When I went to pay the bill it was one half of the usual price as they were welcoming their customers back! All in all, it was an interesting, enjoyable and inexpensive experience! ♥️🙏🏽🌎 P.S. They said that they will keep charging 50% of the regular price until the "current situation is over". I tipped my hair stylist 3 times as much as usual just because of their incredible service and to help my stylist out in a small way. They have been unemployed for 4 months and now are earning much less than before. I hope everyone does this for anyone who makes most of their pay from tips. 😊

my place has raised their prices and added on a $5 "sanitation charge" + you have to wait outside for your appointment, must wear a mask and they take your temperature before they let you inside. . all salons have to sanitize their combs, scissors etc by law. that is not a COVID thing.
@deborahmerkerson11454 жыл бұрын
@John Symons I read that in the US people are tipping more generously than usual. I’ve only been out a couple of times but I did the same. I was so glad my usual haunts were still operating. Stay safe.

@@anastasia10017 They were using a new sanitizing product and actually advertising it through signage. They were doing much more in regards to what they had done previously. We live in Washington state USA. I have long hair. Just wanted for a straight across the bottom trim to take off split ends. Shopped around. Even at a chain or frachise shop they wanted $25.00. No way. Husband has very nice beard and mustache. He told the female barber to leave the length on his moustache. It took a long time to grow as it is as long as his beard. I helped by grooming and cut it ourselves, his hair too. And what happens? She cut the moustache short on both ends, really short. I almost cried. And we still had to pay her $30.00. Good thing stuff grows back. From now on we will do our own cutting and grooming. And save money too.

Was in iraq less than 3 years ago during a heat wave; well over 108 degrees or more daily for weeks! I went for a long walk and accidentally came upon a humble barber shop. Since my hair had become so long and thick I decided to get my hair cut /styled instead of waiting to do so back in the States. I'm glad I got it cut there. Not only did the barber do a really fine job, the total price, get this , when converted to USA dollars was: 5 dollars! Thank you guys for the informative and educational video presentation. I've been to Norway a few times now so I know how absurdly, outrageously expensive things can be there but 300 to 400 euros , not Kroners , for a haircut and styling is shocking , imo. Take care. I haven't had my hair cut since lockdown. When it ended, I liked that my hair was a little bit longer and I could do more with it. So now my profile picture isn't accurate anymore. But who cares? It seems that at a certain age it is expected that as a woman you have your hair shorter and shorter, (do you are that in Norway as well?) but I don't see why I have to be like everybody else. The prices you mentioned for a womans haircut must include making it blonde, and extensions and other things? Otherwise I don't understand why it has to be that expensive.

I am 52 look 35 ..I have always looked young ...genetics..and I look great with long hair...I don't like short hair on me....I don't like that women think they should cut their hair short just because they are older....

Terrible, that the older women cut their hair shorter and shorter at the age of 30/40. Its for me a typical mom hair cut and I asked myself why they do this??? So, I am a mom but my hair will not become a mom hair ;)

It's a good haircut, not too short. I think you'd look good with it even shorter on top..like a crew cut.

You look as wonderful, as you always do. ☺ The reason it seems too short, m is that it had been such a long time, since you had had a haircut. You're much more engaging, when we can see your eyes. 👀 I hope you shot a video of your restyling adventure. 👍❤

When I was still living in Albuquerque, I took my 7 y/o, blond son to the barber. The barber was Hispanic and not used to working with fine blond hair. Never could get the sides even, the hair kept getting shorter and shorter, ended up good enough to get out of the shop, didn't look too bad, but we laughed about it for many weeks! ---You ended up looking fine, but I'm reminiscing!

Fine blonde hair is he hardest to cut. It shows every, single line....it's illuminated.

If the guy had not taken some part down to the skin you’d be thinking, ‘what did I pay for?! Looks great. Could the stylist kindly lift me into the chair? 🥰

@Von Musklaus In a couple years, once the world has healed, you must visit! (Hopefully, Erdogan will be gone too.) Istanbul is one of the most underrated cities of the world and incredibly affordable! Watch the opening of James Bond's Skyfall. The chase scene was filmed atop the Grand Bazaar!

No hairdresser due to COVID, so long hair is quite common to see around. Windy place, too, which makes our hairstyle look funny.
