I'm very happy to see the eye and respiratory protection. I don't think it's overkill, honestly, if I ever keep any hair kickers, they're going in a room with negative pressure and an air filter.

So long as you show respect and take your time most wont kick urticating hairs at you, they tend to do it on webbing and if they feel threatened. Can get some new worlds that dont have urticating hairs/ wont kick such as avicularia and ex avicularia species, they possess urticating hairs but dont kick, the do rub their abdomen on things so the urticating hairs can get on you from that but avics then to use a different defence and that is to face their bum at you and shoot poo at you 🤣🤣. But going back to hair kicking you should see my large female Acanthoscurria. geniculata her abdomen is perfect and full of her hairs even though her species is very prone to kicking hairs. Not sure how many of Kats videos you have checked out but she has a lot of very good videos with good info, also if you are thinking of getting T's then would also be good to check out tarantula collective (Richard) and Dave's little beasties (Dave Fisher) both of them have over 20 years each of experience and the amount of knowledge I have learnt from them about husbandry and care is unreal. How you have a good easter weekend 😊

You took the right precautions, the fine hairs are bound to move along with any kind of shift in the air atall. Zelda is looking so nice congrats on a super early molt too 😂 I was expecting atleast a year or so before you got a molt from her

As someone who is over a month into still fighting symptoms of exposure to stirmi hair on one of my hands (not mine, I worked at a local pet store) I wish I knew the full extent of how bad their hairs were before I went to rehouse the very defensive girl into her much needed enclosure change (to a more proper setup). I already should have been more careful because I know that I have more sensitive skin than most. Getting point blank exposure from the substrate is torturously itchy... I have prescription strength steroid ointment but the damage from scratching caused my skin to dry out and flake while it's still having small blisters too. I never had a strong inclination to get a bird eater in the past but now I DEFINITELY don't want one for myself!

I love videos like this. On a different note, you'd think they'd be able to come up with a "soft" or "quiet" open/close enclosures so spooders and other crawlies wouldn't get spooked when they're opened.

As someone who is both a biologist and a bit of an arachnophobe, seeing how huge Zelda new fangs were after molting was both horrifying and fascinating to watch. Also this is the first video i've seen of yours and I already learned a bunch of cool new info so thank you!

I swear, once one molts they ALL molt lol. I’ve been able to time lapse my largest one everytime she molts. But I can imagine having as many as you do, it’s tough to catch. I’m so afraid to hurt their fangs, I wait 3 weeks and than only give them gummy worms lol! For some reason, whenever this particular one molts, they come out looking like a spider just sitting there, so I scare people with her molts all the time 😂

Hey Sweetie, I'm from Gloucester UK and I'm quite phobic of our native spiders, mostly because of their speed but also Having been bitten several times! including a wolf spider bite I got in Germany that caused me to buy a skirt to travel home in as my hip leg and groin had swollen to the point I couldn't put my trousers on!! However I am fascinated by tarantulas, and had the chance to handle a Mexican red knee when I was younger. I really love your videos and I find you very helpful and informative to watch. Sorry if I've turned up to your channel a bit late but I'm truly happy I've found you! Keep up the wonderful work you have an amazing and beautiful collection of critters ✌🖤🕷

My Nhandu Chromatus did the hair carpet too this past molt! Before that her butt looked like it was covered in a thick powder and I could see them flying everywhere. It was bizzare! This was the first time I ever saw something like that, so I thought there was something wrong with her. But after her molt she was good as new. But there were hairs all over her enclosure. I too protected myself and sprayed inside her enclosure before taking her molt out. Can't be too careful!!! Loved your video btw! 🧡🥰🖤
