Let's forget plot armor, because Lane's flare burns through plot armor, his backstory and development help the rest of the characters evolve their beyblades, and change their blading style (like with free de la hoya) to me he is a main character of the Beyblade Burst Surge season and here's why... (in my opinion) he could beat EVERY main character on a one on one, and has been basically shown to do so already (in his season), he was the creator of the Surge Beyblades, and was trained by Shu. I even think that Lane's anger can be explained by condition called intermittent explosive disorder, which sounds like he explodes every now and then, but it has to do with his degree of aggression displayed during the outbursts throughout the series, is greatly out of proportion to situation. In addition, his outbursts are not pre-planned; they are impulse and anger based, this doesn't make him evil it makes him complex; I know we may be used to seeing a one dimensional bad guy in a tv series, but sometimes a villain can be a protagonist; someone who starts evil and becomes a better person at the end. Despite being portrayed as an antagonist of the Beyblade Burst Surge series, Lane wasn't one dimensional; he shares a passion for Beyblade, has a complicated relationship with his mentor, and he's got a cute little mascot, I know what your thinking,
dude, we're in a new season.. Bell Daizora with Dangerous Belial would destroy Lane, with a quad drive system; not to mention the new main antagonist of the Beyblade Burst Dynamite battle, Phenomeno Pain
- and while you may be right, we're getting ahead of ourselves,-
because, I empathize more with lane, and feel that his origin story is much sadder than the brothers, as Lane went through an evolution of character himself. Yes, he is endowed with immense power, and natural skills a blader, with a LITTERAL burning passion and goal. While Hikaru and Hiyuga didn't know who Valt was in the first episode of the 5th season, Lane was the reason, and driving force that gave them the opportunity to evolve, grow and overcome a great obstacle. Lane Valhalla is not a psychopathy, as some would assume. Though not approachable, he's able to talk to others and empathize to some degree, showing love and compassion to his mascot, and side kick harry the hedgehog. Lane tends to be very aggressive towards everyone he encounters, but mostly in battle. Not being happy with his own efforts, and achievements, he seeks affirmation of his power, and self worth through his battles. He's got high goals and ambitions, mixed with great blading skills, just like many of the main characters he too makes his own Beyblades, and one can argue that it was HIS revolution that everyone was talking about, by using the surge or sparking Beyblades, and a style of blading that revolves around more power, (portrayed by the new power launcher),
Fake Beyblades are dangerous, and more likely than not. Are of poor quality, and as such may result in injury from flying debris or broken parts.

Lain’s story is one of the most interesting and well thought out backstories. And as we progress through, we actually see that he has a soul purpose of trying to defeat all of the legendary bladers to be satisfied with him and his resonance.

Can't wait to see your video, but I think the same think about him A lot of anime watcher hates him just because he beat everyone, but Lean/Lain is clearly the best part of Superking. He has an interesting character developement, and he's the only one who evolves through this season. I always think of him as main character just like Hyuga and Hikaru. On the other hand, the brothers don't change and they are just here to bring back the past characters

Lain was not my favorite character at first but only because he was beating all the great bladers while just a rookie. But the fact that he was trained to focus by Shu makes him better. Shu is still the best but Lain was was interesting. This video is hilarious!!!

I see what you mean. Lain did get the most character development. The series wasn't just about Hyuga and Hikaru starting a revolution. It was also about Lain finding his true flare and trying to satisfy himself because of his obsession. He found a new perspective in beyblade in the end of the series. A very solid point that I myself did think of for a little while, and since there's a lot to take in, I won't say much as I still need to get my thoughts together. All I really need to say are the following. Sparking arguably would've been cooler if Lane were the protagonist, for pretty much all the reasons you listed and then some. As for what I would do if I came across Lane myself - let's say I'm just walking down the street, minding my own business, and then I see Lane walking down the opposite direction - most likely I wouldn't give him the time of day and just keep going, simply because that's what I always do. 🤣🤣

First Uranus is a bit more challenging than Vex Lucius as the barrier can easily be drained. First can be beaten by having the defense advantage. The barrier on Vex is really interesting against opposite spin but if you have a speedy attack type like Super Hyperion, the barrier would cease in seconds. And endbringer is a bit tougher as the shield drop would be quite the damage. But can be beaten just by pushing it aside and make it hit the tornado ridge.

this video is like, 2 years old now? Sparking overall finally hit 4 years, crazy how time flew. I've watched this before and decided to rewatch it again, i LOVE how you pack his character in here. There's alot of things i want to talk about Lane in general but i would tangled up my words, lol. Abandoment issues, i think that's quite true, Lane was shown to have some trust issues with Shu throughout the series. Despite all of that, i believe he still respect Shu in some extent, that one eps when he faced Lui, he actually received and used Shu's advice. But he probably also did it to show Shu that he doesn't need his help anymore, he can do things himself right now. It's quite vague on why Lane slowly left Shu, but i think that's interesting to look deep on. In the eps where Shu fought Lane and defeated him, Shu thought Lane would be satisfied. But it happens otherwise, Lane actually grows more grudge on him (interestingly Lane didn't gone aggressive to express his dissapoinment & hatred towards Shu.) his personality was much more shown throughout the animations rather than dialouges (at least that's what i think.) He also had this like, small rock island in some scenes (one was in the eps, the other one was on the Sparking ED) , which i found pretty cool too, it also visualize his isolation from others until its slowly cracked towards the end of the eps. Overall, his character is so fun to look deep into, even though, yea, he is definitely a complex character. But i still loved him anyway, he is still on my number one top favorite Burst character till today. Fun fact, Hiro Morita made a tweet to promote one of the special oneshot chapter about Lane & Shu, and in the tweet he mentioned Lane as a "hidden protagonist", guess it actually quite make sense now! its rare to see people discuss about him so this video was fun & refreshing, keep it up! 🙌

I understand what you mean but they should have expanded more on his character. What is his backstory? Where did his evil flare came from? Why does he hate shu? I liked his development I would prefer him as the protagonist more than the two brothers honestly. I liked his development but I don't really think his character development is the best I think it is shu 's. Also I would have loved it if they showed us more of shu and lane since it gave them both character development. Shu 's help for Lane came for to reasons selflessness and selfishness. Selflessness when he was red eye he was suffering and it was obvious it was hard for him. Selfishness he hated himself after being red eye and even before red eye he had insecurities. He wants to feel better by making an achievement. If he changed Lane he will feel better about himself and he won't be afraid of becoming red eye again.

I honestly wanted him to be the mc of super Kings instead of the two twins because they just felt like valt and aiger clones Hikaru is like valt and hyuga is kinda like aiger I don't know I just saw him as valt clones. Super king in my opinion is the best season after evolution and burst.

I think, at least in the anime series, that Lain is one of the worst Beyblade antagonists along with Arthur. I think his version of the manga is better, but I’m not really sure because I haven’t read the whole thing.
