I'll say this, Yu being jumped by Argo does make sense as Argo is actually strong and his bey makes it pretty easy to damage the beys of others plus he surprised Yu, so this one makes sense. What doesn't make sense is him getting jumped by the other 3. Like come on, let Yu actually be a menace like he was in Fusion and actually mess with Garcias before he destroys all 3 so Argo has to step up and nerf him. He also should've defeated Enzo. That would be enough, I wouldn't be mad if he lost to Selen due to Libra's condition and he would already get revenge from Enzo and that would be enough.

It actually would have made a lot of sense for Yu to get the arc that Kenta got in Metal Fury. Considering the fact that Yu really liked Ryuga in Metal Fusion, I think it would have been interesting for these two to reconnect after Ryuga basically showed that he cared for no one other than himself in Metal Fusion. Not saying I dislike the Kenta and Ryuga relationship, I love the arc, but it made a lot of sense for Yu to get that arc considering his history with the dark nebula and Ryuga

The thing is: he really didn't. He really didn't care about anyone in Metal Fusion. That was unfortunately sad lesson Yu had to learn. A sad but necessary lesson because while Yu was never evil, he also didn't completely understand the true nature of a bey battle until Gingka defeated him. Kenta's arc is nice because it's finally Kenta realising that he needs to step up his game. And Ryuga for the first time actually learns to somewhat care about someone in the long run which isn't entirely selfish.

Sophie surprised him while Yu wasn't using the full extent of his power and technically, Sophie created a whirlwind so intense it looks and feels like a whirlpool but it's not actual water. Granted I think that Yu could defeat her in a rematch if they ever got one.

Yu keeps getting merced in metal masters because if you look real close, Yu is SUPPOSED to be a fodder killer. What are his special moves? Turns the arena to sand, lowering the spin strength of his opponent, making them easier to knock out while he’s unaffected by his terrain. Fires a projectile that Yu could 100% use to disorient the opponents Bey to prevent sleepout stall and force the opponent to move and therefore, use more energy. And a screaming pillar of death that forces the opponent to either sleepout (which Yu would win with TWO FREESPIN COMPONENTS) or they enter the field of death and are knocked out. Yu is so overpowered that metal masters made him a substitute, jumped him every other arc, and threw an opponent that tears straight through him in one blow (to make Julian and team Excalibur scary) Now, I forgive the show for making Yu get knocked out by dark Tsubasa twice because it reminds the audience how dangerous the dark power is and isn’t just a win button (cause Kyoya beat Tsubasa while infused with dark power cause Kyoya is the king of BEASTS!) As for the double battle against Damore and Benkei, that’s my favorite fight in the whole series. That is tactics personified and shows how lacking our heroes are in teamwork. It’s a DOUBLE BATTLE! NOT A 2 1v1 BATTLE.

He doesn't get big match W's, but he makes up for it by getting really good character moments, and I like Yu being in the main squad a lot even if he's weaker. I want to point out something important. I have seen some people complain that yu could have used his super sonic vibrations to hold off Sophie whirlpool. This is not the case, because it is an air current, not actual water.

That shouldn't matter. Yu's Libra can make air shake like an Earthquake. Air is kind of like water anyways in that it can flow and whatnot, it's just not limited by a container. It's why Yu's special moves can be countered by removing the air through a vacuum. In his debut, Yu was able to find the smallest opening in Kyoya's tornado(s) by reading the air currents just by looking at it, so theoretically he should've been able to do the same with Sophie's move since it's also air. Also, if he's able to hold back water rapids, then he should be able to hold of air currents as well, or at least disrupt them.

I always hate when this happens in shows, especially in Battle Anime (I don't know if it has an actual name but that's just what I call it. Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokemon Beyblade etc.). We have these new characters and we need to show off how cool and strong they are. What's the best way to do that? Oh, let's have him beat a cannonically strong and well liked main character from the previous season. That will make everyone like the new character, isn't that right Soulburner (Oh my god fuck Soulburner from Yu-Gi-Oh! Vrains I hope he fucking dies). Anyway, that's exactly what happened with Yu. In his first battle, he beats Kenta, Benkei and Hikaru all at the same time, then he beats Ginka and Kyoya at the same time. Be pretty much swept the whole good guy team in like 2 episodes. It was so interesting to see such a powerful Stamina type that actually played like a Stamina type. Sitting in the middle of field and turning everything to sand, outlasting every other bey. And its final special move, Inferno Blast, again wasn't some big smash attack. The vibrations in the air would literally slow down every other bey until they stopped. It was the ultimate Stamina type and still the strongest Stamina type in Metal Fusion. Yu's first battle where he didn't win was against Tsubasa, and that was because Earth Eagle was uniquely powerful against Flame Libra. It could fly over Libra's sand trap and one its special moves specifically matched the opponents vibrations and wavelength, allowing it to could Libra's move. And despite being at such a disadvantage, they still drew in their battle. Yu's first loss was against Ginka, so that's fine. It would be kind of silly to complain about a character losing to the main character in a Battle Anime, and since this isn't egregious, it's fine. Yu's next loss was against Poison Serpent. Now ignoring the actual physics of beyblades and how they would actually interact with sand, Poison Serpent was at a massive advantage against Flame Libra. It could move even faster in the sand, and Reiji's tactic of chipping away at the beys was uniquely dangerous to Libra as it threw off its balance and its ability to create vibrations. Despite that, Yu fled the battle before it ended, although I would say it was a pretty sure victory for Serpent. And then we get to Metal Masters. Hey guys we have this super cool new character with a super cool (and marketable) bey. How do we show off how stong and cool he is? Whatever you think about Masamune, there's no way he should have defeated Yu one on one. He lost to Ginka a dozen times when he literally couldn't control his own bey and he had no idea about Libra's abilities, and the sand trap should have caught him completely off guard. And for some reason, they keep making Yu use Libra so offensively. Why? It's a Stamina type. Outlast the opponent, don't keep running in to attack. But whatever. And then he loses to Tsubasa too. But oh he has all this dark power and blah blah blah don't care. I personally never liked Tsubasa, yet they keep trying to make him seem cool and powerful and shit. Lame. So maybe I'm biased (I am), but I just felt like Tsubasa's win was also unearned. Yu has shown time and time again that he has an autistic computer brain, yet he couldn't see that Eagle was matching Libra's vibrations? Point is, Yu was just another tragic victim of "Previous season character being used to promote new season character"

Real talk, ignoring Kenta before he became a Legendary Blader, Nile was the most powerful Non-Legendary Blader. He was 95% responsible for cancelling out Kyoya’s King Lion Crushing Fang (5% being ago Gingka). Yeah, Yu did survive the King Lion Crushing Fang, Kyoya still overpowered Yu’s new special move meaning that Kyoya’s Special Move is stronger than Yu’s. It is true that Yu did break through Nemesis’ barrier, that’s not as impressive as cancelling out a Legednary Blader’s special move let alone being able to fight against Nemesis (especially considering that Nemesis pretty munched negged him effortlessly). In conclusion, Nile is him.

Cause although Nile and Gingka broke through Kyoya’s special move, I don’t see Kyoya’s special move alone breaking through Nemesis’s barrier cause if he could he would’ve, however Yu’s did break through it though so powerscaling makes no sense haha, although if Nile and Yu were to battle, I’d have to bet on Yu considering their special moves are so similar but with Libra’s having the added affect of turning the stadium into sand

@@mrgabe1 By your own logic, all Legendary Bladers < Masamune, Tsubasa, and Yu. Kyoya and the other Legendary Bladers were all focusing on confronting Nemesis himself. Masamune, Tsubasa, and Yu all were not occupied at the moment and as such, needed a way to help them all out. As shown through if h them breaking the barrier, they did so. Considering that Demure out of all bladers was able to skate across the sand (with the same performance time as Nile’s bey), I’d argue that Nile would be able to do the same (especially since Nile has stated that Horuseus’ power is the power of the great Desert itself).

I think Yu should have been a major player in the Garcia's battle at the very least. I personally would have Gingka lose to Selen first through cheating, then Masamune beats Selen and gets some damage on Ian. Then let Yu defeat both Ian and Enzo to avenge himself for getting jumped.

My favorite character from the series, I loved his concept of a genius blader and also the whole sound theme with Libra. Which is why I was so dissapointed by him in metal masters. The biggest issue I think is that similar to Kyoya, Yu has a lot of special moves but unlike Kyoya who more or less does the same in all of them, each of Yu's moves are different, he gets jumped by the Garcia despite having a sonic shield, during his fight against Benkei and Damure he uses no sonic wave or shield and even during the Sophie and whales fight he uses no special moves.

I guess that Yu during tag team battles has to purposefully restrain himself so he won't defeat his actual teammate. I mean we saw what happened when Yu used Inferno Blast while tag-battling with Gingka, Gingka would've also lost and that's not the point of the tag-team battle. Heck, both Masamune and Gingka had to run away when Yu was about to release the sand trap while fighting Excalibur. He actually did a special move, it was just Sophie stopped him midway through. Sure, Tsubasa can glide beneath the sand or create a shock wave to counter Libra's, but it's not like he couldn't be possibly jumped and him countering Libra's shock wave would also mean that at least one of them is going to be defeated if not both. Not good for teamwork overall. I do agree that he shouldn't have been jumped by Garcias like that. What if Yu instead was a little menace like in Fusion playing all the Garcias as he did with everyone in the Survival Battle. That would be nice, though I can still him being jumped by Argo because Argo is strong, destructive, and surprised Yu.

Also I do think Benkei and Damure working together are a lot stronger, enough to at least match Yu or tsubasa individually, the issue is that Yu can't use inferno blast without risking his teammates safety and Tsubasa was struggling with the dark power so their match really had Benkei and Damure fighting bladers on handicaps.

@@samuquinhaplay5708 With Tsubasa I wouldn't put just the dark power to blame as the teamwork of Benkei and Damure did prove to be extra effective against Tsubasa. Damure predicts Tsubasa's moves and Benkei attacks Eagle before Tsubasa can dodge again. There's also the fact that the sand trap has proven to be ineffective, though Yu should've tried to use Sonic shield (though who knows if Wild Fang wouldn't take advantage of that and make Yu fire at Tsubasa).

He started as a funny kid, mysterious, and over-powerful beyblade warrior and ended up as a weak player who could not even challenge those he defeated countless times anymore. I really hate what the writers did to him. Anime in general has terrible writing for many plot points and characters who ends up with less and less roles. I will say, at the very least, he got to be part of the team in the world tournament. In the version I watched he is named "Carl" which weird because everyone else has Arabic names as replacements, more suited for him in my opinion.

Yu definitely should have gotten more. His bey was already kind of just the worse Flame Saggitario, only having a slightly better performance tip, while having the worse spin track in a more significant way for how negligible it was. At least Claw 145 was useful until Metal Masters, Tornado 125 just always mid. There was real potential for his character to just be untamed, pure spirit and that's kind of how I interpreted it. He didn't have the control to refine his energy into a proper manifestation of his spirit, resulting in raw vibrating energy. There was potential to go one of two different ways from there. They could have gone the Masamune way and have him refine his abilities into something precise and tamed, allowing him to manifest his spirit as something like Lady Justice (the figure often tied to Libra, the scales) or kept him wild and energetic with simply raw energy pouring out as he fights, but boosting the output into a more powerful type of energy from simple supersonic sound waves to actual electromagnetic waves. 4D Beys are clearly not exclusive to the Legendary Bladers so they could have made multiple beys for Masters and Fury as upgrades to his base bey. And he was one of the most entertaining characters, which would have really helped the beys sell so the only reason not to give him better was because the creators didn't like Yu.
