@Kpop Vocal Battle SoHyang is indeed a full-lyric/lyric soprano. Most think she's a light-lyric because she uses excessive twang in her upper belting range, making her upper belts sound thin and nasal. But her lower register and mid-belts, despite being rather bright on their own, lack the brightness that a light-lyric soprano's lows and belts would have. Her lower register also carries much more warmth than that of the average light-lyric.

To me they are all amazing but Vanessa is the best for me... She shines in every part of her voice. She excels both at lows and highs. She could cover any songs from the others. She does not use head voice often because she can belt the b5/c6 that normal people sing in head voice. But she could pull a Beyonce's song off, even with the lows and the head voice and the runs too (she is really agile, to me she could sing Beyonce's melismas, I don't know if that would be as fluent as hers, but I guess so). She could sing Barbara's songs (she has no problem at sustaining long mid-belts), or Sohyang's highest belts. She can do it all. Then I think Bey's pretty close to her. I mean super lows, super agility, super head voice, great mid-belts until f#5-g5 and above all a beautiful tone. Vanessa is n1 for me but Bey is a very close second. But it's very personal

BabbelHage I've seen that video and I still stand by what is said, she's a mezzo. It is extremely clear from the fact that her ease/balanced mix completely diminishes after E5/F5 and she has to approach her notes with a more head dominant mix on notes like G5 & G#5 in order for the easier access to sustain them (The same a Beyoncé). No soprano would ever need to become THAT heady on G5s & G#5s.

@ohhh hhh it's not fuller lol. They have different approaches. And Beyonce definitely would not drown out literal Kim SoHyang if they sang together😂. SoHyang is technically stellar and her sound output is huge. And she doesn't have better dynamics. SoHyang has "nice" chest development as well.

In terms of pure supported range, Vanessa wins this without question. That said, there are a few more elements to full vocal mastery than support alone. Beyoncé is still one of the greatest of all time in my opinion, and the other 3 are probably in those ranks as well.

I don't know the point of this video but this video is enjoyable. Low: Beyonce and Barbra definitely take because Sohyang and Vanessa do not go down that low like Eb3 usually.(especially sohyang) Belts: up to D5 or Eb5 (Beyonce's Eb5) B&B team due to their fuller sound qualities. After that all Sohyang and Vanessa (These two shine much at upper mix register..) Whilst B&B team do not usually use these high notes. Head voice: Depending on your preference, I believe no one among the four significantly lacks headvoice skills. It is more like Beyonce and Sohyangs match since Barbra shows some limits at the end of 5th octave and Vanessas not shown..

Yeah but Bey and Sohyang have no similarities at all. While Barbra and Bey share allot of things like comfort range dark tones, more comfortability and prowess with mid-belts and a very full dark head voice. All of those are things that neither Sohyang or Vanessa share with Bey. So that's why I didn't put them on the same team

I didnt say Sohyang is the best. I was just saying that Barbara is not as great as many people are trying to make her look. I also dont compare people with the vocal skill of singers like Sohyang, Mariah or Whitney. However, many talented vocalists you mentioned like Celine or Barbara are not on the same technical level as the 'legends' like Mariah and Sohyang. As I said I dont compare singers like Sohyang and Mariah bc I think it is easy to create a case where one looks better than the other and on their vocal skill level any difference in vocal skill is kind of negletable since all on their level are unique and incredible on their own way

Beyonce is one of the shoutiest singers in popular music.The c5-f5 - c5 by Vanessa > Any 'upper middle belt' Beyonce has ever attempted.The live G5 belt trill >> Any high belt she's ever attempted. She's never had the kind of ability or consistency Vanessa has in every area of her voice or even Barbara. Barbara was NEVER as shouty as Beyonce. So Hyang is top heavy, she's much more solid at the top and I am not a big fan but even then Beyonce could never. I am of the same opinion as Dileesa etc.

It's not really her tone I pick on. It's more her mixing and her tendency to force upwards and also her vibrato. She's an OK singer but I wouldn't compare her to any of them. She's been shouting on f5's and f#5's also, I don't know how many times and before you ask me to go looking up videos of Beyonce songs I don't listen to or catalog into 'bad vocals folders'.. Christina Aguilera has a hard time singing above Eb5, Celine had to sustain a F5 in her abm performances but she never did, only E5 and as time passes she started to go even lower. Beyoncé can sustain a F5, Celine doesn't, Christina doesn't (even in her wildest dreams), so, at what they are actually better or comparable to them? Beyoncé is not "heady", nobody is, that term is outdated because scientifically all upper notes are done in head voice (you can look a laryngoscopy yourself). Beyoncé doesn't sing with weight in her upper belting, making them sound light. If like it or not, is only your opinion.
