It's such a great "feel good" song and when she sang this at the 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics it was spectacular. It was the last free and open world celebration before 9/11. The world has never been the same. This song will always make me remember those pre-9/11 days. We didn't realize how good we had it.

I'm from Malaysia. We have a water theme park in our capital called the Sunway Lagoon, and they had a pool that had artificial waves. I remember my parents bringing me there when I was only about 6, really young, and the DJ was mixing to this song. I remembered it so well because its beats were just so addicting. Today after so many years, I still dance to the beat of this. Wish time passed slower. It's been 17 years since I first heard this song, to me it's still gold.

I always associate this song as a core memory from my high school. The entire high school danced to this for our Sports Day in 2001 and 2002, and participants of sports day were split into 4 "houses", and the house that danced the best to this song would be given points and all culmative points would determine which is the best performing house for Sports Day for that year. Though the song maybe cheesy, but I was vibing to the beat and chorus of the song more than others. That could explain why my "house" won for that dance competition! 😀Such memories!
