So true. My mother told me that when she was pregnant with my older brother, her hair (naturally 4C) grew to just past the middle of her back. It's not about having the best products and having money. Just simply have a great hair care regimen, and your hair will grow. There's countless KZbin videos of black woman on their "Hair Journey" and after 3 years or more, their hair is waist length. I really appreciate Mrs.Tina Knowles, showing her natural hair and Ciara as well. Beyonce is a performer, she has worn protective hairstyle since Destiny's Child. Braids, Cornrows and Wigs have always been her go to. This is why I am not surprised that her hair so long and healthy. I love it!!!🤗

Our hair is a lot more fragile, dries out quicker , it breaks off faster, the single strand knots etc. It takes a lot more work than people with naturally straight hair (generally speaking ). I am now four years natural and my hair is about the same length as Beyoncé but I experienced SO much breakage this year alone that I'm actually surprised it's still this long

Just look at all the videos in the Self titled album around the time she cut her hair before the album dropped in 2013. all of the videos were are all wigs. She really did cut it and it grew back.

The short hair cut was a wig for a movie role. Beyoncé is beautiful with natural hair, extensions, weaves, ponytails and braids. This video shows her with them all. She is simply beautiful. I wear a weave every day and people are very surprised that my natural, kinky hair is very long. I weave my hair because I can and it’s convenient. It is no big deal. There is no mystery to it. Hair grows. It is fascinating that people are amazed by that simple little fact. Instead if judging people by their hair style and hair length, let’s celebrate people’s character and talent.

I’m glad you posted this, as other races always go on about and/or obsessed with black women wearing weaves like we haven’t got hair or length underneath? I’m sick and tied of other races going on about our hair. Just like we as black people, the only race that come in various different skin tone we have different length and textures of hair, from pixie short, ear length, shoulder lengths and right down to our backs honey! Textures: we have different hair textures from really thick to really curly, loose curls, wavey, to fine thin, straight hair. I’m sick of people thinking we don’t have any hair.I don’t understand what’s the big deal? Some blk woman wear wigs & weave as a form of protective style. if their hair is damaged or they like a particular hair style, colour and length it’s better to wear weave/wigs to protect the natural hair especially from heat damaged, like curling wands , straighteners and hair dryers. Also hair extensions are so versatile with the things you can do with it it’s just like real hair. it has become like a fashion accessory you can have fun with it and be creative. Also more blk woman are wearing their natural hair, and wigs than weaves because It’s easier to maintain the hair underneath the wig than it is of weaves. Lastly it’s not only blk woman that wear wigs, weaves and hair extensions white women wear them too, and they don’t even match the colour properly with their natural hair. Glue knots and clips in’s all showing, as they don’t really know how to do the installation techniques properly! but it’s blk woman that get ridiculed for wearing weaves ???? 🤷🏽‍♀️ Big up to all the sister for rockin their natural hair lengths no matter what length you have, and to the sisters that wanna wear weaves and wigs rock on be as creative with it. Jessie Rene' that statement is a stereotype. She is blended like most black Americans, but that still only accounts for a small amount of her growth rate. I know ppl that are closer to being 100% sub Saharan African that can growl long hair fast. A friend of my mom has always grown her hair quite fast, as in she would go bald in the summer and by Easter would have bra strap length hair. She also had a sister that had hair the same. They looked like night and day, with 1 being very pale and the other dark-skinned. Same parents. I’ve had my dna done, and I encourage everyone I meet to do the same. So many black Americans have that same mentality, so it’s time for a change. “Black” comes in many different colors and ethnicities, so saying we can’t grow long hair that fast is not only wrong, but it shows we also still hold antiquated beliefs. Even science shows us an average. Some ppl may only grow 1/8 inch a months and others may grow 2” a month. So, even if Beyoncé couldn’t grow it out, there’s still many ppl in this world that could.
