what helps me judge this is the reaction of the honorees. Tina Turner was obviously flattered and honored by Beyoncé but Ms. Patti was through the moon, excited, honored, mesmerized, and blessed by Fantasia's performance of her song. The fact that she made it personal by strutting over to Patti just made it that more special. Grant it, Beyoncé didn't have that opportunity due to the seating arrangement, but I don't think she would've if she had the exact same set up. There are certain details a person can do to make something better and that personal touch that Fantasia gives makes her better in my eyes. Just my opinion though.

The difference between the performances is, Beyoncé was doing real choreography. A certain restraint is required. Fantasia was just singing. If you watch the Stevie Wonder tribute it's so much more personal, and would've been better for this. The entire stadium was SHOOK! Stevie regained eyesight for that whole 10 minutes.

I'm sorry ladies but NEITHER Beyonce nor "Ms. Hudson", can stand "toe-to-toe" with Fantasia on the vocals BUT there is a woman by the name of Keke Wyatt THAT CAN!!! Today, Tomorrow and Forever... U would be hard pressed to find another vocalist that possesses more VOCALRANGE, POWERFUL voice AND Overall CONTROL than Keke. If u doubt it, check out her video singing Avant's "My First Love" at Nene Leakes party. Unfortunately, she was charged with DOUBLE MURDA IN THE FIRST DEGREE, following that performance as she invited KZbin star "Dondria" and another woman we'll just call "Jane-doe" as she was SO SEVERELY dismembered vocally, they were unable to identify her. LMAO PLEASE view and if u disagree I WOULD LOVE to hear so. Enjoy the video... And Thank me later. Lol ✌️

Juwana Yes so true...Patti talked about how ppl wanted her to lower singing voice becuz they say she was too loud. She could not control her vocal capacity and power of her voice. What I HATE (and there are very few things I hate), it bothers me terribly when folk, ANYONE, are always trying to make it a competition between our beloveds. DON’T! They each have a God-given gift that each one have chosen to share with the entire world. It’s BEAUTIFUL coming from EVERY single soul. Like J-Z said, music is subjective. It touches all people in so many different ways. I loved both Bey’s and Fantasia’s tribute to the queens who did it before them!
