Think saying Wilson didn't come with NUFC when they made the step up is a bit harsh, his run to the end of the 22-23 season was key to helping get 4th spot.

Wilson has missed many games through injury, and it's frustrating, but his goals-per-game ratio is excellent when fit. I think you'd be hard-pushed to find a striker with this proven quality for sensible money and happy to sit on the bench. I also think he is a solid character to have around the squad. Knowing that Howe likes to ease players into the team and that we can get goals from elsewhere, I'm not surprised we didn't see Osula at Wolves. PSR is limiting the pace at which we can improve the squad. Starting the season with Wilson as a second striker and signing Osula is a gamble, but it's a calculated bet, and only time will tell if it pays off.

Eddie just had to take a calculated risk with Wilson - but I don’t think he had much alternative. In the end we ended up with£70m we didn’t spend, but in each of the last two windows we simply didn’t have the money to buy a quality replacement and - after the Guéhi business - I’m not confident we could have got one anyway. As you say, we are looking for someone as an Isak stand in who, for the rest of the time is happy to sit on the bench !

One example of longstaff that lots of Newcastle fans moan about was against wolves,in the first half he never made no tackles and was Total anonymous in the first half ,hence Howe took him off. He runs around like a headless penguin more times than not and he is capable of a good performance but it's a rare thing. Miggy is the scapegoat and i prefer miggy to longstaff by far.

Great listening to you guys as always. Longstaff gets a lot of stick as Miggy and Dan Burn and most of it is blatantly over the top. The way some people speak about our players make it seem they were playing for the Mackems. At the end of the day it is Eddie who makes the call who to play. As long as the team is winning and picking up points, there is not much to complain. Playing like the Entertainers did not get us anywhere at the end of the day.

If isak is out is play Harvey Barnes on the left Gordon on the right Bruno willock and tonali with Osula up front with them 5 behind him they all can score goals and move , it’s not like isak is scoring goals at the moment, I’d rather have my line up as Gordon does very little as a striker but he’s fantastic on the wing , we would have more chance of scoring with my line up as Gordon as a striker we would have Murphy or miggy on the right so it’s useless

Agree with you Jordan, Sean is a great squad player and not a starting 11 and should be retained to be that player behind Tonali. Last season he played most of it injured, he is not world class like the rest of that midfield but we need players like him to fill the gaps and also he gives us 100%, I remember him and Marty sitting just in front of us from young kids with rest of the academy players, he bleeds black and white. On the striking front we should sign a decent RCB for £20-25m and spend rest on upgrading striker and RM department. That may even mean selling Isak to gain the PSR multiplier and he also has a dubious injury record, during and prior to joining us. Lots to do for Paul Mitchell.

So he can sit and choose his club and if the club don’t match the fee some club in Saudi Arabia or wherever does we either accept that and lose the fee or keep him. Some players can’t win, they get slagged off for going to Saudi Arabia or get slagged off by clubs fans if it suits them but not the player. The power is with the players if they have a decent contract. We couldn’t sell a lot of players so just had to agree to keep loaning them out until they were eventually out of contract.

I think characterising Mitchell’s job as responsible for transfers, is over simplistic. As Football Director, he should be, among other things, Howe’s boss. Still not sure why Eales hasn’t come out to put this nonsense to bed, it’s his job. Howe better answered the questions re his relationship with Mitchell in the last presser but didn’t shut down the issue entirely which would have been easy to do. Not too keen on his line ‘as long as l work at Newcastle…’ something he’s said more than once in the past few pressers - feels like a threat. Eales hasn’t screwed up big time allowing this situation to fester.

Callum Wilson's injury record is actually insane. I can't think of a single player who's as injury prone as that guy. So let me gets this strait - he was recovering from a back injury but while recovering from the back injury he picked up a hamstring injury?? FFS 🤣 Him never being available is really hampering us, and yes a fit Callum Wilson is a goal machine but I don't care anymore, he's never fit. We're having to rely on flogging Isak which in turn will injure Isak. Also regarding Wilson whenever he does come back it will only be a matter of time before he breaks down with another injury, and as you said its never one or two weeks, its always several weeks to months. He needs to hang up the boots and become a coach

Have you actually watched us this season ? When has there been an opportunity to substitue a third choice striker without risking points. He cost £12m ! What do you get for that these days ? I’ll tell you. A third choice striker with potential. I would certainly play him at Wimbledon but would only bring him on at Fulham if we had the game completely sewn up by, say, 70 minutes and that is very unlikely.
