Damn that was insane. That clip of Lionel really suffering and crying hits so hard and really shows his dedication and drive. One of a kind!

I hope people realise that this whole "push yourself everyday to the limit in training" is marketing hype. The key is periodisation and progressive overload. Pushing yourself to the max in every training session is a gateway to injury and burnout. That's the point about Keinle
@CautionBeforeCoffee3 жыл бұрын
You only have to look at Lionels past Full Ironman distances to prove it’s not beneficial to go all out every session

Yes - even us amateurs runners know that ' push yourself everyday to limit' is complete B/S

Sorry, but, "push yourself everyday to the limit in training", its not for all. I m not talking about a perfect body or about genetics, Im talking about desire. You need have desire to get better and get better, and better every single training. Be better today than yesterday. Its about be the best in the world in that session training, in that day, in that week, in that month of your life.

I think that Lionel achieved what he wanted to do. He DO inspire people, yeah pushing to the limits everyday while you are amateur athlete with family and 9-17 job is impossible. But damn while watching Lionel his dedication to it makes you wonder...

Personally I find this very inspirational. Nobody says you must push yourself everyday like they do.. but I believe we must do something and definitely get off the couch! I love people who push themselves in competition. I like this stuff very much.

Every triathlete is like a volcano. 24:00 They look calm and reserved in the surface, but all raw burning lava erupts on a race to winning. You can't win without that deep desire. Love the sport!

Loved watching it, but in the end I am a real sucker for the Ironman-distance. It's like, 10k running is nice, but hey, it's the Marathon that counts. And if it comes to Ironman: except the World Champioships in Hawaii, there is THE one other race, the European Championships in Frankfurt with more than 300.000 live spectators! Where, by the way, Frodeno won 3- and Kienle won 2-times.

Honestly disappointed in Lionel - in that video he is very negative/rude towards others and obsessed with himself - not a good example at all even tho he is fast! Hope further sport career will humble him up - too much selfishness and negativity!
