I dont see it, storms not the icon wonder woman is. wonder woman is the prominant female of DC Leading female character, no female in DC has her status or comes close to it.....Sadly Storm is no where near that for Marvel, not to mention her film and animated counter parts all sucked terribly, no one knows how to represent or portray Storm, they just ruin her, like that step child no one really cares about but keeps around to keep face.

You could do a Shadow King and Storm origin story going between flashbacks and present time with Professor X as her "sidekick." When was the original Wonder Woman show, in the 70s? Lol it took 50 years to bring her out of the woodwork. I think it would be empowering for the black female demographics to see a strong representative superhero.

Dion Deniis Who is above her in status tho. I think Storm is easily the most popular X-Woman, The most popular African American woman in the marvel universe, and the first Marvel woman to be potrayed on the big Screen in 2000, besides Rogue. Storm is a major icon and has been featured in the animated Spiderman show as much as wolverine. She beat WW in the Dc vs Marvel comic series. She had been the prominent leader and headmistress of the X men for a long time. And shes married to marvels biggest African American superhero who is in fact the first black superhero whos also the first to get his own movie. Storm has been in all tv show and movie appearances of the X-Men including Pryde of the X men, X men the animated series, X men evolution, Wolverine and the X-men, X men the Japanese series, Superhero Squad, The amazing Spiderman and marvel nights Astonishing X men (at some point). Overall imo there are few woman who are above Storm in popularity that include Black Widow and She hulk maybe but everyone else is on par or lower than storm in popularity

Your completely right, but the fact is as far as film and television goes, shes always a supporting role, for the most part, and always down played, she never gets her due justice, like hey yeah just wave your hands shoot a lightning bolt and hover a bit its terrible. I think it would be awesome if Storm got her own stand alone film...I just wouldnt get my hopes up. Then also imagine her not being in the films or animated series, the back lash would be insane, like "how dare you". Also aside from that what would a storm film center around?...remember Marvel film fans are not Marvel comic fans, the majority of the people watching dont know muchabout the character other than her being an X-men member, then theres the question as to how well did her character connect with fans in the previous films, because those roles would be the peoples reference to decide if theyre actually interested in seeing it in my opinion.

The one moment for Storm that I can remember showing off her power, is right after Wolverine died. When the news was broken to her, she begged to be removed from the Earth's atmosphere before she could be allowed to grieve. She feared what would happen to the world's climate if she didn't, and even leaving the Earth's atmosphere she threw the entire northern hemisphere into chaos

She works best as part of a team, when she's on her own she doesn't hold the attention, she's a great character only when in relation to others. That I think is the downfall of Storm, unlike truly great characters who can stand alone and do.

Scarlet Witch was portrayed far better and Vision, not to mention the MCU's "background" heroes are more interesting than anything Fox did with Storm. And when they decided to actually giv wher some development, they hilariously screwed it up. Shes been the face of the X-Men or definitive X-Woman multiple times, a lot of her career is leading the X-Men. As far as giving X-Men movies in the MCU, Storm is one of the few characters who could hold a title.

A movie about her finding herself after losing her powers would be great, meeting Forge, fighting demons and possibly regaining them. A movie dealing with depression, love and finding self worth sounds pretty damn good. Or the good old Shadow King Worlds Apart, he takes over T'Challa then Cyclops and she needs to decide who shes going to save first, shows a student of Xaviers whose also Wakandan with super strength how to use his powers and fight hes forced to fight his own people. That's just 2 stories off the top of my head, I have no idea what makes you think shes nothing more than backwash. Storm, the character who was carrying the team along with Cyclops when X-Men was the greatest selling comic book.

That's not a power thing. Before this whole HYDRA garbage, Steve Rogers could wield Mjolnir as well. Ororo is my favorite fictional character of all time, and I find it hard to believe that her status has never been solidified as Omega -- but when people think of Omega mutants, usually it's the likes of Phoenix, X-Man, Legion, or Proteus who get top billing. After they started handing out the Omega label like candy (though not to Storm), I guess the writers figured they'd screwed up and had to "recalibrate" the scale, so that sufficiently powerful elementals, like Storm or Iceman, could lay claim to the title while still continuing to put people like Phoenix, X-Man, etc. in their own OP class.

I think the only real limiting factor on Storm's power is her unwillingness to break the natural rules. She tries to keep things in balance. If any author, however, has the gumption to break that trend, they'll show her power. She has magical potential that could rival Scarlet Witch, finer control of weather than Thor, a stronger will than Doctor Strange that can house the consciousness of Eternity, enough power to lock out the strongest telepaths including Professor X and Jean, tactical skills on par with Black Panther, fighting ability that can rival some of the strongest fighters like Callisto, and an upper threshold that could surpass many other mutants, but writers don't want to go there. So she often ends up being the heavy hitter that saves the team, but who is a glass cannon in spite of all of her potential.

Storm's powers are way beyond JUST weather manipulation/creation. Chris Claremont have said she is an energy manipulator. They've even hinted at her true power a few times in comics. She has energy perception which is basically the power to alter one's visual perception to see the world and all that dwell in it as pure energy. Some only possess that power on the surface. Ororo can CONTROL whatever energy she perceived. Which is why she's able to tap into the ecosystem of any planet she's on and control their governing forces. She's even able to shut down one's power by tinkering with the electricity in their brains. Only other ppl who have done this is Jean Grey, Charles Xaviers and Emma Frost. When she does things like this it is her ability to perceive and control energy why she's able to pull off such feats. Once the person/ being possess a nervous system or contain blood or any other liquids, Ororo can overpower them. Her, Magneto and Polaris can manipulate one's blood flow. Hers is to a greater extent as she can break down the body of a person. She's also able to perceive the deaths of all living things. Down to a dying tree etc. Storm is way more than the simple mind is able to explain. Chris Claremont gave her a rich and powerful history. What's worst at the time he fell out with Marvel he had other plans for Storm that would've boosted her powers far beyond what they are today.

Storm drawing enough moisture from miles around to make it rain for a few days without damaging the ecosystems she's drawing the water from.

I once read an article that said she even has the potential to warp reality. Due to her ability to manipulate the molecules on objects via electricity, meaning she is somewhat like molecule men, who can warp reality via molecules at a greater scale. Storm is basically a character that can even surpass the Scarlet Witch, and be tied with the Phoenix if we take on all of her posibilities that can be applied to her powers.

Storm is my favorite character of all time. I am in love with this character. This woman isn’t just a force of nature, she CONTROLS forces of nature. When a character is described as “creating a storm so powerful it mimics the storm that shaped the planet when it was young” yes, you are omega level. If a character controls meteorological phenomenons on ANY planet, controls her powers with her mind and uses biometric pressures to destroy you, yep, you are omega level. When you are entrusted with the leadership of the x-men, the future of young mutants by an omega level mutant (Xavier) and the throne if Wakanda, you are an omega level mutant. We all know that x men is NOTHING without her. Give her her credit. I am in LOVE with this character. She can remove the air from your lungs, she one struck her husband with 6 billion Jules of lightening. She is Mother Nature. Truly, omega level.

She can do so much more than hurl lightning bolts and make it rain. She can literally have similar to x-ray vision and pinpoint all kinds of things in the human body. Guys as of the hickman run on x men, storm is not only an official omega level mutant, but also now the ruler of the solar system, as the regent of Arakko (Mars (renamed Arakko) is now the capital of the solar system) (for this read the hellfire gala, planet sized x men, and ultimately the Sword comics that have come out in the past year or so.) Additionally, she can now count assisting in terraforming mars within a day alongside the other omega mutants (read planet sized x men), as well as single handily creating a diverse and permanent weather system on the planet, to her greater list of feats. This video also fails to account (understandably as its unrelated to her omega status) that Storm is consistently one of the best hand to hand and weapon combatants in the marvel universe, and has time and time again been shown to be one of the most dangerous combatants with or without her powers. Notable hand to hand feats include her famous fight with Calypso, her recent fight with the original horseman of Death (in the X of swords event) and her even more recent defeat of Tarn the Uncaring in the pages of the current Sword run. Finally it is notable that she has a high magic potential, and a alternate reality version of Storm is actually the woman who taught Magik magic. (Read the Four part Magik and Storm miniseries) Storm alongside Dr. Strange is actually one of the very few marvel individuals capable of being a host for the cosmic entity Eternity, which based on Eternity’s scope is quite a feat in itself. Storm fun fact! She has been on so many different teams over the years, but notably, is one of only three characters to have been on all three of Marvel’s biggest teams. She alongside Spiderman and Wolverine have been official member of the X-Men, the Fantastic Four and The Avengers for some period in publication history!

If the writers and creators fullly utilize their imagination to depict the FORCE that a character like hers can logically possess--which according to avid fans is simply BEYOND what she often is represented having--then it would be no doubt that she is one of the MOST powerful and impactful mutants to have ever been created within the Marvel Universe. The creators of Storm struck gold envisioning her; a graceful and elegant representation of power; and i believe it's up to us as fans to let them know her character should not be robbed any further of expanding and amplifying what she can really do....and it's never too late to do a movie or a revised history that does justice to her. Storm is [conditionally] beyond omega level and no one exhibits greater control of their power than her. If she were wicked and self serving, ororo could shut down the internet and systematically conquer nations by herself with droughts, wildfires, acid rain, and stuff like giant tidal waves and hurricanes. She could screw with the atmosphere and let a place experience a sort of fallout from over exposure to harmful sun rays. She is a walking wmd, and that's perhaps why she is never openly discussed in continuity as omega. Because she knows her powers are dangerously broken in the extreme and chooses not to use them that way. But nothing is stopping her from being the next magneto. In theory those two should be equal in terms of power.

There's sort of an unwritten rule in Marvel comics that the only way a female character can be seen as truly powerful--as in more powerful than the highest level male characters--is if she is evil or crazy I think Storm has faced the brunt of this more than any other female character. Just to give an idea of how strong she is, Storm's first encounter with Magneto involved her almost depowering him by manipulating the temperature (magnets lose power in relation to heat). It made no sense that her tactic didn't work other than the comic writers decided it shouldn't. She is essentially Marvel's answer to D.C.'s Wonder Woman in terms of brand recognition, popularity, and power-threat (with Storm might actually having the edge). I know Marvel keeps trying to make their "It girl" Captain Marvel (as well as She-Hulk for a while, then Spider-Woman for a split second), but comic readers have always gravitated to Storm more than any other female character in Marvel. Hopefully, they will build up on that rather than fight it.

Christopher Canadate iceman was put on the list because he's immortal and can influence the ecosystem of the galaxy if he were decide to do so. Plus his powers are on a molecular lvl as well so Iceman is far beyond just causing an Ice Age. Very nice video and thank you for showing some love to Storm. Though I wish you would have went more into depth of the facets of her abilities. You forgot to mention how she can manipulate the electrons in the human nervous system as well as her galactic core feat which spanned a star system. Or X-men #147 when her omega level potential was first introduced. She warped a storm that covered the entire eastern hemisphere and was steadily growing in power. Also X-Men: Legacy writer Mike Carey penned the Storm origin story for the X-Men edition of Origins of Marvel Comics and he clearly states that “Storm’s power puts her in an elite group of Mutants with omega level potential”

Storm is more than what u hv explained on the vid, she has shown the ability to alter and change the moleculer of an object, she can generate/manipulate energy, control the electro magnetic field. She is also empathic, which means she can read the emotions of the sentients, manipulate them etc. She can basically control all the elements, her powers r not only limited to the weather. Read "The Uncanny X-Men #147- Rogue Storm!". No one really knows the full limits of Storm's powers, as she always tries to keep her emotions in check. She has, however, tapped into her higher levels before, letting her emotions be completely free, albeit briefly. She made Dr. Doom, one of the most powerful Marvel characters, cower in fear of her. When she fully lets go and transforms into Rogue Storm, her power is on a Phoenix level, which, in my opinion, is why she is an Omega.

There is NO doubt that Storm is Omega level mutant. I wish I could remember the issue where one of the dialog boxes described her as such. In addition to that Northstar and Darkstar have described her as the most powerful X-man....and as an old X-head issues #147, where Claremont writes Dark Phoenix Mark II with Ororo as the troubled goddess and #150 where it is Storm who is the main threat to Magneto (almost suffocating him twice in a vacuum) ....in addition to her constantly having to rein in her power due to the potential ecological damage she could inflict on the planet there is no "possible" about it, She is Omega level!

Actually Storm is beyound an Omega level classification. Her lineage of magic and weather manipulating priestess, a Faltine father, and favor from the goddess MA'AT (Oshtur) makes her a powerful demigod.

I loved when Doctor Doom imprisoned her in his castle and she caused the weather to go absolutely crazy around it it seemed to put the fear of Doom in Doom.

Is there anything past Omega level? Because that’s where Goddess Queen Storm belongs! I’ve been a Storm fan since I was a very young child!

I blame the movies and shows. They have her only do the same lightening throw. The Dark Phoenix saga, when she Jean flew off the handle. Storm was the first one to go toe to toe and was about to risk it all. Obviously she wasnt going to beat Dark Phoenix but the fact that she could even get in the ring, makes her vicious. I need a comic of storm going legit rogue.

The 90s X men animated cartoon showed how powerful Storm is. She healed and dying planet. That's no small feat. She held back a tidal way in The Phoenix Saga, picked up a building and dropped it onto Juggernaut, stopped Omega Red.

Of course Storm is Omega level! I only problem is she never had the chance to let loose and show us what she can really do. Aside from that, I concur there are no arguments here.
