The beyond skyrim team stated that they were told specifically by bethesda that they legally cannot accept any money or donations or else itd breech one of bethesda's rights to their product. As long as it remains 100% free and doesnt use any restricted assets, they are allowed to do whatever they wish with the mod. Unless things changed in the last few months, which i extremely doubt they have. Id love to contribute financially to this but I just dont think they are accepting it nor is it allowed. It amazes me how an expansion for ESO adds 53 mins of music which is developed by a multinational gaming company yet an independant modding team is capable of adding 3 hours with a fraction of the finances. Not only that this soundtrack is a perfect accompaniment to the atmosphere of the Elder Scrolls universe. An absolute Classical Masterpiece that deserves its own independant recognition for its composition.

It sends a clear message to Bethesda and other big companies where to go if they need to hire new people. Doing this kind of work is the most important thing an aspiring artist can do. And it's doubly important we support them and give them the exposer they deserve. These people are part of the next generation and they cannot feel discouraged in their work. Just imagine how many masterpieces never came to be seen because the artists involved felt discouraged after not gaining the exposer they wanted.

Nox Atra started playing as I was walking up to Cloud Ruler. Oblivion was a big part of my childhood and I have a lot of good memories of that game, and of Cloud Ruler Temple in its prime. To this day I still sometimes go back and play it. It was genuinely depressing to see what happened to Cloud Ruler after the Aldmeri Dominion invaded Cyrodiil. My heart sunk into my stomach as I passed through the stone arch, and immediately broke as I crested the stairs. It was like playing the Dragonborn DLC all over again, and seeing the state of Raven Rock after 200 years, when I helped build it back in Bloodmoon all those real-life years ago. Just this feeling of utter despair to see such a big part of my youth in literal ruins after all this time. It makes sense given the political climate of Skyrim, but... By the Nine, it hurts.

I LOVE the somber tone in a lot of these tracks. It really sets the tone of Cyrodiil in the post-Great War landscape. While listening to these tracks, I can't help but feel a little sad knowing the Empire is on it's knees and reminds me of the days when my CoC helped end the Oblivion Crisis.

Nobody expects the Inquisition! I know that this is very late, but..... The Thalmor have claimed all of Somerset, Elswyre, and Valenwood. The Great Houses and Black Marsh have long seceded from the Empire. Hammerfel has seceded and is continuing the battle with the Aldmeri Dominion. Skyrim, a land of fiercely loyal warriors, is in a civil war, which is unlikely to end for many years, and High Rock is as unstable as ever. Added to that, the Emperor has been assassinated. I cannot see the empire surviving the Fourth Era, a least in it’s current iteration

The Beyond Skyrim: Bruma soundtrack easily compares to the likes of the main series games. The heavy inspiration and imaginative reworkings of Soule's work is very apparent in each piece. There's a lot of power in each song, so you really feel like you're in the heart of Tamriel. This time around in Cyrodiil things feel harsh, with more grit, and that's what captivated me with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's soundtrack. The Bruma soundtrack manages to bring homage to Oblivion's use of a lot of wind instruments, which makes me feel almost at home and a familiar yet vastly different province. This is a masterpiece, and I hope the mods continue this darker tone with their music.

1:07:50 In my last playthrough, this song weirdly made one part that otherwise wouldn't have been too sad, REALLY depressing in this mod. So, I got to Frostfire Glade, beat the boss, and all that. And just explored a bit. I found the dead pilgrims and a book next to them. "Chant of Mara". I started reading it, then mid-way through reading it, the vocals in this song started.... I don't know why, but it made me really watery-eyed. Made an otherwise normal-ish moment weirdly powerful.... I honestly can't believe so much effort was put into a Skyrim mod's soundtrack. And for that.... Thank you, and the rest of the team, so much. This music was such a high point in my playthroughs of Skyrim.

4 years soon... Since its release, I often stumble upon this complete soundtrack when I have to work all night long for an exam/dissert (needless to say it occured even more with the Covid and the "take-home exams"). You released these great songs 4 years ago but to me it feels like I'm using them for an eternity. It became an integrate part of my student life, much more than the great atmosphere it provides when I take my Imperial back to his homeland. When I listen to any of these songs, it's not an image of the Jerall mountains during a snow storm, or the church of Bruma (ok for this one I admit Widow's Lament still does make me remind of Bruma) that comes to my mind, it's some memories of these nights, when I needed a lot of motivation to persevere. While it might seem like I associate your music with bad memories, this is quite the opposite : it also reminds me than the next assignments I'll have to do in the future will be made easier thanks to your tracks. And for that, Mr. Ran, I thank you. Your music went beyond skyrim, and the world of The Elder Scrolls.

Danke Fefe

Translation What is so special about this music, I can not explain. On the way home from work I've listened to the times. So relaxed and enthusiastically I am at least 20 years no more car driven. About 45km, 40 minutes. Then 2 km from home, oh my God, still 5 minutes and this trip is to END. I do not want that. Thank you Fefe

This is for a mod. And it is one of the best Elder Scrolls soundtracks ever made. Once again, this is for a MOD. "Bloodlines" features one of the most beautiful themes I've heard recently. It's my favourite one, and I can only apologize for not liking or commenting earlier. Great job. Really. And thank you so much for this. I never get tired of hearing this soundtrack.

This soundtrack honestly got me into Skyrim due to how incredibly it was, who knew a mod soundtrack could be this good, even better then the game’s original one, well played

The thing about this that is so spectacular is that it completely succeeds in capturing that atmosphere Skyrim's soundtrack was able to pull off. The music makes you feel satisfied, homely, and also adventurous at the same time, as if something new is always on the horizon. Music is so important, it can actually be the backbone of a film or game, and often times it's the reason games succeed, whether people notice it or only subconsciously feel it.

This is just beautiful. I know you felt a little confined trying to compose like someone else, but you did an awesome job of it. Soule hasn't been very prolific lately so I'm glad to have this to tide me over.

there's a single interval in the track apparitions that gets me every single time, I had to put the game down and scroll through this ost to see which track it was that one interval. Every time I hear it wandering around bruma it just sense shivers up my spine

I think that when Beyond Skyrim is complete the teams who made it, will probably have a future in the gaming industry. I mean since Skyrim was released theyhave been working on this project. Their team is much smaller and yet they are working on what could and should be considered 5 entire games and 2 DLC (the total size of this mod). That is f**king impressive if you ask me.This is their tribute to one of the best games made. Can you imagine the fun we will have when we take our favourite Follower (mine is Serana obviously) and explore all of Tamriel and beyond? The only down side to this is that they would be unable to hire the voice actors of the original followers to add new lines. No matter how long we will have to wait, it will be worth it. So teams of Beyond Skyrimif some of you are reading this I will be waiting not only for the first Unofficial Sequel to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, but all the other as well. No matter how long it will take we believe in you guys. And as I stated before I really believe and hope that after this massive project all of you have a golden future in this industry, because all of you would deserve it.

I'll tell you a little story of my Skyrim roleplay: When I play this expansion, I roleplay that my Dragonborn's immortal father, the one who was once the CoC (the sane and human aspect of the new Sheogorath) speaks in his head as he tells his story of how he helped end the Oblivion Crisis. My character was also once part of the Blades (I played the Reclaiming Sancre Tor mod expansion in Oblivion). He grew up a homeless thief in the Imperial City, his father had to do things as Sheogorath, and his mother is wanted by the Dominion. When I went to Cloud Ruler Temple, it was kind of an emotional scene, because an Imperial Watch captain used to take him there as a kid every time he is caught stealing to learn good values from these brave and honorable knights. Few years later he joins them at the age of 12 and lives in the rebuilt Sancre Tor for most of his life. When he visited the Cloud Ruler Temple by the time of Beyond Skyrim: Bruma, he remembered the atrocities the Thalmor committed. They murdered the only family he ever had in front of him, and destroyed what was left of his home. He didn't meet his father until he felt something in Sheogorath when he was in Pelagius' mind.
