My theory is that the finals is for a very specific type of player who enjoys both the light hearted aesthetic and a tactical shooter that requires coordination with one’s teammates. Comparing normal run and guns that require little team cooperation, I could see how some guys would jump onto the finals, try rushing enemies alone multiple times, and then get bored from dying often. It’s a game with a learning curve and I’d compare it more to something like Nintendo’s Splatoon than COD. I love the finals, but I don’t think it’s for everyone. That being said, we core finals lovers will never give it up 👍.

I personally, will continue to play it despite balance changes going against what I'd like to see for the main reason that it gives me an incentive to change my playstyle and tactics. If snipers get a buff you'll see more snipers and so your play style changes. Recently the double barrel got a buff so I made sure to hear for silent lights more often and keep my back against something as often as possible.

The Finals has become my main game since it went into beta. Sunk in nearly 500 hours (Sad, ik) since, mostly playing Quick Cash and tournament. All this game needs is the players. I don't understand why more people from games like Apex don't make the switch (like I did) when it's in such a bad state at the moment (cheating, battle pass, etc...)

I fully agree about the biweekly patches. But my assumption is that they already internally have most efforts of the team towards biweekly changes, and the ones in between are much easier/low effort to implement based on their data

Easy sub. This community is growing because the finals Is like the single best feeling gameplay I’ve ever experienced and I want to see it flourish in whatever form that it takes. I think the internal struggle for the devs is the competitive aspects clashing with the much more vocal casual community. I think if any game can do both casual and competitive it’s the finals, it’s just like any sport in that regard. The comp scene just needs a consistent ranked mode with the only rewards being the rank you have plus maybe calling cards or art, things that you get for having a high rank, NOT the other way around: don’t put items like camos and cosmetics that players want but aren’t good enough to get. I think that’s one of the main complaints for ranked mode atm, that rank doesn’t indicate skill, and I feel like that’s because casual (and specifically free to play) players also want those items so they made rank not correlate to skill. As for the casual bunch, this game could kill cod and Fortnite if it added user generated content tools. If this game got *one* last update, and it just added a map and mode maker, the game would still have a largely thriving community of people making maps just like StarCraft, because the game is just that fun to play intrinsically A map maker is a start but adding the ability to make custom game modes and alike would go such a long way in keeping the game alive. That’s why there’s a lot of people who just want a TDM mode, so they can have the gameplay with no requirement for cooperation or coordination I really don’t want this game to suffer like multiversus is suffering right now, which it shouldn’t because the game monetization is phenomenal. Everything about the game is just so close to perfect that anything left to change is subjective. So again, why not add user generated content?

The best part of this is it gives a chance for the KZbinr and streamer community of the game to properly grow. Ottr came in with a prebuilt viewer base and overshadowed a lot of people, now the scene can build naturally.

For anyone concerned about player count, this game is still in top 20 of all free games on Xbox. There are likely 2-200k players (based on WT rankings, on a new account play a few matches and check your rank, thats a good indicator.)

The new game modes are fun, but the core of the game is Cash Out and they haven't fixed that at all. They have all of these features like the entire light class, melee weapons, and destructible environments which are completely useless in ranked competition. Instead of making changes so those things are viable, they just took away Cash Out ranked mode. They should have given light class a quicker cool down on healing so that they could stay in the fight more. That would have made hit and run tactics more viable. As for destruction, the maps need more destructible elements and fewer paths to the target. You should be able to dramatically alter a game by blocking off one path to the target. Currently, that's just too hard to be worth it. As for melee weapons, the shooting mechanics needs to become more challenging so that few players can actually reach the skill ceiling of in-game marksmanship.

I actually disagree with your assessment on weekly updates. I don’t think they do enough balance changes actually. The meta doesn’t ever feel like it shifts very significantly at all. Not to mention the fact that we only get new content 3-4 times a year, it’s really important to keep the game fresh

@@RockhoundBlack maybe, but I think it’s important that there’s an update every week. It’s something for people to look forward to. It doesn’t always have to be major, but I think if you make a game like this, it’s important to keep it going or else people will feel like it’s stale - which I think is one issue the game has. Unfortunately I think waiting a whole season to introduce new weapons and gadgets is a problem too. I personally think it would be better to role those out on a weekly/biweekly schedule throughout the season instead of throwing it all in and then waiting 100 days for new stuff. That way, we have new stuff rolling in all the time.

Rob Runesson has actually said in the Discord that we don't need to look outside the boundaries for Easter Eggs. There are some exceptions though, like the giant red Moon on Skyway Stadium. But I don't think there'll be Easter Eggs we need to interact with that are outside the boundaries.

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I wish they would tweak the aim assist again. I just remember how much fun I had during the first season as a console player. I’m not horrible, but it’s impossible to turn crossplay off and get a match that feels fair. I know it’s a skill issue but it’s just not fun anymore. It’s frustrating 80% if the time.

Exactly mainly everyone loves and one’s cash out so why would embark make terminal attack the rink mode and not tell us. before they made all those changes to terminal tech I love in Mark‘s team they’re very Very conversational if they’re going to do something they’re gonna say something about it, but the release of terminal ranked was the opposite. They just stabbed their main rank player base in the back.💀 and they lost multiple players because that dumb mistake sadly still grinding for diamond and can’t wait for Emerald. And can’t wait for season four. I want three new guns that would actually shift the meta-

Really sick and tired of the terminal attack hate just because it’s not cash out. TA is a more secure experience for the player because the success is on the PLAYER skill positioning and gun skills. All the variables in cashout make it miserable 70% of the time. I can’t count how many times my team works hard to steal a cashout and a team literally swoops in like the avengers and steal it in the last moments as if they were sitting in a corner waiting for the fight to conclude that’s not an environment for RANKED AT ALL. And don’t get me started on solo q matchmaking. I think the revamped version of cashout will be fire I’m patiently waiting

For me (and my friend) they do 2 really wrong things, First was the crossplay change, literally killed console player base (on 14 friends that play on, they Just leave after this and never back), i never be tired of saying that crossplay should be by device, pad cant compete whit M&k. Secondo biggest mistake Is ranked TA... Not much to Say about It.

To be fair, i was having mixed feeling with The Finals since season 2 dropped. I absolutely ADORE the amount of effort and research that goes into new guns, themed maps and skins. At the same time there is a lot of questionable choices in game balance. With season 2 SYS Horizon was introduced, and while it's design was absolutely amazing, aswell as battle pass retro themed skins, it got destruction really toned down compared to previous maps. New gadgets and weapons were really below mediocre it terms of effectiveness, and were forgotten about by players in first month. Then season 3 came and we got really good looking map, but again, it's so poorly optimized that i barely can play on it. And again we have same story where new gadgets and weapons look and play absolutely amazing, but they are somewhat underpowered compared to what we already had in the game. All of this, as snowball effect, practically made me stop playing Finals for the last 2 months. I really love this game and the love they putting into it, but some of their choices are still questionable (like TA ranked) no matter what community says.
