I fully agree. While I am ALL for the progress in the way women are viewed and am grateful for the women with the strength, determination and courage to finally stand up for ALL women and demand that we be treated with as much respect, faith and support as men are; FINALLY, taking back our God given right to no longer have to settle for a life where those around you decide FOR YOU. We finally get a say in our own lives. We most definitely have much more to work to do, but slow progress is better than no progress. But while it easy to assume that men are not in the same position, it couldn't be further from the truth. Yes, they get paid more (statistically, but not all employers are that ignorant). And yes, they get away with behavior, temperament, and actions that women get judged and condemned for (again this is not all men, just generally speaking). HOWEVER, when it comes to the more psychological and emotional aspects, men are judged, ridiculed, and disrespected buy others. If a man is the victim of DOMESTIC abuse, if a man is a victim of SE×UAL abuse. If a man dares to physically disply any form of emotional hardships or if a man dares to shead a tear.... they are made to feel like they are less like a man. They're ridiculed, judged, and ultimately brushed off. If we as a society where more aware of abused men, this poor man would have been less likely to be disregarded and blown off and he may possibly still be alive today and this story could have ended very different. We need to fight just as much for men living and experiencing threats or abuse of any kind, as we do for women. Equality will never happen if the only changes made benefit only one side. Equality is having the same rights, expectations, opportunities, and respect as those around us regardless of gender. We need to fight to stop the stigma that comes when a man reports any form of abuse and support them instead of judging the victim, embarrassing the victim and further traumatizing the victim. Expressing emotion does not make a weak man.

When they interviewed the brother's wife, she talked about the cops hounding him and him realizing that he was about to get the murder pinned on him. He died quickly before they had the chance to collect enough evidence and charge him. So I don't think the police ever bought his story. They just didn't have enough evidence to challenge his self defense claim and couldn't arrest him until the DA was ready. I'm sure it complicated things to know that the only witnesses were in the wind and that they couldn't go to trial without further testimony from Lori and Tylee.

@@bs5740 Joseph Ryan, Tylee's father, her third husband. He died the year before (2018) and many suspect Lori and/or Alex as responsible. It was suspicious enough that they reopened the investigation after the children were found; however, since Lori had them cremate him as soon as he was found, they only had past medical records to go on. Unfortunately, she was the only contact person they could find on any of his records. He had died several days before he was found; they put his death as natural, heart failure. She had put him through living hell trying to keep Tylee from seeing him even though he had visitation rights, had him in court repeatedly saying horrible things about him. She had also been recorded in a conversation with a group saying her bible said it was okay to murder someone if they offended you. Her first and second husbands must feel very lucky they got away from her and are still alive! Colby's father was her second husband. I seriously doubt any of us know someone who has had two husbands, two children, and a brother die within two years unless it was all in the same horrible auto/plane accident! Death doesn't just follow this woman - she drags it with her. When Joe died, she got his life insurance and then monthly S.S. benefits for Tylee. It might look like that whetted her appetite for easy money then Charles was murdered for his $1M life insurance (and S.S. benefits for J.J.). When she learned she was not getting that $1M, Tammy suddenly died after Chad increased her life insurance. I've no seen it disclosed if Alex had life insurance or not when he died and, of so, who was beneficiary. Because of J.J.'s disability (autism) and Tylee's benefits, she was getting $6K a month in S.S. benefits for the children. It seems highly likely she will spend time in prison for collecting benefits after their deaths if she should someone manage to avoid prison for their murders. From what I have read on their pages, S.S. fraud is not a jury trial but carries automatic prison sentences, and she clearly was not spending their benefits on them after they were murdered and buried but still collecting them. I somehow doubt she can convince them that J.J. was with Kay and Tylee was at college as she told others!

@@chelleyd4020 They cannot prove anything because he was dead several days before being found and put his official cause of death as natural, the investigation into his death was reopened after finding the children's bodies. However, the circumstances surrounding it all point to Lori who collected his life insurance. In fact, that is what started her killing spree - she collected that and when it was gone, she stole the $35K from Charles' business account, then killed Charles (had Alex do it) to collect his $1M policy (Surprise! He had changed the beneficiary to his sister), then Tammy mysteriously died just after Chad increased her life insurance to the maximum! The cops are complicit. Absolutely, they can detain her for a 5150, write a report, contact social services, maybe even investigate with family and neighbors? Just to be clear that’s their job. Those are standard procedures. Keep in mind cops make up 40% of domestic abusers-so of course they’re inept in dealing with domestic issues. Only 4% of police work is spent on violent crimes so maybe, yah, they should do their jobs or reconsider their “protect and serve” motto and stop wasting tax payers money.

The trouble is that under the law, it's not a threat unless there's a specific statement of intended retribution that would be unlawful to carry through (typically, physical violence). Threatening to use your spiritual powers to 'destroy' someone -- 'destroy' being a very vague term that can include things like suing someone into bankruptcy -- is not a legally actionable threat.

I think most of us (including the authorities) thought Tylee never left the park. That might have been the plan but it was too busy with tourists that day. If Kay Woodcock (Charles' sister and J.J.'s grandmother) had not been so persistent about finding the children, this may have all gone with no consequences. No, being LDS, it’s pretty uncommon to see divorces in the church, let alone multiple divorces like that woman experienced. Our church discourages divorce except for certain circumstances such as abuse etc. honestly her action before being involved in murder isn’t a typical member of our church. What it sounds like in my opinion was she was fed some mixture of doctrine from our church and distorted false doctrine and it destroyed her. We don’t believe in reincarnation like that Women believed. I honestly don’t really think she should be considered a member of our church even before she was involved with murder…

Some of the worst child abusers and truly horrible (extremely selfish & self-righteous) people I’ve met or known about bc they severely abused my friends were religious fundamentalists. The day Alex shot Charles, she had grabbed Charles' phone like a teenager acting stupid and refused to give it back to him. They argued because Charles wanted his phone back and she kept it away from him, snatching it out of his reach and moving away. If Lori never took Charles' phone he would have left immediately and there would have been no altercation. Alex is not innocent, they twisted the facts after he had shot Charles because the only person who knew the truth is dead. Lori only left to take JJ to school after the shooting had already occured, she left Alex to deal with it and removed herself from the scene. Killing your own children is a whole 'nother level of callous. May Lori and Chad rot in jail for all the lives they have destroyed.
