The video is great actually. I would put more stress on finding a phoenix though. It can also bulletfly through sandstorms without any kind of speed reduction, and it's one of the fastest fliers, outrunning dragons easily. Not to mention it's a furnace/cooker/miner for anything you could need and sulfur is easy to get. When I started the game I started near a drop and just never really moved. I got fire arrows from the drop and in my early super heat, it spawned over my base, since it's single player and that's the only place dinos could spawn. I simply made a trap and tamed it up. It single handedly allowed me to do all 3 caves, mine, get anything i needed, and no storm stopped me. It is a huge MVP.

@@BEYPlaysGames I have to agree with gazfaz here, most of the other videos were not helpful at all, they were all on specific things ad weren't helpful in the long run. For example, I was trying to find ground-accessible crystal locations and every video showed me the best ways to get crystal after you have a flying tame. (I needed crystal so I didn't wind up taming a level 1 argentavis. ) This video was helpful in general, not on extremely specific subjects.

Idk why but I never even thought of using megatheriums in the desert - been using the thyla, but using a megatherium makes more sense with the buff. Fun fact about achatinas (and pretty much all shoulderpet/carryable pets). Half of their inventory weight transfers to you, or subsequently your mount. Achatinas stand out in this regard because they natively have insanely high weight. a Snail can get 2k+ weight without imprint or significant levelling. Pushing 4k+ is realistic. If you want to level them quicker, pick them up and they will share in any xp you get. This is also great when paired with a phoenix. You can encumber yourself and phoenix to the point it can barely move, think 99% encumbrance. Then hold space and its afterburn will accelerate to its faster-than-wyvern max speed disregarding encumbrance( i dont think this works if you hit 100% encumbrance though). Just make sure to point at home before taking off as it turns like a whale.

I actually used the desert drop video to try and get the loot I wanted for alpha manticore (side note: I used wyverns for it bc that works too lol) That video was very very helpful, I just put all the locations as POI's and then spent several hours flying between them all until I got what I was after. I took a few argentavis to get my first wyvren egg. buff the HP and stam of the one your gonna ride and the HP and Atk of the ones that are going to sacrifice themselves for you. They can provide a distraction while you get away. Try to get a fire egg on your first go, will make the next run much easier.

Honestly mate, that is the best tips video for ark I've seen yet. I'm about 200 hours in to ascended. First time playing ever and this video is gonna help me so much. One question.... how do you level so high. I'm 115 and I know collecting the notes gives you extra but how are you over lvl 200?

Uhhhh I don't recall being level 200 ever haha, can you give me the timestamp for it? using a Chibi pet will also add an additional 5+ levels for your survivor too if you didn't know about that yet! They are rewarded from the boss fight, bit broken though and most of the time they disappear from the inventory as ascending has us lose all our gear, they did mean to fix that but I ran the boss about a week ago and still had to put all my items on a tame not to lose them!

@BEYPlaysGames oh no I was looking at it wrong haha. But your tame is over lvl 300 is the right? Probably looked at the wrong too. My tame won't level past 215. So I've got the 3 artifacts... but weapons aren't good yet. But when i do do a boss fight you loose all your gear when you come back?

@@nick_coles_art Haha was beginning to get me worried there, well it all depends on what level they are tamed at, if it won't level past level 215 I would assume it wasn't too high of a level from the wild as a perfect tame 150 wild creature usually tames up at 225ish, so you basically can have I think 88 additional levels after tame...then there's breeding where breeding in stronger stats and mutations will also raise the creature's base level, I think the max level after breeding and with additional levels is around level 450 and you won't be able to get a higher creatures than that level! Not with all the boss fights but with the Manticore from Scorched Earth I have been losing everything. So you have to put all your stuff including the item rewards from the boss, your cosmetics tab etc....all inside one of your tamed creatures in the arena, otherwise you'll lose it all, this was apparently fixed by Wildcard with a patch but I ran this boss about a week or 2 ago and still put my inventory inside one of my Rexes, some of the other people I went with didn't do this and lost everything XD. Hopefully it gets fixed soon! Sorry for the long reply haha.

Having played SE for a short time on ASE I would like to add that you can build whatever kind of base you want and put complete adobe buildings inside of it and whenever it gets too hot you just find your way to one of those adobe structures and take comfort that not even a rex can get you if creatures agro onto you while you are inside.

Do you mean honeycombing it? like as in metal walls on the outside and adobe on the inside? Because that is what I used to do in ASE, it doesn't appear to work in ASA however. Or at least not the same way if it's even possible, as I tried to do it the old fashioned way like in ASE XD....I'm not really a good builder so I'm still unsure if it's even possible to do in ASA...don't even think sinking foundations work anymore.

@@BEYPlaysGames Well. I said that originally in relation to ASE not ASA. Yea honeycombing but I put roofs on the adobe structure and completely enclose it complete with doors where I dont need walls. I havent tried it on ASA yet as Im currently homeless. I havent even had a good way to power my PS5 since before the end of March.

My first ever map on SE was scorch earth I hated it did not want to do play it any longer than I had to I was awful. Now and maybe because we had the island for so long, after playing scorch and failing at it miserably I’m actually getting things done, learning about the map and it’s strengths, I’m actually enjoying it. I play solo on official pve it’s rough alone but once I got that second wind it’s actually a breath of fresh air compared to the island, its more challenging but a lot of things you could do.not to mention the Bobs tales add on if you want to buy or not you could have a good time either way, but as for me I’m enjoying the add on it’s different and also a good little change.

That is the method I typically use after I own a Wyvern but that can be in the later stages of the game which Is why I didn't use it at the start of the video XD

Is there a way to change the brightness of the parasaur ping at all? I struggle seeing the red circle.

You can also get raw salt from dinosaur bones near the oil fields. They're small bones that are all shaped like femur, not the giant skeleton bones.
