Actually, it is a crime punishable with imprisonment in many countries, as it constitutes an ilegal depredation of native species, a great damage to ecosystems and an animal cruelty situation (because the death rate of captured birds is incredibly high, as they're deprived from their natural conditions and resources to thrive, and many perish under the most terrible conditions due to overcrowded cages, dirtiness, infections, a poor nutrition and disease). You're not empathetic nor respectful to these animals. You're a shameful example of how much we need to improve environmental education for the next generations. Finally, in order to briefly respond your question, I summarize it: I teach children and teens about the importance of protecting our natural heritage, avoiding deforestation, denouncing wildlife ilegal trade and recycling.
