Mick Gordon recorded most of the DOOM 2016 OST with a 9 string guitar which is why it's so low. Would actually have loved it if Rocksmith supported 7+ string guitars
@Ducktapejesus6 жыл бұрын
Mick did aquire a 9 string for Dooms sound track but I think he used a 8 string guitar on BFG Division. Or atleast he use a 8 string in DOOM: Behind The Music Part 1
@Rab1dGAMER6 жыл бұрын
JakePriest go see Mick Gordon's DOOM: Behind the music, he himself says he used a 9 string

Yeah but he doesn't mention on what songs he used the 9 string.

Yeah. But he used an 8 on this song
@akumakami97276 жыл бұрын
I've always wondered how do you deal with tunings that low. I mean I use a .80 for A and I haven't seen any thicker guitar strings unless players just use bass strings or deal with the floppy. I need that tension for me personally lol
@Chainbrain6 жыл бұрын
This is actually played at ONE WHOLE OCTAVE DOWN E TUNING. Thank the lord god for my drop tune pedal. p.s. thank you to SheppardOfFire for another fun chart :D
@akumakami97276 жыл бұрын
Yeah... I would say you probably need at least a .80 gauge string, but... I use .80 for A so maybe a .100 :p bass strings for days!

I love the DOOM soundtracks cause playing them are so fun especially when it’s a song like this BFG division, when your just chugging on 1 for SUPER low string. To me that’s just satisfying

A bit late to the party but a little fun fact. Mick Gordon said that he had to buy a 9 string just to record the Doom soundtrack. It was the only way for him to get the tuning just right.

Awesome job man! Although that tone sounds like it has too much mids and doesn't have much punch on the low end, but that's just me being picky lol
@Chainbrain6 жыл бұрын
I can agree with that. The game only lets you save 3 custom tones, and none of mine really worked at this low, so I used the default one in the chart.
@wea694206 жыл бұрын
You can't get away with low end that low lol. It's better to crank the mids to get some more attack and use the first harmonics rather than the fundamentals

It is E tuning, one full octave down. I can only do this on 6 string by using my drop tune pedal. Otherwise, you would need an 8 or 9 string and tune down.

@@Chainbrain Daamn, that's low. I thought Mick Gordon plays this with a 7 string, I'm probably wrong tho.
