Here is a visual demonstration of just how much the factory control arm bushings deflect, vs. our BFI RS3 solid rubber bushings. These RS3 style solid rubber control arm bushings make the best possible OEM+ upgrade for your MQB vehicle. By eliminating the voids in the rubber and having a completely solid rubber bushing, you will gain a significant amount of feel and response during spirited driving, while introducing minimal additional noise, vibration or harshness into the cabin.

Just installed these on my 2018 golf. I had a vibration on the highway over 110. OEM bushing on the passenger side had a few small cracks which increased play. Install went well, new stretch bolts. Th difference is night and day, cornering is much firmer and controlled, the slope from the oem voids is gone. I’d say these bushing should be the first on any shopping list.

VOUCH: I stand by this being one of the single best upgrades you can do to the suspension on these cars...better than lowering springs, rear sway bars, etc. The increased connectivity of these bushings + increased negative camber (from strut mounts) is king for handling, and transformative on a FWD chassis. Even in a straight line: I could hook in 1st gear, from any mph roll, on 245 street tires, when I first installed upgraded my front LCAs...making 320whp/380wtq through a DSG GTI (SE). Let that sink in. The stock deflection is damn near dangerous on the OE LCAs, as the voided rubber begins to slacken and flex like a rubber chicken under steering and torque loads. It's bad in this BFI video; it's so much worse under real-world loads with these cars. My OE bushings were trashed by 40k miles, mostly normal driving and spirited cornering. The actual toe angle would change horrifically under power from the flexing bushings, and would scrub up front tires while producing horrible squeals and wheel spin. Upgraded bushings/LCAs fixed all of this instantly. Folks spend lots of money on motor/trans mount upgrades to battle wheel hop/spin, when they should really be starting here. (dogbone mount/upgrade is the most critical on that front) (LIKE if this comment helped you in your MQB quest for greatness) 🍻 ✌
