Tryed solder paste with universal stencil what a mess it toke to long to clean, tryed soler balls it was nice on in my newbie 4th atempt, never tryed manual im to shaky. Nice job :)

You can master all methods but my advice is try it more with stencil and paste, because it is the fastest way to reball an IC, add paste with your finger little by little until you fill all holes, most important also is to hold stencil flat on the IC when you heat to create balls, use a tweezer to push it down and magnets to hold stencil to not rotate. However when it comes to small IC's I can reball it faster manually by making thorns, I can beat the stencil in such cases, even you can put allot of small IC which you can't do easy with stencil.

How to prevent the IC and the stancil from moving around ? Biggest problem I have
@omtesla2 жыл бұрын
First you need a metallic plate under your working area, 1mm thin can be enough, put a broken piece of jeans on it, put the IC in center under your stereo microscope if you have one, add thin layer of flux on the IC put and fix the stencil, take 2 magnets or more and put on further side from the IC to stick the stencil to the metallic part, push on the ic gently with something and heat with around 130C, take out heat gun but keep holding to cool down the IC, this will create like a glue to make the IC to not move under stencil. The magnets will keep stencil in one place, even as such when you heat to melt the solder paste, you need to push down with tweezers at the IC location because it can lift up the stencil and create a mess. Hope this helps.

Philip is it you? I added you on my facebook group xpertchiplevelrepair, anyways I wanted to ask you i've been trying to deal around with several solder tips from 900M-TI but always the same problem is solder doesn't flow well at first I thought it was the soldering wire composition 60/40 or 63/37 ( and if it had rosin core inside was better, there are others which are RMA Rosin midly activated) , what I found was that everytime I add for example this paste proskit 8s2005 solder flows well on the tip, if I add rosin colophony on the tip solder also flows well but burns fast and leaves residue on tip, this happens with normal tips which have an allow coating on top. Now I had some pure copper tips like you said, and these are the best to solder doesn't have the problems like the other tips. So is it me I'm doing bad initial tinning on the tips? or pure copper tips are the only tips where solder flows ok? take care philip ! Thanks (Y). Before I forget I took from your experience to clean my tips , I added some powdered colophony rosin inside a container with brass peels like you did, and I've been cleaning this way for a long time and it works great, but I thought doesn't the brass peels scratch the surface of the tip?

Hi, Master. Lets suppose that you can afford the best possible metals to make the best possible aloy to solder BGA, IC chips, CPU pins, & all those components that usually suffers high temperatures in motherboards & other circuit boards. Please, tell me; which metals would you like to use for impossible better results? Thx a lot for your time.
