I’ve heard so much about BGC! Back in my day (and I haven’t been home for some time), people would talk about Fort Boni. It was the place to be. Is that right next to BGC? BGC looks really clean and tidy! I also like the greenery! I wonder if they purposely made sure that the metro transit is far from the city to discourage homelessness, street vendors and peddlers. The Metro market market logo looks similar to the Gaisano Malls logo in Cebu (my hometown). I wonder if they’re the same company. I too have dual citizenship and was advised to get a Philippine passport. Enjoyed the video! God Bless!

@@shibby_travels thanks Ivy, yes it is nice and quite the change from the Manila that many including my wife remembers from the 1960’s and 70’s. Yes FB is part of BGC, as well as the old McKinley Hills area, owned formerly by the US Army then the Philippine Army. I give Manila credit for doing a good job managing all this development and enforcing the rules to keep loud trikes and jeepneys out of the area. It’s definitely a city built by Filipinos for Filipinos.

Why are people in the comments so hateful? BGC will exist even without foreigners visiting it. It is a business hub first and foremost, a central business district. How can there be bureaucracy in paying bills when its completely done online? Also I worked in local bank for two decades. Yes there are proper requirements and procedures in place. Where is bureaucracy there?
@Ncollins99Күн бұрын
@@bazookajoe_1 hummm, I pay my Meraclo, water and internet at my local SM mall. I wish I could pay online but it’s not always available, at least to Expats. Mind you it’s a very minor complaint, an observation more so. Being in my 60’s I remember when in the US all we had was pay in person options too. Times do change and I am sure the same will improve here in the PI too.

@@Ncollins99Yes We admit that corruption exists in this country and its not something to be proud of. But I just think its unfair to say there is "bureaucracy" in paying bills and in people working in banks, as if youll never get served and treated fairly unless you know or pay someone to make it easy for you. Mobile banking and online payments are always available for everyone's convenience. My point is --people who are watching these vlogs, they choose to believe everything you, vloggers say and sometimes puts the country in a very bad light....Yes there may be flaws in the system, but its not as if we havent done anything right. No wonder when I watch other vlogs made by foreign content creators, people from the West (who never even went to the PH) would say the NASTIEST THINGS about us. Sad
@Ncollins99Күн бұрын
@ hang on my friend, first off everything in life has pros and cons, the US has many as does the Philippines. To not mention even a ‘minor’ annoyance, such as excessive paperwork, is doing any non Filipino a disservice by not making them aware that the country isn’t perfect and to expect certain annoyances. I am sick of watching KZbins who advertise foreign destinations, particularly ones that take 14-15 hours to fly to, as “perfect’ paradises. It’s wrong and sets the Philippines up for failure because people will not return or worse not explore the wonders of the Philippines. You tell those Kano’s the truth, things are not perfect here but the beauty outweighs the annoyances The strength of the Philippines is its people and their ability to recognize the issues, fix them and make things better for all.
@Ncollins99Күн бұрын
I’ve been coming to the Philippines since 1985 and was here through the People’s Power Revolution in 86. The country has come a long way since then and has grown safe for Filipinos and foreigners. It will continue to get better as long as people politely express their concerns and voice their opinions. I am guessing you have not watched any of my other 15 videos about the Philippines. Videos that explain the uniqueness of the Philippines and its resilient people.
