Hey Curtis? What would you do if you built some simple floor shelves for a bedroom. I don't see enough simple things on KZbin and your queen sized bed frame and headboard were super great to make. I bet you could do something good and easy with that idea.
@CurtisMadeIt9 ай бұрын
@nave747 Hey Evan, have I seen you here before? Your name feels pretty familiar... Simple floor shelves for a bedroom...this is an interesting idea. I don't have the time to spend on this at the moment as I'm working on a very large very custom order for some executives at a Fortune 10 company, but I like this recommendation. Get back with me a little later this year and I'll see if I can get something put together. Thanks for your time and support here my friend, I mean it 🤝
@nunyabiznes39019 ай бұрын
If this had a headboard the full width of the bed, I doubt it would tip. Alternately, maybe putting little legs at the outer corners at the head of the bed would help, although it might damage the floating look a bit.
@CurtisMadeIt9 ай бұрын
@nunyabizness3901 Hey Nunya, thanks for your recommendations here. I like your optimism and would like to put a headboard on this twin size, but I haven't gotten around to trying it out yet. I'll make sure to let you know how it goes once I get around to it. The legs on the corners are gonna be a no go for me. I like the 'floating' look and I'm too terrified of kicking the bed post. The thought of a broken toe from the bed post was the inspiration for *all* of these floating bed frames posted on this channel. I appreciate your time and support here, I mean it 🤝 Come back and talk to me again down the road.

I built your king bed It’s been holding up great 🔥 you think I can build a twin xl and attach it to the king base?
@CurtisMadeIt9 ай бұрын
@swaybanz2975 Hey Sway, awesome my friend! I'm glad to hear this. As far as the twin xl and the king base, I'm not totally sure. I'd want to look at the exact dimensions of the build before I could recommend you go forward with it. I only built this twin size because of literal hundreds of requests for it on the other floating bed frame videos posted on this channel. I think with a box spring and mattress on there, this twin size will end up being pretty stable, but just the frame is not *nearly* as stable as I'd like it to be. The full/queen/king size frames I can walk all around and they don't tip at all. That's what I'm trying to avoid and I was *super* reluctant to try to build a twin size, but I think it's functional. Let me know exactly what you are trying to do and we'll come up with something that will work for you. Talk again soon 🤝

If you have carpet in the bedroom you’re making the frame for, and you’re sure it doesn’t have flooring underneath or you don’t care about the floor underneath, you could fasten it through the carpet into the subfloor so it will never tip. You won’t know you ever screwed into the carpet. Hand full of pocket on the inside of the frame, and won’t cause any harm.
@CurtisMadeIt4 ай бұрын
@michaelkolkmeier7400 Hey Michael, this is actually a pretty good idea, not one that I've previously considered! I don't know of a lot of people that would want to do this, but this is definitely an idea to be considered under the right circumstances. If you've seen any of the other floating bed frame videos posted on this channel, you'll know that I build them sturdy enough that I can jump all the way around the perimeter without any issues of tipping at all. This twin size floating bed frame was one I built due to sheer number of requests. This frame is very long and narrow and it wasn't an easy task designing it to be as sturdy as it is. I hope the video helped you though and I'm glad you took the time to stop and talk with me and leave us your recommendation here. Thanks for your time and support on this channel, I mean it 🤝

Hey Curtis, do you leave the floating bed how it is or do you screw the frame into the wall studs at the end?? Btw great videos!!!
@CurtisMadeIt3 ай бұрын
@_yungnrecklezz_127 Hey Reck, thanks so much. I'm waiting for you guys to tell me! I don't have a twin size mattress so I just built this example and posted the video for everyone due to *extraordinary* demand from other viewers on this channel on the other floating bed frame videos already posted here. I don't think you'll need to secure it down by the time you get the box spring and mattress on there, but if I'm wrong, I definitely need to know so I can advise future visitors. I appreciate you time, support, and feedback here, I mean it 🤝

Nice video! Is it possible to do this without the box spring?
@CurtisMadeIt10 ай бұрын
@OwensLifts Hey Owen, you can but I wouldn’t recommend it. Others have used plywood with holes drilled or cedar fence pickets spaced slightly apart to let the mattress breathe, but I always recommend the box spring. I hope this helps. Thanks for your time and support on this channel my friend 🤝

Hey there Curtis! I came from your full size tutorial as I saw you replying to a comment saying something about using the L shaped corner brackets for attaching the base as it is more stable. Would that still be the case? I plan to make the full size frame for a school project of mine and I can’t wait! Love from Canada 🇨🇦❤
@CurtisMadeIt3 ай бұрын
@trixinity8735 Hey T, thanks for stopping by. I've moved to recommending those 2" L shaped corner brackets because in my opinion they are a whole lot more user friendly. You'll need 3" screws at all the wood junctions and 1 1/4" drywall screws to secure those L brackets to the base and the frame. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else. Feel free to contact me on instagram curtis_made_it. I hope you have a safe build and get a great grade! Make sure to show your classmates where your idea came from. I appreciate your time and support here my friend, I mean it 🤝

@@CurtisMadeItI was also wondering what screw’s you used to screw in the joists for the bigger frame.
@CurtisMadeIt3 ай бұрын
@trinity8735 sorry for the delay 🤦♂️ go with 3" wood screws at all the wood junctions(where the 2x6's run in to each other) and use 1 1/4" drywall screws to secure the L shaped corner brackets to the base and the frame. What else you got for me...? Have a safe build.

How much was the wood and what led did you use?
@CurtisMadeIt2 ай бұрын
@Josh-c7i Hey Josh, the wood was pretty cheap, certainly less than $100, but you will still need screws, corner brackets, and the lights. The LED lights I used are linked in the written description of this video. That is an affiliate link, so, if you click on it and make a purchase, I'm gonna get a small commission from the total sale. This is one tiny very painless way you can help support this channel even further and of course, I'd very much appreciate it. Let me know what other questions you have. @CurtisMadeIt10 ай бұрын
@yato2840 Hey Yato, apologies for the delay in my reply here. You are looking for the full size floating bed frame. A video for that size is posted here on this channel. That is going to be the one that is the closest to the dimensions you have listed here, though you will have to alter the measurements a little bit to get it to fit more correctly. The USA full size measures 54" by 75" and your 140cm x 200cm is roughly 55" x 78 3/4". Let me know if you need any help making the adjustments, I'm on instagram Curtis_made_it. I hope you have a safe build and I'll talk to you again soon my friend 🤝

May I know the distance of the first joist from each end?
@CurtisMadeIt10 ай бұрын
@anathrobin Hey Anath, thanks for your question. If I remember correctly, I think the over hang at the head and foot area of this bed frame was like 5 or 6 inches...maybe 5 1/2 inches on each side. I hope this helps. I appreciate you stopping by and supporting this channel 🤝

@marcconradi2339 Hey Marc, good question, thanks for asking! Here in USA, where there are about 330 million people, we use the imperial measurement system. Around the rest of the world, where there are billions of peolpe, they seemingly use the metric measurement system. After having posted many floating bed frame videos on this channel, I've learned that the metric audience is far greater than the imperial audience. I tried my best to include both sets of measurements next to each other here so that everyone is able to follow along and build their own as desired. I hope this helps. I appreciate your time, interest, and support on this channel. I mean it, thank you 🤝
