There are many fuel cars there that do race, but they are more modern "nostalgia" cars. There are a lot of gassers and others there racing that are actually old race cars. There are a lot of these old fuel cars in the pits that only run for a few minutes every few hours to draw a crowd and then they shut them off. Many years ago when the Hot Rod Reunion first came to Beech Bend there was a fuel dragster there that was running a real SOHC and he was racing it hard. That's one pretty car. Wasn't it nice when every dummy with a Honda wasn't always talking about HP numbers. So many old cars never rolled onto a dyno and the mystery of it is just fine. All you need to know is that it's probably more power than the old slicks can handle and that's plenty.kids today are warped into thinking if you aren't putting a thousand to the wheels then you don't have anything special and most would be crying if they ride in something with a legitimate few hundred HP.
@fortcrafterbossbehold90273 жыл бұрын
Fun fact, as a JDM and vintage dragster guy I can confidently say, it was never Honda guys who used to blabber about HP numbers. In fact they get ostracized twice as much as the vintage muscle guys since they only have small 4 cylinders as they can only afford little fuel (I wanted to get a Honda Civic from the early 90s, stock, but I didn't because the car community would never let me live it dow). Those responsible behind this trend are actually the high end JDM guys (Supra's and Skylines) and modern domestic muscle boys (Mustang 5.0 and ESPECIALLY the Dodge Hellcat dudes)...
