It is possible for grain spawn to grow within 2 hrs of lime pasteurisation.

Hey thank you for this and the previous update video man. I want to try this at home but quick question, what did u do to the bucket after it already harvested? Can it still grow another batch of mushroom or can it be used as spawn for another batch? Thanks in advance man!

After you harvested the first time more will grow. Eventually it will slow down and they wont grow as big. But after the first harvest, you can mix the straw in the bucket with more pasteurized straw and create more buckets.

Hey guys, I've watched the entire mushroom series but I'm confused on one key point and hoping you can fill in the gap. In the very first video the other gentleman said to get the mold spore/mycelium (spelling is hard, lol) from that kit at HomeDepot. I have that kit BUT my kit doesn't have instructions on it to turning it into a huge new 5 gallon bucket of mycelium to sprinkle through more 5 gallon buckets and hay like what you you have done. Please tell me how to do that step so I can grow mushrooms. Thanks in advance!

do a layer of straw in the bucket then do a layer of mycelium and just repeat til the bucket is full

I think you have to grow the kit and use that for the bigger bucket. So add it to the bigger bucket before it makes the mushrooms. The Mycelium will keep growing until it produces mushrooms.

I thought I was following instructions, had nice mycelium going, but after 12 days, there's some kind of black mold on the very top layer in the bucket. Is this thing dead? Chuck it or save it?

As long as the top is not a full layer of black and has a bad odor I would let it ride out. I've see all different colors on the top layers of my buckets and everything is growing out.

Hey thank you for the useful info. Quick question, I see you sterilized your substrate in a previous video using pickling lime. Can I sterilize grain for spawn the same way? Using pickling lime salt?

I've never tried it. Wouldn't hurt to put some in a mason jar and see how it goes. Make sure you use pickling lime and not the pickling & canning salt bc I saw both at Walmart and the look very similar.
