Revolutionary freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar were sentenced to capital punishment by the British government for their activities on March 23, 1931, at the Lahore Jail.
In this video we have deeply discussed the ideas, struggle and writings of Bhagat Singh. We also discussed the ideas that shaped his ideologies and how he fought against British Imperialisms. In our current political scenario of Pakistan mostly people are oblivious to the struggle of Bhagat Singh due to unavailability of text about his struggle in history books.

I recently visited Hussainiwala border & learned about its history pertaining to our freedom struggle. Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were hanged and then dumped by the Sutlej banks in the village by the British. The place holds a special place in our heart for our fallen martyrs. Interesting, Hussainiwala originally went to Pakistan in the partition but India got it back in 1961 by giving 12 of its villages to Pakistan. This village was of such great importance to us because of what it signified. I’m glad we have always celebrated & revered our heroes in India.

A border ceremony with Pak takes place there everyday same as Amritsar, and i actually found this one much better due to lesser crowds. Hi Syed Mazammil Shah, This is a master piece analysis of Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s life and his thinking. I don’t think any Indian or Pakistani has studied Bhagat Singh to the extent you have done. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this commentary. There is a good reason why political leaders have not embraced Bhagat Singh and have not included his life story , his writings in detail in our history text books. India and Pakista have both ignored Bhagat Singh. Our leaders want to develop puppet societies. They want people to be intimidated by their leaders so that there is absolutely no criticism of their policies and corrupt practices. Thank you for enlightening about the thought process of Bhagat Singh. Most people in the subcontinent feel Bhagat Singh fought a losing battle against the British government and was rash in his approach. He is revered for his courage and patriotism. There is much more to Bhagat Singh than just these attributes. Thank you for enlightening us. I am from India and we celebrates his life by reading his work, watching movies and dramas on him, through the ellocution, discussions and debates in schools and universities. This vlog have shown a facet of his personality of a young atheist intellectual revolutionary person. But as far as I read him, he was not a guy one can put him in one catagory or label like “socialist” or anything like that. He was a free guy in true sense. He couldn’t limit himself to an identity, not even as an atheist. He used to read Bhagwat Geeta in his last days which is a pure Indic philosophy, a guide of spiritual way of life and a part of a Hindu holy book “Mahabharat”. And it was the reason behind the all those motivation he got, the fearlessness he had.

When I was a kid in ealrt I watched a movie ' The Legend of Bhagat Sigh 2002' with my parents cause they told me who Bhagat Sigh was. At that time everybody in my class knew about Bhagat Singh. The movie portyaed the scene of Bhagat Singh reading 'Lenin's Book' was potrayed beautifully. It was a masterpiece. What I like about Indians is this they remeber their heroes with proud. We Don't.

Thanks for talking about Bhagat Singh. In India, he is respected but only namely so. Anytime you speak of his ideas and beliefs, these people would label you an anti-national or a communist. He was an atheist, a revolutionary, a thinker, a poet, a socialist, and above all a fighter who spoke not only about the freedom of the body but also the mind. He spoke of communal unity. Farmers and workers rights, free thinking and not making gods out of people. Everything we seem to have given up on in today’s India. That being said, some of us dont and wont forget. But as I understood it, what the original commentator meant was that today, if you ask someone in India if they know about shaheed Bhagat Singh ji or respect him, they would most likely say yes. But only few people would know about his ideals and his philosophical ideas which were underlined very well by Mr. Muzammil in this video. Like he said, "merciless criticism and independent thinking are necessary traits for a revolutionary" and that no one is infallible, no matter how much they are loved by the masses. If you see the situation in India today, even slight criticism of government irks majority of the people supporting it. They straightup label those having a different opinion as anti national or communist. So, "respecting" Bhagat Singh ji as a freedom fighter on a somewhat shallow level is different from respecting him in true sense by following his philosophical ideas. Yes, you can very well have a different political ideology but if you say that labelling people, name calling and wanting to hear only good things about the government is a part of your political ideology, I will perhaps have nothing more to say. Bhagat Singh ji might have been a socialist politically, but his philosophical beliefs are entirely a different matter which we all should respect if we want to respect him in true sense. So let's agree to disagree, but respectfully. Also, in my humble opinion, not labelling someone else's opinion as "nonsense" straightaway is crucial if you ACTUALLY want to have a civil and constructive discussion with them. Thanks.

It's such a nuanced video that you have created. One point I'd like to add humbly here is; Bhagat Singh was the first person to present the philosophy/structure to the Government, if Hindustan was liberated ever, through HRSA. In fact, it was much before Congress even asked for 'Puran Swarajya' (Total Independence) in 1929, Lahore. The Socialist structure then was partly adopted by Nehru after we got Independent. Yes, one thing pricks me even today~ my heart nurtured some ambitions for doing something for humanity and for my country.I have not been able to fulfill even one thousandth part of those ambitions. If I live I might perhaps get a chance to fulfill them. If ever it came to my mind that I should not die, it came from this end only. Back in the days when I was in Law college, we friends made a pact that if we ever get a chance to go to Pakistan, we will visit sardar Bhagat Singh's home in layalpur. I cried reading about him during my school & college days. People have always been a critic of nehru & Gandhi but not a single Indian have been a critic of Bhagat Singh. His ideas stood the test of time. He is loved by 1.4 billion Indians.

But Bhagat Singh also praised Subhash Chandra Bose.SCB also fought for Indian Independence.He even gathered people also said Bhagat Singh shouldn't get hanged.He also said no one can deny his patriotism.Gandhi also tried to save him by negotiating with Viceroy Lord Irwin.

In Lahore the boundary wall of nasir bagh holds a plaque of Lala Lajpat Rai. The plaque wasn't there when I last visited because Municipal Corporation removed the boundary wall but forgot to honor the place where Lala sahab was beaten.
