@@mmamultiverse75 If Buddhism is a different religion then dozens of ancient Indian philosophies Dwaita, Adwaita, etc all can be separate religions. Buddha cleaned up the religion that was made corrupt in sacrifices and rituals. He merely put the above scripture into practice by giving principles of life. He urged not to talk of god etc as sticking to principles is your actions devoid of rewards (who rewards and how?)

How can a mother not be attached to her offspring all through life? Only a complete selfish person can distance himself/herself from the issues of life. Love needs attachment.

@@Karma_connections Detachment from material world will not help the mother to provide for her child. The material resources to provide for her child comes from the real/material world. People who detach themselves from the real/material world are irresponsible.

One of my greatest appreciations of stoicism is that we are not afraid to learn from other beliefs. It lets us understand how to be better

Bhagavad Gita is not a text, none of the ancient work is a prose, Gita literally means Song. Bhagavad Gita is poetry (Song of God) , a Poetry within the Poem Mahabharata, the longest poem ever written to this day. Story of war with characters reincarnated from centuries prior Ramayana another poem the second longest poem to this day of different era many centuries prior to Mahabharata. Sometimes, I feel Harry Potter, Lord of rings all super hero are copied in parts as these poems have all elements of time travel, mystic powers, weapons and definitely not a single word on "Hindu"as that is most recent word coined by Persians. That was vedic era

All right, I would want these quotes to have citations. Because I want to read them in their context of the text. Like "Bad news: Relationships can be complicated". Where in the Bhagavad-Gita does it say that? :)

That’s what’s up, as you can stoics had little to offer, no principles and fundamentals on money, prosperity and progress, this is why doing a diversity of major religions is more beneficial than just isolating your self to Greeks and Roman’s, whom we know sucked in many aspects of life. The Dhammapada from Gautama Buddha is a good read, the Bible and Quran are stellar and the Gita is also promotes wealth and abundance. Best teachings and verses comes from David’s pslams, the suttas of Gautama, proverbs and ecclesiasties from Solomon, the chapters of Job, parables of Jesus, meditations of Marcus, and some surahs from Muhammad, these people have some of the greatest teachings on life.

Those who follow only 1 religion are hypocrites. If they truly believe in a Creator, they would acquire knowledge and information on all known religions.

The stoics have nothing really to offer, no modem, no principles and no fundamentals on money, time management and progress. They taught how to be contempt, and not want, to be silent and not offend. David and Job them always asked, they made supplications, they made complaints and prayers. This is also they’re rhythm, a modem of work consistently through the week, having good hygienes, having good ethics and priorities of the statutes and commandments come first.

Is it realistic to live as human and not hope, not want, not get attached, not suffer? I want to understand the wisdom of the Gita but I can’t reconcile it’s teachings with how to live a full life.
