this is a great podcast. Loved this format without edits. 43:26 It's a misconception that the Pakistani army targeted Bengali Muslims. I was also under this assumption until recently. While they did hunt down Muslim especially Muslim intellectuals at the beginning of Operation Searchlight, the majority of the Pakistani army's medieval savagery was borne by Bengali Hindus. Their homes were marked with yellow 'H' signs, and 90% of the refugees in India were Hindus. The army used Hindus as scapegoats to keep Bengali Muslims in line.

This interview could have easily been the best I’ve ever seen or heard, if not for the interruptions from Sagorika Sinha and at times by Roshan Cariappa while Mr. Sood was discussing critical topics e.g. engineered chaos in the neighborhood. It’s rare to have the opportunity to listen to a trained intelligence head, and I wish there had been deeper discussion on the implications of the Russia-China relationship, why the U.S. president met with Khalistani leaders before meeting with Modi, and the rise of terrorism in India. The interview started off well, but it seemed overly focused on prepared questions rather than following up on the insightful points Mr. Sood raised

If you realise the statistics given to the public in the country are already, questionable. As far as India positive or shining remember a few decades ago, let's first actually make it positive for every Indian across the country. Travel to tier 2 & tier 3 cities and smaller towns etc. and see how positive things are at the ground level you will get a very rude shock.

Forget India neglecting the neighborhood, India neglected itself until 2014. Previous Indian leaderships should be case studies on how not to do statecraft. It is inconceivable that Mossad was not aware of the massive operation Hamas had planned on Oct 7th involving so many Hamas fighters when they knew precisely where every leader was at any point of time & had tapped into their enemies pagers . Let this sink in, Mossad director under Bibi's instructions not just approved, encouraged Qatar to donate over 1 Billion USD to Hamas , not to the people of Palestine / President Abbas but Hamas & even held indirect talks through Egypt in the past. Top down. Yes, it matters who sits at the top. People at the top can be supportive of our intelligence and armed force assets, or can work against and expose the whereabouts of our assets to the foreign powers. It has happened, demoralizing our forces. Our past leaders have also bought substandard arms and equipment to our forces and pocketed big time from the scams. And yet, some people keep voting for the same people. Has a lot to do with the lack of right kind of education in India. Lot of people to this day are divided on many different fault lines and still suffer from mental colonization. When people wake up quitting Bollywood and too much sport, they will elect the right leaders who in turn can provide the right kind of support to our forces. The forces once given freehand can secure our national interests easily. All depends on the people, they need to decide for themselves what they want. If they put their selfish goals ahead of national interests then Lord Ram help us.
