Beans and legumes are rich in plant protein, fiber, B-vitamins, iron, folate, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, and zinc. Most beans are also low in fat. Legumes are similar to meat in nutrients, but with lower iron levels and no saturated fats.
Whole grains are packed with nutrients including protein, fiber, B vitamins, antioxidants, and trace minerals (iron, zinc, copper, and magnesium). A diet rich in whole grains has been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and some forms of cancer.
Soup Ingredients:
1 cup Beans of your choice, boiled
1 tsp oil
1 tbsp each Garlic & Ginger
1 small onion
2 big tomatoes
1 carrot
2 baby potato or 1 medium
1 celery
1/2 cup Pasta of your choice
2 cups water
Salt to taste
1 tbsp Paprika
1 tbsp Italian Seasoning
Salt pepper to taste

Yum! In the winter, I generally make soup once a week. Black eyed peas are considered good luck, so my New Years meal always includes them. Other good grains to add are bulgur and barley. Thanks for sharing.

I would lose the fat (oil, ghee) if I were to consider trying a weight-loss recipe. Sauteing without oil is a great option, and tasty too.
