Run DMC was competing against Rock N Roll!!!!!! And they WON!!! They made the rock n roll fan’s cross over to Hip Hop 💪🏾
@KtotheG Жыл бұрын
They brought back Aerosmith... but rock 'n roll continued for another decade or so through the '90s. Although, you have some hardcore rock purists who say it died in the '70s, but I think they're talking about guitar rock, because initially rock 'n roll was blues-based pop music, which still continues today.

@@chrisstewart1606 I get Wicked's point because people tend to overlook impact a lot in these discussions. They will crown the latest as greatest when said artist hasn't really proven much at that point. Run DMC was early, so they didn't get to benefit from hip hop's later evolution, but they were also apart of the early evolution, because they ushered in the first "new school" styles after the '70s with the boom bap production sound and hardcore, aggressive vocals.. I think the thing that hurts them the most is that their lyrical style never really updated.. they still had traces of the '70s, but were just bolder. MCing alone had many different sea change moments and they never adapted.. Had they had more longevity and more classics into the later years, they would probably be hands down the best...

OutKast came out mid 90s, they didn't have the internet and engine behind them til their third album. Run DMC hype came mostly cause rap and hip hop was still in it's infancy when they debuted. You can honestly take 3 songs from each OutKast albums that were hotter than anything Run DMC and NWA put out. Also there was no love for southern rap or hip hop when they did it.

Billboard is out of their mind! Wick is 💯 correct that Run DMC is the greatest rap group ever! 1st rap group ever to go gold and platinum 1st rap group to star in a major motion picture with Krush Groove 1st rap group to sell out an entire arena in Madison Square Garden in New York and across the country. 1st rap group to have commercial endorsement’s with Adidas and Coca Cola! They changed the entire hip hop industry and culture and were the blueprint! Outcast is a great group but not number one. Their musical impact didn’t go past the South. Still a great group though. Even if folks don’t like Run DMC as #1, NWA and Wu Tang Clan were bigger and better than OutKast nationwide and globally.

OutKast is the greatest duo ever. Wick said they sold “some albums” nah they sold THEE MOST albums of any group. Does longevity in the rap game counts? What rap group had a longer run? Run DMC dominated the 80s. Outkast dominated two eras of hip hop and Andre and big boi are just better at rapping than run. And how many groups have more classic albums than Outkast and higher peak? Wick said hits don’t matter so what does matter? You gotta look at it all from a totality perspective. And OutKast was way more successful than any group.

Definition: A Group is basically an assemblage of people. It can be understood as a collection of individuals (two or more), who come together and interact with each other, so as to achieve the objectives of the organization. These are the foundation of an organization.
