This video illustrates the home installation of a popular Dual Flush Valve Conversion Kit into an old toilet, replacing the old style hardware and devices in the existing tank. The clip is kind of long, even after editing, however I wanted to show a realistic view of each step, without skipping steps or doing any Hollywood production of the DIY part. The viewer can watch, and decide if this is actually something they want to do, before bringing the box back from Home Depot. . . .

Thank You for your video. I have a toilet that had a dual flush, but it wasn't hooked up, and the handle was just a normal looking handle. Well the handle broke, and No One, not even a Plumbing Supply Store ever seen the setup that was in my toilet. I think the normal looking handle through them off. Anyway the handle broke at the control box. I didn't know what to do except replace everything until I seen your video. As soon as I seen the Zip tie part in the setup, I looked at mine and yep, a zip tie. I cut it off, removed the dual flush part, got a new handle and flapper and it is fixed. I used your video backwards, but because of it my wife is happy now. Thank You! 😊

Awesome instructional video... I am a stones throw away from 70 years old and can do just about anything related to construction. My arch nemesis is plumbing as water is the world's greatest escape artist. Learning videos are a big help for me because reading and following written instructions don't seem to penetrate my thick skull. I have watched and re-watched the part of your video that explains the 4 fine adjustments and how they work together to create the perfect Royal Flush. Any help with this world be most appreciated. After installation and thinking, all was well, I woke up in the morning to water all over the floor.??? I figured out that i need to lower the Overflow Tube so this won't happen again. But: Even though the float adjustment stops the water at least 4" below the flush button is, (where the water leaked from the tank) the water slowly rises above the float valve and overflows. The lowered overflow tube keeps the excess water from overflowing, but this is a waste of expensive water. What could I have done wrong to make the cutoff valve malfunction, or maybe I have a lemon factory reject. Please Help this drowning worn-out old dawg from another flogging from his loving wife. 💧💧 💧 😂 Any other videos that anyone can recommend on the adjustment process for this seemingly complex most awesome flushing system?

Excellent instruction. Liked the TIPS - replacement TIE wrap for easy installation & adjustment, and CLEAR FLUSH LEVELS of WATER USED iIN TANK. Saved a few buck down the drain eh! Cheers.

Great video, much better than the 4-5 min ones others have posted, well worth the time. Tearing my toliet down to the inlet pipe and floor drain due to a leak I am not sure where is. Using Dalco parts as much as possible. On a A.S. 1.5 gpf. Just tired of taking this apart for it to just leak again 6 Mos later. Appreciate any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks again.

I thank you very much for taking your time to record very detailed instructions to install this system. I never read the instructions that came with package. I just followed your steps and it worked out well. I do have one question to ask--my number 2 flush works fine but when I try 1, it doesn't flush properly until I hold the push button inside for longer time!!! What could be causing this and how can I fix it? Thanks again

I am slowly losing water from my tank in between use. It seems like I have it seated well but it won't stop that slow leak into the bowl. Any recommendations on what to try?

Most likely one of two possible issues - The flush valve is leaking water from the tank into the bowl, Or - the fill valve is stuck and wont shut off, constantly running. If it starts and stops it's probably the flush valve seal (used to be called the flapper seal or flapper)

That tank looked like it needed a good cleaning... the bolts were rusting and the fill line below could have used a new replacement too... they don't cost much. With the bolts out, you could have also replaced the tank to bowl gasket while you're at it. Why didn't you replace them?

In North America Dual flush toilets will NOT SAVE YOU MONEY! Why - because there flush valve is a lot more likely to leak than a single flush toilet. ( A leak will quickly use any saved water and a lot more). When they do leak, the repair parts are 3 to 5 times more expensive than for a single flush toilet. Bottom line is that a dual flush toilet will cost you more money both to buy and operate as well as to repair.
