I feel her despair. I did gymnastics and ballet for quite awhile, and I loved it, but I had an accident that resulted in a devastating knee injury (bucket-handle meniscus tear, MCL and LCL tears, and needed surgical repairs). I couldn't come back from that; been almost 15 years, and I have chronic dislocations, pain and weakness. Some injuries you just don't come back from, and you know that as an athlete. The sorrow of knowing all your work could be gone, it's heartbreaking.

I'm so sorry you went through that. I definitely relate. Knee injuries, particularly where the meniscii are badly torn with issues involving depletion of cartilage, are among the most devastating for dancers, gymnasts, and athletes generally. What exactly do you think "better medical staff" was going to do for her? And who would these better medical staff people be? Certified Athletic trainers know what they are doing. The athlete was clearly aware that she damaged her ankle , I don't know her history but she appears to be reacting to a reinjury or a similar injury from her past and she knows it's probably going to involve surgery and close to a year of rehab. That's an emotional reaction that anyone would have. Within minutes she stops crying and sits up. When she hears the fans cheering for her, again, she cries (I don't blame her). End of the day, the trainer is trying to stabilize the leg and watch for signs of shock. Then it's off to the hospital for xrays, MRI and plans for surgery.

@MakeupautistАй бұрын
The injury does not have to be visible on the outside. Depending on how sensitive the joints etc. are, you can get injured quickly. I did rhythmic gymnastics myself and unfortunately had to stop because of a lumbar spine injury. You couldn't see the pain from the outside, but it didn't feel good on the inside and, especially when you play tennis, you need very good legs and feet to be able to hit the ball. And you also have to run, and it can often happen that if you run to the left and suddenly to the right, your heels, ankles etc. give way and you tear a tendon.

Now I’ve been reading these comments about this girl and how what happened to her isn’t a big deal. Now think about this, you want to play a sport, maybe tennis, basketball, baseball, or whatever sport you want to play, and think that there are no injuries that go along with the sport you choose to play, but there are. Pain is real people, even I’ve been there with jump rope. I gave myself shin splints from that, and was it painful? Yes it was. I knew it wasn’t the end of the world, but it was painful. So this pain she’s experiencing is REAL and so is the struggle. So quit calling her a drama queen or any other negative name. Be mindful of others

That poor girl her pain had been so terrible I can't imagine 💔💔💔💔💔. It needed very long until they brought her out of the hall... I am not sure if the woman was the best choice moving her and sat her in the wheelchair. For my opinion they better had waited for the ambulance and carrying her in a laying position...

Great medical care. It probably hurt like hell, but only in the short run. She'll be better for it and will have saved her more pain. And great sportsmanship for her opponent to stand by the entire time Bianca is being treated. And great choice in not showing her injury in this video. It was unnecessary. Bravo! 🌹

I broke my ankle on court 6 months ago and I still can’t play matches. It still hurts, I still can’t run and I burst into tears everytime I see a player hurt themselves on court. Bianca is not exaggerating, nor is she crying because of the pain; she is crying out of anger. The mental side of this is harder. I had the most succesful surgery, yet the healing takes a year. That’s without playing that is..

I think yes the injury hurt but the realization she’s going to be out again for a couple months after not playing at all in 2020 and limited the last two seasons is even more what’s hurting. When she’s at her best she can beat anyone. Can she just get healthy and STAY healthy. I hope so

@shanjones4869 she had 2 torn ligaments, a splint is a reasonable course of action in that scenario. If someone says they can't hold their foot up, yeah they kinda need some type of splint.

Where is the gurney? Where is EMS? These girls play hard. They go all in and they deserve better medical services than what was shown here. If it had been men on the field, would the response been better? That’s the question I asked myself.

Her scream “NOT AGAIN!!” Had more to do with the mental and emotional anguish of once again becoming injured and suffering for months again just to get back to match fitness!! I felt her pain. Wishing her a full recovery and speedy recovery ❤️🩹.

I broke my ankle many years ago... slipped and fell on ice. Sure it's painful. Two people helped me up and I said "oh shit that hurts" and I limped around then drove myself home. But I did not cry from pain... I cried after I took my shoe off because I knew I would have to go to hospital, have surgery and be housebound for many weeks with a stupid cast. Bianca got emotional and thought about her tennis career. She was not in agonizing pain like her screams would imply. Take time to heal Bianca, you are still young!

As a guy who has played a lifetime of volleyball, sprained ankles are very common in that sport. Very painful for the first few minutes, but then that pain dulls out. Lots of ice to keep the swelling down, and with the right treatment, a player can be back in a week. Assuming this was indeed an ankle sprain, and not something else.
@PapaScorch22 Жыл бұрын
You clearly haven’t experienced anything above a grade 1 ankle sprain then. I experienced a grade 2 ankle sprain, swelled to the size of a softball and I couldn’t put ANY weight on it for a week, and couldn’t walk pain-free for nearly a month. Serious ankle sprains don’t go away in a week dude. She’s got two torn ligaments as of today. That’s not gonna heal in a week lol.
@Saugaverse Жыл бұрын
@@PapaScorch22 what you typed is not quite accurate. If treated correctly, an athlete can be back playing very quickly following a sprain. If not treated at all, sure, it will take over a month to recover from a sprain. In fact, it takes 6 months for a sprain to heal 100%, but that doesn't mean you have to wait that long to go back to playing sports. However, as a professional athlete, I am sure Bianca will have access to the best therapy possible. Hopefully she will be able to compete again competitively in a month.

@Sauga Verse - She had 2 torn ligaments in her left ankle. So, NO, she will not be back in a week!!
@Nyquil5 Жыл бұрын
It also depends on high vs low ankle sprain. High ankle sprains can do major damage and even if properly treated can take weeks or months to heal. I've had several during 50 years of equestrian sports and simply missing a step on a porch! Doc said it is sometimes better to have broken it than deal with the damage to the ligaments that occurs.
