This is one of the many reasons I love the MLB. Every player and coach on both sides showed compassion and that they truly cared. The batter certainly showed hurt and sorrow for the pitcher. Everyone showed respect. The fans waited patiently and then clapped as he left the field. That's true sportsmanship and how you play the game like men.

The defining silence and reverence out of respect and class, empathy and caring understanding for Happ was one of the most surreal things I've ever seen in sport. Yes it's MLB and they are professional players competing for a common goal; at the same time, they are human where injuries can happen at any given and unexpected time...no matter what. Period. @BlackCrossLgn9 жыл бұрын
***** Almost, but not the riskiest. Because yes he can get hit by a pitch, but the batter is wearing a helmet so if it hit his head, it wouldnt hurt very bad. But for the pitcher, the batter can hit the ball hard and it probably travels much harder and faster than a pitch when it's a line drive. And the pitcher's head is not protected. The head is the one place you dont want to get hit. Hard enough of a hit, it can lead to a serious concussion or worse.

one of the reasons professional baseball is the most beautiful sport to observe, is because it sits right on top of pure ecstasy and humbling tragedy. I was also at this game with two children about 7 or 8 years old at the time. The sickening double crack as the bat hit the ball and a split second later the ball striking Mr Happ is something I will never forget. In this video, we can see his legs moving. He's in excruciating pain, but he's moving. From the third tier of the stadium, many folks including myself were worried he might have been killed. Many prayers were being spoken in that stadium that night!

It's kind of bullshit that both runners just scored right after he got hit. That's kind of a dick move because those are his earned runs and he couldn't do anything about it

Una posición muy peligrosa, se debe de implementar el uso de careta y pechera para evitar fuertes lesiones

Been there. Done that. Caught a ball while ducking and covering my head. Broke my middle and ring fingers and had blisters on my hand. Never pitched the same.

Imagine all the variables that have to fall in place for this happen.

I agree, he couldn't have done exactly like it happened on purpose if he tried.

Me parece increible que ninguno del equipo de tampa se haya acercado, tal vvez es algo del reglamento
