Since going natural I've wondered about my increased use and disposal of plastic. I wonder if companies to increase their "greeness" will offer incentives for us to recycle or ask us to send in our empties so they can be reused and recycled. Has anyone else ever thought of this? Maybe you discuss it on Curl friends? Luv ur videos Bianca! Here every Sunday like clockwork lol Happy Sunday!

Type 4a/b. DevaCurl is my favorite line because the stylers are water soluble. I get five day hair and can re-wet and re-style with ease. I use the Decadence to Condition, B-leave-in and Arc Angel to style so three products on the shelf. For cleansing + deep conditioning, I follow the max hydration/curly girl method so a lot of my products are natural/multi-purpose like kinky-curly shampoo, Redmond clay, urban hydration cleanser, jbco + olive oil blend and an egg + Honey deep treatment.

I hoard hair products myself. It has gotten out of hand, and for me to say that... yeah, a lot of products! I bought when things went on sale, mostly, and just stocked up. Now I can wait on a good deal and I don't have to buy when I don't need to. That's the good thing about it. I work with a FIFO system though (first in first out). I put my newest bottles in the back, so the oldest get used up first. This way I don't waste stuff.

Silicones not are all bad, there are water soluable silicones that wash away with just water. They are usually listed PEG before they tell the name of the silicone and the non water soluable silicones can be washed out without sulfates if your non sulfate shampoo has Cocamidopropyl betaine Coco betaine Cocamidopropyl hydroxysultaine Lauryl hydroxysultaine Sodium cocoamphoacetate Sodium Lauroamphoacetate
@fabulously6957 жыл бұрын
NLT4Ever #1 I don’t agree. The main reason I tell my clients not to use silicone is because the are inorganic and pollute the environment. Coco betaine And other gentle cleansers will not remove silicones efficiently, it will take a good several dozen washes. Stick to something like Boucléme, devacurl or Trepadora and you’ll have no problems!
@nvrnakednails12317 жыл бұрын
Fabulous I totally agree! Not all sulfates are created equal, and just bc you wash with a certain sulfate one time doesn't mean that the silicones are totally washed out of your hair. I look at not using water insoluble silicones this way. If my ultimate goal is healthy hair I don't want to use something that will give my hair the "appearance " of being more healthy than it really is. Plus if dryness and moisture retention are a problem then using products with insoluble silicones will further exacerbate the problem. Just easier to not use them ya know.
@nvrnakednails12317 жыл бұрын
NLT4# Ever I think that I know exactly what article that you're referring to on NaturallyCurly, but then they have another article that completely says the opposite, idk it's confusing. Suffice it to say for me and my do I'm cool on all insoluble silicones.
@fabulously6957 жыл бұрын
nvrnakednails1 I meant silicone on my entire post lol! Typo, and as a stylist, I can tell when a client uses silicone or not, even ‘soluble’ silicone, it just feels coated. Don’t use them unless you are using direct heat(flat irons/straighteners, curling irons/tongs, high heat drier with a metal brush etc)

hey I was just in sallys today and saw they have a new shea moisture product! it's the "shea moisture red palm oil and cocoa butter curl stretcher'' line. shampoo, conditioner, and curl stretching pudding thing. can you please review them!?!? I don't see them on the Internet ANYWHERE but am interested in trying it (the conditioner/pudding). it's in a bright red packaging. if you do review them, can you first try just the conditioner and then the pudding? the directions say both will stretch and conditioner can be left in hair so I wonder if I could get away with just 1 product vs 2
