Notes: -Don’t wash hair with shampoo/conditioner everyday -don’t dry with cotton towel, use microfiber/t shirt -apply styling product to wet/damp hair -use satin pillowcase -use styling products that actually fight frizz -do deep conditioning once a week -cut hair to get rid of stragglers Thanks a million 😁

I’m 19 and my hair has been curly for almost 10 years. No one else in my family has natural curls, and while they tried to help I only ever got half answers. In 9 minutes you explained how and why I need to do these things and I’m so thankful for the help. I just wish I hadn’t taken a decade to finally tackle the mess that is my hair.

OMG thank you! My boyfriend is mixed and he decided to grow his hair out 2-3 years ago and now it's pretty long. I tried telling him how to take care of his hair because I have sisters who are mixed and I would watch my step mama do their hair. Anyways he didnt listen to me and he would just wash it, brush it, throw it in a ponytail and put a durag on it and wouldn't touch it for weeks. Today he tried washing and brushing his hair and ended up getting it super tangled. So I had to sit him down, turn on your videos and start detangling his hair while he watched and listen to your videos. You are a life saver!

Hi I’m a newbie to this curly hair thing. Up until recently, I’ve hated my curly hair because I thought it was ugly and straight hair was the best especially growing up with straight haired siblings and being one of the two curly haired people in my family. My hair is short, frizzy, 3b, and poofy. I’ve come a long way excepting my curls. This has a lot of help on maintaining beautiful, frizz-free curly hair. Thank you!

Satin pillowcases are awesome - I agree! Most curly hair products absorb best with soaking wet hair. You should hear a “wet sneaker” or sloshing-type sound when you scrunch up your hair while applying product. Definitely helps with definition. If I apply product to even slightly drier hair, my curls aren’t as defined.

Great tips, Bianca! Been natural for years and I'm still learning what my hair likes/dislikes. I have 3 hair types that sprout outta my head so it's a struggle sometimes but I'm refusing to go back to relaxers.

For someone who has a lot of frizz and 3b curls, this video was super helpful. Ever since I heard about how you’re not supposed to use a towel to dry your hair, I’ve been using a regular t-shirt for years. I recently bough my first microfiber turban-towel and as soon as I got out the shower I wrapped it up and I kid you not, not even 5-10 minutes after I took it out my soaking wet hair was 80%dry! Amazing because my hair usually takes hours to dry! No more dripping wet hair getting in the way of my styling and getting all over my body and floor post-shower! The microfiber towel is a game changer for hairstyling and I am never going back!!!

*Don't understand how a cotton tee is great when drying hair yet you can't sleep on a cotton pillow? I don't understand this logic. Someone pls explain.*
@pieceofpeace355 жыл бұрын
Well, cotton t-shirts are sometimes softer than pillowcases and when you use the t-shirt you're not rubbing it like a normal towel, you're kind of scooping the hair up in sections and squeezing it gently against your head and the towel. That way you're not rubbing it and you still get the excess water out. When you sleep you're doing the exact opposite; you rub your head against the pillowcase as you sleep and the friction creates frizz. I hope that helps clear it up!

@lorenegross45074 жыл бұрын
@@rawr707 it has nothing to do with the curls because even straight or (kinky for a lack of a better word) hair needs the satin because it (a) doesnt catch our hair and pull it but (b) helps with the oils and moisture our hair needs. All of which is BAD for WHITE hair....thats why they wash their hair once a day we cant do that it would strip our hair of its natural moisture and oils which help our hair grow. So as this White woman doesnt have this problem or even need to understand because guess what its not an issue she will ever have to deal Last but not least last i checked I live in America where we have this little thing called Freedom of Speech you dont like what i have to say click change the station but seeing as you dont have an original thought rattling around in that little brain of yours ill give you a clue and a thought to rub together( hint) Mind your own business Thank you and have a nice day Bye Felicia
@BiscuitMinnie24 жыл бұрын
@@lorenegross4507 first of all being white has nothing to with how curly your hair is, its genetics, so you can be white and have very curly hair. Like mine, if I washed my hair everyday it would strip it and it wouldn't grow as fast. Also, yes you have freedom of speech, but so do other people, so when you post a public racist comment, people have the right to reply. So with that being said, am I not supposed to learn about my curly hair and not take care of it because I'm white?

If you are transitioning to curly hair i would definitely recommend braiding you in simple French or Dutch when you just cant with your hair. I think it is way better then putting in a ponytail or bun do to the breakage that i got sooo much when transitioning into my curls and the braid help keep some texture in because i used to straighten it sooo much too.

Omg this video is awesome. Such a pretty hair❤️❤️❤️ I am Eastern European grew up in the Ukraine where 85% of the people have straight hair so I used to hasaaate my hair , when I was 15 I literally was wishing that I’d go naturally bald so I wouldn’t have to deal with those curls, about a year ago I finally fell in love with my crazy curly hair and decided to grow it out. It’s a long process and I can’t wait for it to be long... this video helps a lot of useful information since I am super new to this but I am excited about this journey and becoming one of the curl friends hehe. Also kind of nervous because I have a LOOOOT of hair and it very very thick but doing the whole curly hair routine sounds very exciting also! And the biggest problem is I have issues with patience and I am scared that I’ll get tired of it and I will just go a get a haircut 💇♂️ because I am gonna be at the “ugly stage” forever I feel like, and also I am not getting any support from friends about it all I hear is you need to cut it it’s ugly it’s awkward etc... but this time I’m so gonna let it grow. I let them cut off my fingers and toes before I let someone touch my hair. Also is it a normal thing when I get very annoyed when someone is trying to touch it? Every single curl is like my baby 👶🏼 now . Does it happen to people with curly hair or I am getting too obsessed with my hair?😍😍😍

I felt forced to wash my hair every other day because after a nights sleep the curls were gone and my hair was just dry and frizzy. Kids in school told me my hair looked like steel wool pads. This is why for the past 20 years now I've been straightening my hair with a flat iron. So I'm completely new to this now that I've decided I want to leave my hair natural. Could you do a length check video to see how long your hair really is?

Paige Ford I know its bad for your hair but, since cirly hair mostly crunches up together in ringlets. You can try every 3 to 5 months and straighten it once to see how long they are. Most curly hair has " shrinkage" so when its naturaly curly its up to youre chin, but when you straighten it could be up to youre shoulders

Amazing info! I love your videos, but please bear in mind that kinky/coily hair doesnt have to be thicker than yours, or thick at all. Lots of people with type 4 hair have really thin hair, but because of the way their coils come together, it might look really thick. I'm in the type 3 range, but my boyfriend is a 4A and his hair is super thin, especially compared to mine.

It's funny how you think I know this I got this down with learning how to maintain your hair but there can be loads and loads of things that you have yet to discover and this is so cool and amazing to think you know everything about your hair but in reality you just know a tiny portion of your hair

My daughter's are mixed with Mexican & white and they both have spiral curly hair. Like natural tight spirals. Helpful they have ringlets almost afro.

Just a tip for people with thin hair. When you pineapple you don't need to wrap the scrunchy more then once just take 2-4 small prices of hair around the ponytail and bobby pin them just next to the scrunchy to anchor it in place 😁
