Absolutley...I am a 100% analog tube amp guy....I tried loads and loads of digital things...plugins...Amp sims..Kemper..AxeFX...I NEVER was statisfied...it was allways like "yes..sounds nice..but feels digital..and feeling digital is not good" then I gave Positive Grid a try (BIAS FX + BIAS AMP2)...and I was blown anway...it is sooo good...I hardly turn on my Amps anymore
@Slears6 жыл бұрын
@Andrei James honestly, I do not much with the soundcloud...I tried a few things...but in generall I create my sounds myself...also recommondations...sound is mostly a point of personal preference...so what I think is absolutly great may not statisfy you very much...just play around with amps an effects...it is extremly easy in the Software. And "sounds better then AxeFX"...erm I would never say that...you have to try for your own...I tried the AxeFX..it sounded killer...but it felt digital (the overall dynamics and response is imho very different to a real tube amp)...but the BIAS Software does this very very well! The first thing I did with BiasFX was to recreate my original setup I use in my Band (the modded Plexi with a 4x12 Orange Cab with V30`, a compressor, a Klon Centaur, a Boss Delay...then I dialed all the knobs like in real life..and BOOOM...BIAS FX sounded 99,9% like my real setup...

@SoupPheasant4 жыл бұрын
It's been a year since you asked. For everyone curious - the interface is Focusrite Scarlett (and from what I can see its 2i2 model). Scarlett use macos native core audio drivers so there's no need to install any other audio drivers for using app or recording. It's just plug'n'play. And of course you can setup all of settings in an app itself. Cheers ✌

Excellent review!!! I've tried various amp emulators including the classic Nigel on UAD-1 years ago. I actually used that to record some tracks for a client I was producing and doing the guitar parts. I'm a valve amp lover and I've got a 74' vibrolux reverb that's phenomenal. I also have a Dr Z Maz Jr NR with a 2 10" cabinet (Dr Z) that I love as well. Problem is that recording at home (or even playing at home) is tough with these amps. I tweaked the hell out of the Nigel and did get some decent sounds, we also brought the tracks back to the main studio and transferred them to the original studer tape with hardware trident and UAD compressors and it really came alive. Okay, long story, but the point is that I've been waiting for Amp modeling to really challenge my valve amps and so far this one is probably the closest. I am enjoying Softube's amps and S-gear, but I think the Bias 2 is drawing me to a decisive point. I think the Elite with the Celestial IRs built-in are worth the extra cost. I wish they had a sale on the Elite right now, but alas they do not ;-)

I've recently tried this out and had similar moments of "WOW!" I think besides what you've shown, is the ability to re-amp any recording you do with it! That Dual Rec sim not quite cutting the mustard? Change it to an SLO and there you go! It really has given me super options for when the writing/recording bug hits and the hour doesn't permit my Jet City HDM to be moving air via 4x12 cabinets!

Sorry, but it's just another amp sim. NONE OF THEM emulate the MIC/Room, and AIR THE SPEAKER IS MOVING. It's this speaker air pushing in to a mic THAT IS WHAT RECORDS great and can NEVER be emulated because it is a, get this, PHYSICAL thing that takes place in 3D, physical reality. I can turn on my Pod XT and get cose to this same stuff. It may FEEL good to your hands and playing, but it does NOT sound like a real amp, BEING RECORDED BY A MiC IN FRONT OF A MOVING SPEAKER CONE. Anderrtons music did a vid comparing the original pod against the Kemper. The kemper sounded only a slight bit better EQ wise, but NEITHER was better at simulating a real amp in a real room pushing and moving a REAL PAPER speaker and moving air in to a REAL mic. What everyone compares and raves about is the EQ setting on these sims and whether they have the TONE of the amp down, but not the RECORDED SOUND of the amp pushing a real speaker, because that can NEVER BE simulated, NEVER. So yep, this Bias amp sounds just like a Marshall, but in 2D, in other words the EQ sohnd is great, sounds lust like the eq spread of a real Marshall, BUT NOT A RECORDED REAL MARSHALL.
