Kindly don't get swayed by these 'SC or ST' labels that only suit the needs of political parties whom rake issues for their votes. And you are 100% correct that "casta" was/is and will be inexistent in Bharat. We had temporary Varnas which were very much labor skills and deeds based along with being character based (Guna and Karma). Not based on birth like the European casta system that they introduced in Indian dictionary during colonial times. There is no high or low in Varna. All are equal. The only rules for Shudras in Manusmriti is 'they're not allowed to read Vedas' but 1000s of rules for Brahmins & upper caste males, starting from where & at what time they should take a shit to god knows what. Not to mention for the same crime men get mutilated while women get house arrest for two weeks. I'd rather be a Shudra woman who doesn't have to follow any rules than an upper-caste man in such a society. I was so shocked that Shudras hate Manusmriti & Brahmins defend it like 'are you seriously out of your mind' , its Brahmins who actually should hate it😂😂😂😂😂.

When your spiritual prowess increases and you are following your acharanas you are already a Brahman and by the way the scriptures and daily life it is evident that people of all varnas have the same ancestors that is *The Saptarishis* . A Vaishya, Sudra, Kshatriya and Brahmana varna practitioners all have similar ancestors like for e.g. Shandilya Gotra among landowners and a stall keeper, Vishwamitra/Kaushika Gotra among Nairs and Iyers ! Why ?! Because we descend from the Saptarishis only. Then how can there be different ancestors for different varna and on whom we differentiate ? Hence we call 'Vasudeva Kutumbakam" (whole world is one family). Even Europeans, Africans, Mongolians etc. we don't consider different - we do consider them as descendants of Maharishi Kashyapa through Manu and Shatarupa. Also it is mentioned in the Shastras that anyone willing to take on any varna can do so officially by taking on Kashyapa Gotra. This is there in the Shastras !

Like they say "When in Rome be a Roman" similarly people from abroad must 'at least try' to become a Bharatiya and live the life, the culture and values and ethics instead of holding on to pre - conceptions. Of course it is difficult with a strong European or western background but it is quintessential to understand an ancient civilization entirely than just sit on the fence and comment. I am not talking about you Ma'am but in general. I belong to Bharat but I have stayed in the west for work and got along with multiple nationalities. In Europe there is a more deeper understanding of India than it is in the U.S or U.K to be honest. The Ramayana and Mahabharata are literally played there in drama theatres. The cultures have a strong bond. It is to be noted that *Indian cultural society strongly DOES tie in with Sanatana dharma which just considers your "Righteous Duty" (support and serve nature, life and spiritual realization) a.k.a Dharma as your only religion.* Hence there is nothing like "Caste" component here which is a European practice altogether. Kindly understand this 🙏 Do visit our lovely and beautiful nation, live the life of an Indian, engage in our culture and traditions and then decide. As per the Hindu scriptures you are already Dharmic because you are fulfilling your everday duty. What more is needed to follow Dharma ? Nature doesn't separate based on skin color or personal culture ! That is Sanatana Dharma. Jai SiyaaRam Jai Anjaneya 🙏🕉🛕🐚🌿🪔☀🚩

People need reservation in getting admission in colleges, reservation in government jobs, reservation in Travelling, as well in elections. To avail these things people started SC ST OBC culture and classified themselves as low caste and get the benefits. Now when the same say themselves lower its ok but when the society says them same they feel offended like hypocrites. This is the bsse reality of caste. In few states more than 50% reservation prevails, in Bihar recently one bill passed for 75% reservation. Benefits of reservation after tagging as low class - Lower school fees Ration for food - Free or subsidized rates Free Laptop, Free Scooty Lower passing percentage in exams with further reservation added Reduced examination fees Reserved seats in colleges Reduced college fees Waived off college fee through certain organisations Reservation in Government Jobs Subsidized Home at lower intestest rates Waive off of loans For farmers no income tax at any income Reserved seats in polling, no other comminity even can fight Now see these are some basic benefits, more benefits still there and then people called themselves weak.

It's a *cultural* issue, not a religious issue. The bhagvad gita did not mention any hereditary caste system, as he said, it's based on the ability of the individual, not their ancestry.
@TheB657 Жыл бұрын
It is not even a "cultural" issue. The Colonials played their divide and rule well over 150 years of their stay in India, divided the society based on "Casta" which was a European construct, introduced that word in our dictionary, introduced "dowry" system via British educated Indians, starved off and killed our ancestors, looted our coffers (which they are still reluctant to repay) and left us with a whole lot of diseases and economically driven misery. This is the TRUTH. You can search for it everywhere. As for what you are suggesting "cultural" - there are chauvinists everywhere in the world whom operate from lower levels of consciousness. Such creeps need to be taught a lesson. As per Sanatana Dharma every living being is our family and every non living being is part and parcel of Mother Nature and worthy of worship. Now I don't know whether the western dogmatic religions teach it this way but Dharma doesn't discriminate.

@@Inner.divinity Bhagvad Gita 4.13 - The four categories of occupations were created by Me according to people’s qualities and activities. COMMENTARY on Bhagvad Gita 4.13 :- The Vedas classify people into four categories of occupations, not according to their birth, but according to their natures. Such varieties of occupations exist in every society. Even in communist nations where equality is the overriding principle, the diversity in human beings cannot be smothered. There are the philosophers who are the communist party think-tanks, there are the military men who protect the country, there are the farmers who engage in agriculture, and there are the factory workers. The Vedic philosophy explains this variety in a more scientific manner. It states that the material energy is constituted of three guṇas (modes): sattva guṇa (mode of goodness), rajo guṇa (mode of passion), and tamo guṇa (mode of ignorance). The Brahmins are those who have a preponderance of the mode of goodness. They are predisposed toward teaching and worship. The Kshatriyas are those who have a preponderance of the mode of passion mixed with a smaller amount of the mode of goodness. They are inclined toward administration and management. The Vaishyas are those who possess the mode of passion mixed with some mode of ignorance. Accordingly, they form the business and agricultural class. Then there are the Shudras, who are predominated by the mode of ignorance. They form the working class. This classification was neither meant to be according to birth, nor was it unchangeable. Shree Krishna explains in this verse that the classification of the Varṇāśhram system was according to people’s qualities and activities.

In India ,the caste system was abolished by the Indian Constitution, but if you go to rural areas in India you will still find cases of discrimination based on caste. It is also not true, that caste system did not exist in Hinduism, it comes from there... in the beginning it was based on abilities of the people, but it became quickly hereditary.This Mr. Lakhani should have told too. ex: Read the Mahabharata ... @TheB657 Жыл бұрын
"Peasants" doesn't mean Sudra and Sudra is actually as per the Mahabharata "a tribe" not even a varna. In Gita the Varnas are divided by *Guna and Karma* not by birth. Hence your families' vocation don't place you in any varna. Always remember Maharishi Adi Kavi Valmiki was a brigand even though born to Brahmans and then became a Maharishi due to intense Tapasya. Similarly Raja Kaushika became Maharishi Vishwamitra via penance and rigorous Tapasya that gave him the title of Brahmarishi. Maharishi Krishna Dwaipayan Ved Vyasa who was the author of the Jaya Samhita/Mahabharata was born to Devi Satyavati - a boatwoman/fisherwoman yet was a Maharishi. Similarly Bhagwan Bajrangbali Sri Hanuman ji is well known as a Janeo dhaari Kshatriya even though his incarnation was in a Vaanara Kutumba/Kula (family/Lineage). So that settles the deal that what people think is 'Sudra' is not what it is as per the scriptures. Now coming to Shastras where special things have been mentioned for varnas, Brahmanas have the highest restrictions of all the varnas due to their engrossment in spirituality and literally anyone who had spiritual consciousness and bond strongly to it and proceeded towards Brahman or liberation is a Brahman. Sudras due to skill based vocations like artists of drama/theatre, sculptors, engineers/Yantravadi, writers/lekhaks etc. needn't perform those austerities as *the vocation was based completely on karma.* So a person can get to Moksha via jnyaana and that jnyaana begins with karma. So those spiritually enlightened used to be related to temple work, those skilled in warfare defended the borders, those mastered in wealth and related studies were businessmen and those who were skilled in an artform or vocation were servicemen. Even now 90% of the world is Sudra. Hardly 4 - 5 % Businessmen/Vaishya, few percent kshatriyas and 1% or less Brahmanas whom may or may not adorn the Janeo. So you needn't be proud of anything else than being a Bharatiya. *You are not connected to the European Casta system. You are connected logic and pure reason called Dharma.*

I've observed that upon my initial interactions with Brahmin individuals both in India and outside, they frequently inquire about my surname and dietary preferences from a vegetarian perspective. They promptly share their own Brahmin surnames, seemingly attempting to discern my caste affiliation. While their intentions may not be harmful, I can't help but perceive this as a subtle way of indicating their caste and ensuring interaction within their own group. This reflects a persisting notion that Brahmins consider themselves distinct (or perhaps superior) and prefer to associate with those of their own caste. Furthermore, if you maintain contact with such individuals for other reasons, they tend to bring up the subject of caste and engage in conversations revolving around it. It may not be visible these days as Jay is saying, but the mentality is not completely gone. It's essential for this community to initiate an internal shift in mindset.
