I think the more humbling and valuable questions to ask are: If any of us existed in the time of Noach would we have realistically entered the ark or been swept away in the flood? If any of us lived during the time of Avraham would we have dropped every idolotrous practice and embraced G-d as Avraham taught? If any of us lived during the time of Moshe, would we have done anything at cross purposes with the teachings of Moshe from the Torah? In truth, we may have been there in another transmigration and done what we now think is abhorrent. There's an implied arrogance that modern people are so much "better than" all of our ancestors. Are we? I think we all need an incredible amount of gratitude and respect for those who came before us, who helped get us to where we are now, closer to Modhiach.

Rabbi, as usual, you are spot on. I had a secular upbringing and whilst in some ways I wish I hadn't missed out on the social aspect of religion, I have realized that there was a massive benefit to it too: I go to church not because of anybody's expectations but because I want to.
@Galuppi728Ай бұрын
You go to CHURCH??? Huh! That is exactly because you had a secular, assimilated upbringing & weren't taught to see all the atrocious differences & violations of "NT" against Torah! I'm not judging; I was caught up in "church" for 40 years as a Xian & later Messianic - after having been groomed for it many years before that! I came out of it, only because I was fed-up with no-one being able to teach me the "why" about all these discrepancies. I studied Torah/Tanakh day & night the last 9 years, and eventually saw enough evidence that Xianity is false, to leave without fear of condemnation or of inadvertently disrespecting "god"! The god of "NT" & i's offshoots is the god foretold by Mosheh in Deut.32. See specifically vs.21 and try recognizing who changes it to being something everyone must join to be "saved" from their doctrine of "hell". Note: Mosheh never says to join that enemy, or any other enemy for that matter! And vs.31 which tells us their god is false, and... ... up to vs.43 in which Gd's wrath on that enemy is what brings atonement for the Jewish blood they spilt (pls study it for yourself). Oh, you may think your generation of Xians hasn't spilt any Jewish blood, huh, but the war of Gog/Magog is still coming, so don't be quite that confident quite yet; the antisemitic replacement theology is still the same, across the board of all jZeus/Isa followers, and can flair up in a moment as it has done many times in history. The only way to free oneself of the accumulated guilt, is to repent of the skewed message & false messiah/god entirely! This wrath of Gd against this enemy, and the resultant atonement it will bring, is in line with the commands in His Torah which says no-one will be forgiven by use of a proxy but that the sinner themselves must repent &/or pay (Ex.23:7; Num.35:31-34)... So many times people repented & were spared, and all without sacrifice (Psa.51; 1 Kings 8; 2 Chron.7:14; Isa.1:27; Dan.4:27; book of Jonah, etc). Sacrifices were penalties, fines, not proxies (study Lev.1-3)! Note also: Gd said Israel would be looooong without priest, king, sacrifices, from the 2nd Temple destruction (Hos.3:4-5) until the 3rd-Temple-Day resurrection of Israel back to The Land (Hos.6:2; Ezek.37; Isa.54; etc). How, then, could jZeus be king when there is no gap, in fact, when he supposedly became these things 40 years before they stopped??! But, with the crowing of the HUMAN End Times' king/messiah of Israel (see Ezek.45:20-22; 46:16, 18 to understand he is HUMAN), the followers of jZeus/Isa etc., will join forces against Israel, and - as Gd foretold in Deut.32:21, 31, 43 - Gd will pour out His wrath on them. Then Israel & the world will know that there is only ONE Divine-King, Gd Himself as ONE; ... and only ONE Name Y-H-V-H... (study Zech.14:9 in context)... ... not a king "jZeus/Isa", not a name "Jesus/Y'shua/Isa", no! And the survivors of the nations that fought Israel will worship Gd & celebrate His festivals, recognizing Israel as Gd's 1st-born son!

Mmm, that's exactly the problem with thinking religion is "progressive", "evolutionary". I was just thinking - when I was listening - how opposite it actually is, and how easily someone will think that their "prophet" / rabbi, teacher, is better than Mosheh, e.g., that jZeus is "better than" Mosheh, yip, it even says so in Heb.3:3 in their supposed "new" testament! So, jZeus didn't think it sacrilege to repeatedly say, "You have heard it said (mostly, except once, quoting Torah)... but I say (every time twisting what was said)"! But, please don't think it will stop there: the snake comes back to bite you... Mohammad thinks he's better than your jZeus! Rather, WE are NOTHING without the Elders, the Patriarchs, and WE must turn our hearts to THEM, and THEY must turn their hearts to US,... which is all about turning our hearts to the ancient Torah given already to Adam & Chavvah and their children, and renewed at Sinai with a few extra instructions specific to Israel in the land, and renewed many times after, and which will again be renewed by the End Times' king/messiah (Mal.3:22-24/4:4-6)! Torah is eternal! jZeus lied about this, of course, by saying he came to bring a sword between this vital relationship, and that he is bringing change to Gd's Torah - huh, as if Gd is as man that He should lie, a son of man that He should change His mind?! Rather, we see relationship with Gd, & Torah-culture, very open & natural from the beginning, which becomes harder & harder to maintain; and we see Gd hiding His face more & more from mankind & revealing it through one man, Avraham, & his descendants; then hiding part of Himself even from the nation because they were unwilling to go up as Mosheh did (Ex.19:12-13). Then, hiding even the teachings of the Elders (Chazal) from most of us, and raising up diligent rabbis who can take us back in time & apply these timeless teachings to our generations & situations! We are dependent on the righteous lineage - who adds wisdom upon wisdom - and can each only inherit a portion of their spirit, or perhaps a double-portion if we're studious & deserving! We need to be extremely humble regarding the righteous generations before us - whether past or still living - our elders. Sure, it's true that we have more unique situations which require more Moses-to-Zelophehad's daughter's type exposition of Torah, but , consider this: without Mosheh's exposition of Torah to Zelophehad's daughters, we - in our generation - are so proud that we don't even think we need such judicial moral & legal guidance! Without the Oral Torah passed down from Adam, Noach would be nothing. He was only something because he honored his elders & the Qabalah (traditions & teachings) passed down from them & through them to him, and considered himself small compared to them, so small that he knew he needed to follow them! Without Noach having done this, and teaching it to Shem, and Shem having taught it to successive generations, and Avraham having learnt from their lives & inherited culture & teachings, Avraham would be nothing (he obeyed many laws, not just circumcision!); Without Yitzchaq having learned from his father Avraham, & passing it down to his sons, and Yaaqov having grabbed hold of it with both hands (yes, that's why Avraham was chosen, because he would teach his descendants to follow all the ways & laws of Gd), they would all be nothing compared to their fathers!!! Without them, and their fervor, teachings to successive generations, & examples of godliness, Mosheh would be nothing, and he knew it!!! He wasn't bringing any "new" teaching, as your false rabbi jZeus claims to have done quite legitimately, huh: he has broken Gd's law in many ways... if he even is a real person that really lived! Without Mosheh's unique ability to take us into the chamber of Gd's wisdom & relationship, every prophet in Tanakh, would be NOTHING! And without all this accumulated brilliance & godliness, every tzadiq in the successive generations would be nothing; we would have no rabbis guiding us today,; And without rabbis guiding us today, we all would be nothing!!! We must just make sure that we are grounded in all that came from Adam on down so that we follow correct rabbis, & follow them correctly (in the way of the ancient traditions)! Gd's revealed presence has not really increased but has decreased. Because of our tendency to sin, Gd had to introduce laws to protect us from sin & its consequences! Thankfully, at the time of the End Times' king/messiah - when Gd's glory & power & fame is known throughout the world because of the victory over Gog/Magog & His bringing about the Greater Exodus - we will return to knowing Gd somewhat as the ancients did, but still in the confines of the Temple & Laws and only because of Gd's display of majesty over His enemies! Oh, if we could only press into Gd & fear Him because of conscience (DNA memory) & being humble enough to learn from our elders - without needing external triggers - we would spare ourselves much grief! uch judicial moral & legal guidance! When we think of Ishmael and isaac... Ishmael name meaning and character mentioned and explained by you is more rational ... Similarly When we think of esau and jacob... Same with Esau.... today we see the decents of esau or the Christian world behind the nation of Israel which existed irrationally throughout their history. Today the world recognizes oneness of god. Don't you think instead of fighting for a piece of land... and supporting a genocide to drive the Palestinians and hamas out of Israel... wouldn't it be more appropriate to bring god down to the earth where ever the jews exist and live today. Today we don't need a prophet to deliver God's message to people. Today we have the internet and many AI programs that can deliver the message more appropriately according to the mentality and behavior of the receiver. Why I say is not at all to criticize any Jewish leader or rabbi. Why I say this is respectable rabbi Manis Friedman to you is because I understand Jewish message from you... when you clearly speaks with authority and with clear guidance from god... and your interpretations of the scriptures and stories are more profound than the teachers and the prophets of the past. We may not call you a prophet... but clearly human beings and Jewish scholars have evolved to that level so that they can speak on behalf of god. Similarly the world have evolved to understand the force behind stars, moon and other consolations which they took as gods before. Now I believe it's time to bring two faith system of Ishmael and esau along with irrational thinking of Jacob and creat a new faith system which can serve humanity without bloodshed. Don't you think this world is ready to sit down and make some reconciliation through Judaism, Christianity and Islam. If this three groups represents the descendants of Abraham whom god chose to shape this world. Is it not time to shape this world more conscious way.
@Y1836YАй бұрын
G-d is not acknowledged as One by a majority of humanity. Or do you negate or overlook those with a three part comcept of G-d? Until G-d is seen One, One with all of His creation, as All, as part of everything, every thing, every moment, every second of an ongoing creation, there is work tp be done before the coming of Moshiach, the Redemption of souls and our eternity here on this then perfected earth with G-d's Essence. Israel is our home with Hashem. It's not simply a piece of land. It's part of our intimate relationship with G-d. Not up for debate, rationalization or discussion. It is our personal business with G-d. G-d chose. G-d decided. Ours is an eternal covenant. Eternal being forever. And ever. And ever. Noone gets to decide that dynamic to be otherwise. Chutzpah to think anyone can supercede G-d's decision.
@Sato-KDFАй бұрын
Jews, Christianity and Islam recognizes this land as the promised land to Jewish people. There's no doubt about it. But when human beings have too much power and influence... that's not the way they behaved. They behaved according to their mind. During crusaders period... you know how they treated the jews and this land. Even during Islamic empire period to certain extend. Today we don't have such forces... we don't even have a Jewish army that can settle all affairs without the aid of USA. But one thing is for certain... people are listening to Jewish wisdom. My point is to say it's time to settle the promised land matter through dialogue... if Jewish scholars initiate... I feel two other faiths with it's scholars and leaders may come together and may find a solution through peace. Clearly USA can change it's strategy when their interest on middle east changes...as gods people I believe when the date for the arrival of messiah is so close. We should seek more permanent solution. Do it have to be so painful as labor pain before the messiah or we can deliver it through water without pain. God knows the best.

Dear Rabbi, I can't help seeing this opposite... yes, we have gained wisdom & we push into Gd because we have to because He has hidden His face more & more... He says so. But, woah, I don't know anyone like Adam, nor like Noach, Shem, Avraham & offspring, Mosheh... not even Yehoshua was quite like Mosheh, perhaps having received just a double PORTION of his spirit! And Mosheh was only like he was because Adam was like he was! And I was about to write this, when I saw some comments from people who seriously think that their "teacher", jZeus, is "better than" Mosheh; & some who think that going to church is more progressive & a reward for being secular! So, I replied to one (who claims jZeus is some magnificent, better-than-all, teacher), as below, ... ... and to another somewhat differently, as briefly here in one paragraph: I him/her I explained that Gd foretold the collaboration of the followers of the god jZeus/Isa (Ezek.37-38) in End Times, in Deut.32:21, 31, 43. In order to tie these together, the reader needs to know (1) how Paul corrupted this in "NT", AND (2) what Xian & Muslim mainstream are saying about Israel & Gd's End Times' king/messiah, & what they plan; AND (3) how Gd's wrath on them ties in with Gd forbidding proxies (Ex.23:7; Num.35:31-34); forgiveness is attained through repentance, NOT through proxies! Thus, one can see that Paul inadvertently - as a foolish crook - left clues for us at his crime-scene. Now for my main answer, my thinking (debate), as I answered someone who claims jZeus is demi-god, wise, progressive sage who has brought greater enlightenment & is a greater tzadiq than all before him... pls see below: Mmm, that's exactly the problem with thinking religion is "progressive", "evolutionary". Rabbi, with all due respect, this teaching is not consistent with the theme of the Tanakh. Surely you know & have read “there is none righteous, no not one (man)-Tehillim 14:3”. You mention Avram and circumcision, but Hashem deemed Avram righteous prior to circumcision based on his faith in Hashem and before Avram had done anything. (B’resheet 15:6). Hashem imparted His righteousness to Avram. Same as all the other men you mention from the Tanakh. It’s Hashem’s righteousness that is TRUELY righteous and it’s only by His mercy and grace that He gives it to a man. The comparisons of human works to achieve righteousness is not consistent. It’s all about Hashem’s imparted righteousness, salvation, deliverance. End of story. Where did you dream up the whole “gates” idea? It has a very concocted vibe.

Rabbi Nachman's teachings can save even the biggest sinners without settling for offshoots, he was arguably a qualified Messiah in his day. Start by finding something good about yourself and say thank you for it! You care or you wouldn't have typed that. Caring is very huge!

@@cantseeusprius9069with all due respect I'm no breslover, so please enlighten me.. How does a rabbi claiming that "you all need me" encourage people to have a connection to g-d? Aren't all other religions claiming the same "you all need so & so to get redeemed, go to paradise etc etc"? Isn't the whole point of torah that we each have a personal relationship with hashem?
