Not only I approved many things they said but my spirit was at peace with every thing. Marian Combs Aside from perhaps an overt culturally conservative outlook which I mostly just chalk up to temperament, I never found or saw what was intrinsically wrong with Lee’s writings. He would emphasize particular things within the growth of the Christian life, expounding on points established by Nee. Personally I’ve found both rather helpful in encouraging me to delve into meditating on scripture while and whenever reading it. I’ve found the skepticism afforded to either Nee or Lee as being unnecessary, and critical, without properly referencing their writings which by and large are reexaminations of already orthodox beliefs. I did come across a comment of a person who had said the followed Lee for a long while, and disagreed with one of his last sermons in which Lee put forth transubstantiation in communion as something that happens for the believer. Though they did not refute the whole of his testimony. Congregational piouty is consistent with scripture, where not divided or assembled according to sects but rather location. God’s economy, where just being God in His Spirit indwelling a regenerated man, is also sound. Albeit it’s of a particular wording. But I don’t find any fundamental error in it. It remains observantly true as a phrase according to the goal of God which is to work himself into the saints corporately. If you’re going to state or press forth concerns, it is better to do so diligently and forthrightly. Lee, even where viewed as an apostle commissioned saint, is still a man. As such while Lee and Nee’s writings are stressed through what is seen as edifying through them, his person is not elevated aside from what I’ve read in claim from dissenters. What’s more the local churches refer to themselves only according to their commonality of belief in local corporate fellowship, denouncing otherwise what are staples of sectarianism which can stumble individual believers. A “ground of oneness” as it relates to understanding God’s indwelling and localities in fellowship, is sound in theological thought. Perhaps there are tangents and offshoots with local fellowships going away from the common precedent found within local churches. That is entirely a possibility. That is not uncommon in the whole of Christendom either, as much as the whole of organized religion itself. However that is due to the moral agency of individuals themselves who lead within a fellowship. In the same way Nee cannot be held responsible for how solely self-aspiring teachers abuse his writings in Spiritual Authority, the same should be regarded with Lee. Lastly, I feel it right to say that if any man’s position of authority bothers a saint, then it’s God’s concern to receive that complaint. The Lord recognizes how there are times of temporary division, such as what Paul experienced in his ministry. Association or departure in a peaceful nature is what lies on the believer at that point. Holding onto enmity and abusing one’s own anger is only self-destructive.

Hank, as much as I disagree with you on a lot of issues, I commend you for the integrity you are showing - by not only admitting CRIs errors in judgment against the Local Church, but attempting to compensate for the misjudgment and disseminate that self-correction. It is damaging to a church to be accused of things speciously by Walter Martin, who carried a lot of influence - and included them as a cult, based on presumptions like Modalism. I remember the "Cheerful Defense" full-page articles that the Anaheim Local Church put in the OC Register to explain their innocence. There is a timeless message here, especially for those who today routinely falsely accuse churches without due diligence.

I have read Normal Christian Life and Sit, Walk Stand twice and am currently in Spitual Man. Last Year I read Spiritual Authority. It is important to note that Watchman Nee was saved in Methodist Revival Meetings and developed relations with Anglicans and members of the Plymouth Brethren. What you end up getting is a sort of low church evangelical take on Wesleyan theology that sometimes overlaps into moderate Pentecostalism with occasional doses of Darby style dispensationalism.

Well Jesus is Truth and he doesn’t have a problem with boots, but yes to the idea that misinformation can spread (perhaps like gossip) and may appear to be more attractive than truth. The "Lord´s Recovery" teaches it's dangerous to read the Word of God directly because you might misunderstand it. They say you should only know the Bible through the interpretation of a teacher and they exclusively follow and approve of only one teacher: Witness Lee (and W.Nee). They say he´'s the unique minister that God has appointed for the age, that only he had the complete, correct and current interpretation of the Bible, and that you cannot really understand the Bible outside of his teachings. That is unscriptural and divisive; "I am of Paul", "I am of Apollos", "I am of Lee". That is presumptuous, not honoring the Head or the Body and cultish.

Has not been my experience at all and I fellowship with many in the local churches. They have opened up the Bible in wonderful ways to me and never forced me to take any opinion. They like Nee and Lee just as you may enjoy Billy Graham and if you can find any other Christian authors who speak about such rich and deep items in the Bible then great for you, I have yet to find some so for now Lee and Nee it is! Their ministry has been a mercy to me and my family and no one has forced me into anything they just want me to love Christ and help others love Christ. Paul said if Christ is being preached then I rejoice and maybe we should all take this approach instead of slandering others.

Although my reading of the recovery Bible indicates that the group is against denominationalism, and believes that both the Catholic Church, and the protestant church are in error (along with the Jews), they are probably best classified as just another denomination. While speaking for the priesthood of all believers and against a system of mediation, such as priest and liaty, the main leaders (Nee and Lee) end up being followed by their laity! So if you consider that the essentials are there, and there is Grace for the nonessential differences, you won’t be too far off. The living stream folks can believe that Catholics are all wrong and the protestants are all wrong, but that just boils down to a difference of opinion. I’m a little offended by it because I think there will be some Catholics in heaven, and some protestants in heaven, and some living stream people there too… but I don’t think most would call this group a cult. It’s sort of a plymouth church thing to minimize organization and say it interferes with God’s economy- and of course, sometimes it really does.

I was a protégé, with no exclamation marks, and found the exhortation to silence my mind to be against Biblical teaching. I was recruited as a young leader (before the Answer Man's time) because of my intellect, yet was asked to silence it. When I started asking questions, I found my way out, and then about half the population of the Local Church did the same. Many came to me and asked what my thought process had been. Long story short, if someone tells you they have the "only way" they are a cult. Which is the local church.

I have met with local church saints since 1976, and I've NEVER heard anyone say "we are the only way." I'm just repeating the term "local church" in the way you phrased it. I have never been asked to silence it because of my intellect or discouraged from asking questions. Praise the Lord Jesus is the only way, truth and life. I saw a spiritual Father replacing our Heavenly Father in this place. My Father in Hevaen filled me with His Holy Spirit for the church and made me speak in power to the children who are held captive in this place. However there were so soaked in the doctrines and teaching that only Jesus will save them on the day of judgment. Because Jesus showed me some very genuine hearts loving the Lord truly and God said let the wheat grow with the weeds and on the last he will.collect the weeds and burn them saving the wheat in barns. He cannot do this now as it will hinder the harvest. I was asked to prophesy by the Holy Spirit. They even tried to make me prophesy against the Roman Catholic's Praise God the Lord showed me that they are not acting in love and are in darkness. And had the teaching of Balaam and Balak. The Lord gave me the word in Corthians to speak and saved me. I was terrified by the Spirits of death. I fear no evil for my God who is living lives in us. God raised an army in Arabia to fight against the Body they call which is not the Body. If the Body cannot love another member of the Body how can it be the Body of Christ. God is love and Jesus was sent as a ransom for many. He died for us. The church crucified Christ twice. Like Moses striked the rock twice and was not allowed to.enter the promise land. Yet, Jesus who lives in me is a God who forgives. So that none seee death but only life in abundance. The Satan scared me so You are going to recover the church. I said YES AND SAW WHAT Jesus did not the cross. Hallelujah! Jesus alone is the Lord of Lord and King of Kings. Only Jesus 's testimony is greater than all other testimony. We need not eat so much of the tree of knowledge of good and bad. For Jesus only said Believe in me. Everyone met Jesus only for a while. And they confessed they behold the glory of God. This is Jesus An entervounter with Him.may be short but leaves a lasting impression over our life that no other Spirit apart from Jesus Holy Spirit can touch His children who the Apple of His eyes. Such a great and mighty God I serve. No weapon that is formed against us shall prosper and every tongue that raises judgement against God 's children I refute. The end of living stream is what I saw was the house that was broken and now built in Christ. But the master was the Chineese person in white. I am not alone , my Father is with me and God filled me with the Spirit of truth to fight every battle in this place. It was Christ who.lead me to this place. A lady with eyes annoited for this church. After the work was completed God sadly took me out. For God said I am in control. Allow it. I with Jesus went through the cross. In every place the enemy tried evil.for me God turned it out for my good. Hosanna in the highest! The Lord will over throw the false and lying prophets. All that the Lord asked me to part and go where he took me I went all to the Glory of my Father in heaven. Jesus is coming soon to judge the living and the dead . No one who is in the Spirit of Watchman Nee can receive the Holy Spirit. God gives the Holy Spirit to the humble and send the rich empty. If the church thinks it is rich with so much knowledge, audio and there is no life it is waste. Jesus said the one who does the will of my Father are the true disciples. Not just the hearers. I pray constantly for all the churches around the world. For the overcomers to stand at the gates of the church and cry out for the forgiveness of sin and judgement soon. Christ Jesus is coming soon. To take His faithful ones.
