Amen! “May the Spirit reign supreme,” says the Lord. “But to you I only have one thing to say. I will make them like Egypt; they will be like Sodom and Gomorrah. For I do not show favoritism. Behold, I am coming like a thief in the night to commit acts of justice and to uphold My mercy.” Therefore, let the words of the prophet John hold true. At the end of the book of the Revalation, he declared that changing of any part of the text was off-limits. He declared, “I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.” This is what pleases the Spirit, that farmers’ wisdom and builders’ spirits may be elevated against those who conjecture about meaningless talk. To God, all other talk is meaningless. For when God comes, who will even care about the meaning behind these things. They are like smoke, just as the author of Ecclesiastes indicated. Therefore, fear the Lord and his work, and do not conjecture about when these things will take place; rather clothe yourself with righteousness just like those whom God clothes in this very same scroll.

If you are reading the book of Revelation and watching this video to try to grasp what you are reading, just know this: Accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, repent of your sins before the Lord, and try your best to live a righteous life with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and you will be just fine. Lily Martin You dont have to be a preacher or a pastor to be able to do something for God. Ask him what your purpose is for being brought on this earth. I haven’t found mine yet but I know that if you keep praying and obeying God’s word it will be revealed. He will guide you the right way. Spread the gospel to your friends or to your parents. Alpha Force your manner of speech betrays you. why use such language friend? i also find no fault in the Bible Projects interpretation of scripture. Particularly how the Bible is a wide reaching story of God’s redemptive plan for His constantly rebellious humans. It is quite beautiful. Not only that but it is a correct interpretation (Genesis 3:15). God is good, and desires humanity to be with Him once again. Jesus came not to condemn the world but to save it. I find many Christians these days “swat at a gnat yet swallow a camel” (23:34). In they embody almost every quality of a pharisaic Jew in the way of condemnation and judgement, interpreting the Gospel in such a way it seems as though it should inspire self-hatred and to put ourselves under and even greater burden than the law. Christ came to set captives free and the same is our obligation as His followers to believe this message of Hope and spread it. The guys here at Bible Project are doing a great service for the kingdom of God. Personally i use many of their videos to portray the Kingdom to outsiders as they show what a lovely beautiful story our Holy God’s redemptive plan truly is. This is the correct attitude or the “strait path” (Matthew 7:14)

Revelation is a book of warning, hope, justice and victory. It shouldn’t be taken as something only wrapped up in poetry and symbolism. It’s literal truth written for our illumination. Revelation is our hope as Christians. Revelation has always been my favorite book because it’s so blunt and honest, it doesn’t hold back and it tells it how it is. A pure representation of God himself! yes! The number one thing to keep in mind with Revelation that this is main focus point; the reveal of Jesus. You MUST keep that in mind when reading this book. If not, you will wrongly misinterpret crucial parts.

"Signified" means "shown". Strong's G4591. The same word is used in John 12:33. Jesus had just told them that He would be lifted up, signifying that He would be crucified. I don't think it's a word meaning the opposite of literal.

@@steev708 learn about spiritual warfare. After I did that I immediately lost my will to watch P0-rn and my depression left me. After I learned about it I felt the holy spirit. I watched multiple testimonies of people who came out of the new age and Isaiah Saldivar and John Ramirez. It’s scary but not so scary when you have Jesus and remember that Angels exist as servants of God, some of which are sent to protect us. But once my conscious understood that it was spiritual, I completely changed. I only had 2 urges so far but I beat those up. Stay strong.

Yes very true about all the different interpretations. We probably will be surprised at the actual outcome but will also see how well it fits what is written. Many in the past didn't see the fulfillment of scripture as it occured because it wasn't what they either wanted or expected. Jimbo Lawless That’s because the devils plan was/is to mimic the truth of God very, very closely so that people are tricked. Then introducing different views/interpretations within the scriptures, resulting in people with the same views getting together to set up a church. Multiply this over the generations and we see numerous different Christian denominations developing bringing divisions within the house of God. Bingo! Satan has used the age old military tactic of divide and conquer! As Ecclesiastes 1 v 9 says: there’s nothing new under the sun. The Old Testament tells us Gods plans for redemption, throughout it we see foreshadows of Christ in the Old Testament characters, and within there’s books of prophecy telling us how Christ Jesus, who was both fully God and fully man, would be born of a virgin, He’d be tortured and die on the cross for the sins of the world, defeating Satan and death to rise three days later. These books would also reveal the signs of the end times thousands of years before it would come to pass. God has done absolutely everything for us and He gave us the Bible, as written record everything and all we have to do is say “YES” to Jesus, by recognising ourselves to be sinners in need of a Saviour, repenting of all the things we have done wrong, confessing our sins and asking for Christ’s forgiveness, finally inviting Him into our life. This is not too much to ask. God still speaks daily to us, even now, about the things happening in the world today. Christ told us Himself about the end times and the tribulation period that will happen in the build up to the 2nd coming of Christ. This really speaks volumes about the last 100 years in which we developed air flight, space flight, computers. Science has found DNA and decoded it, they’ve split the atom and they have found particles at the tiniest levels, protons and quarks. They built the Hadron Collider at CERN to study these thing. Over time a vast number of scientists believe they’ve made God redundant. But, it is my view that God, having brought ALL things into existence, is a scientist, He was the very first scientist and, as we continue to advance in this field, science will one day prove God does exist. 🙏🙏🙏

Video did a great job giving a basic overview. There is so much more to the book I wish was reasonable to present in a comment section. I'll just give a few basic points. The book of Revelation is a twin book with Daniel. They both help unlock the other. Along with that the bible interprets itself. Many things can be understood by finding them in other books of the Bible. The 7 churches, seals, and trumpet cover the history of the church from Johns time to the return of Christ. Just from different perspectives. Some symbols to note. A woman represents a church. A beast a kingdom/ government/ political power A horn a king or kingdom within a the larger overall power the beasts represent. Bread, Wheat, Barley the Word of God Waters Many people, tribes, nations (Edit: I need to add- In bible prophecy a day equals a year. Also remember that a month in the Bible was 30 days. Can't believe I forgot to put this in) On the 144,000 This is the only time in Scripture that the names of the tribes appear in this order. Reuben, the firstborn of Jacob, is listed as second while Judah, fourth in birth order, is listed as first. Joseph and Levi are included, while Ephraim and Dan are left out. Names in the Bible have meaning. If you connect the meaning of each name it comes out like this: "I will praise the Lord for He has looked on me and granted good fortune. Happy am I because my wrestling God is making me to forget. God hears me and is joined to me. He has purchased me a dwelling. God will add to me the Son of His right hand."

Really the best thing anyone can do is to pick up an old style King James bible and a Strong's Exhaustive Concordance. The Bible will explain itself. If something isn't clear in one section it will be in another. And prayer. Pray for the Holy Spirits guidance as you search Gods word.

Incredible explanation although I do not agree with everything. What's sad is some of us will be satisfied with this explanation and won't bother to read the book of revelation. I think we make the book of revelation way too allegorical and complicated than it truly is. This book wasn't written for theologians and bible students but common, illiterate people too. I am surprised you doubt the authorship and allegorize the two witnesses. I am glad videos like these exist to spread the word but I think we mustn't get content with this. We need to study the bible ourselves and verify.

Niharika Prinsloo absolutely what I was feeling as well. This is a terrific very brief overview and leaves out some key details. I feel like it's great encouragement for people to sit down and take some serious time to read and speak with The Lord regarding His word. I wish that they would add that at the end to help encourage people to seek Him even more. All in all though, there are some wonderful pieces/explanations in here that moved my heart and brought me great joy when I was reminded of how Jesus has already conquered all through sacrifice. 10:35 *INCORRECT* Here it proclaims that they repent and give glory to God. The video uses Rev 11:13. But the verse Never says they repented but only submitted in fear. Then admitting defeat while in their fear by proclaiming God as conqueror. This doesn't mean they now choose to follow and obey God. Once their fear is gone they'll go to their wicked ways as before. *Rev 11:13(NIV) "At that very hour there was a severe earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven."*

This seems to be par for the course with them, sadly. The text cannot mean what it plainly says if it does not fit within their fixed narrative, so they either ignore it, allegorize it, or completely misinterpret it (as was the case here). It's usually pretty unfruitful to dive into KZbin comment sections, but after each video I look for a smidgen of hope that there are others who will act like the Bereans did and examine the Scriptures to see if what is taught here is true.

We all know that this early churches went into big churches like we all know today. Apocalypse is his main idea to wrote down the book. The video describes these early christians persecutions very well. It truly is amazing! So many parts talk about the end days. When you read them all as one story you see the bigger picture. It also provides so many more answers (not all of course) about Revelation. For example, read Daniel 11 for more info about the beast (aka the antichrist). Also, Matthew 24-25 to recognize the seasons changing. We will not the know the exact hour, but we can recognize when it's actually beginning.

It was the John that was one of the Disciples who wrote the book of Revelation. Prior to this, all the Disciples were persecuted and killed in different punishments for their faith and ministry. However no matter how they try and kill John, he doesn’t die (they even throw him into a boiling oil). So instead they banished and exiled him to the island of Patmos. That’s where God blessed and guided him to write the Revelation.

To me, I see the seals, trumpets and bowls as sequential events. The final "end days" will be a total of 7 years with the abomination of the desolation of the temple in Jerusalem being the midpoint (3.5 years in). I believe the first few seals will happen before the midpoint. These are the initial labor pains. Then we get into the final seals after that midpoint. The 7th seal releases the 7 trumpets, and the 7th trumpet releases the 7 bowls (the final wrath). The later trumpets and bowls are like the hard active labor pains. The pain intensifies and becomes more frequent. The main reason I believe it is sequential is because of God's mercy. But how is God releasing these travesties on the Earth merciful? He is giving His children as much time as He can to change their hearts. These catastrophic events will break everyone. He wants your heart to break so it will soften and you can finally "see" that Jesus is King. God is patient and like a true Father, He wants His children back home with Him so that we may reign as saints and inherit the Earth with the Son, Jesus Christ, in the new Eden.

The letter was written to 7 churches in first century Asia Minor (present day Turkey), not to us. John's visions are clearly of heavenly things, not Earthly. The tribulation mentioned in chapters 1 and 2 is the Greek work "thlipsei" which is properly translated as affliction or trouble, and it's clear from the text that John was referring to present circumstances. Is a future "tribulation" designed to bring people to faith in the person and work of Jesus? That's what the Gospel does. If not that, is it supposed to somehow purify the Church? That is the task of the Holy Spirit in the life of every believer. Blessings.
