James 5:14-16 King James Version 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Mark 5:25-34 KJV And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, when she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that [virtue] (holiness) had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

I started drinking when I was 16. I would drink at parties, but I also started drinking alone because I was unhappy, and I was in a lot of emotional pain all the time. My mom was very aggressive when I was younger, and my brother hated her and so did I. He started hanging out with shady people, he started failing all his classes, he was never home, and my parents fought all the time. I also ran away several times. I was always trying to figure out a reason as to why I was here or what the purpose of life was. So, I started looking at different philosophies, religions, and beliefs. When I was 18 after I was hungover, I got on my knees and I prayed for the first time. I asked if God was real that he would show me he was real because I couldn’t take it anymore. I was crying when I prayed for this. At that moment I felt a presence come over me like a wind. It was barely noticeable, but it was unlike anything in my life I had experienced up until that point. I was surprised when I felt it and I remember saying “what was that?” after that experience I pretty much forgot what happened and kept partying, until my senior year when I got arrested. After my arrest, my parents lost all their trust in me and I was expelled from high school. I was told never to come back. At that time, I felt afraid and hopeless. That’s when I started looking for God, and I prayed that he would reveal himself in my life and that he would give me signs. My prayers began getting answered so consistently that I couldn’t deny that God was doing something. It was mysterious and compelling. I ended up in Church and started reading the bible hours a day. I stopped hanging out with all my other friends because they were continually getting arrested. I was able to forgive my family and myself and to ask to be forgiven. I noticed how at Church people were judgmental and how they formed cliques but were afraid to be around anyone else different from them. It increased my faith because I realized Jesus was not like that and ever since I was young, I saw people as people regardless of who they were. After a while, it’s like I could see God's presence was in my life and then it felt like he wasn’t, and then he was, and then he wasn’t. One day I woke up and felt more depressed than I ever have in my entire life. I felt like I was dying on the inside. That night I prayed, and I said, God, I don’t see my life five years from now I'm going to die Jesus save me Lord, please save me. I was weeping when I said it and when I asked him to save me, I felt a presence inside of me like a heartbeat, and I felt it once like a pulse, and I said Lord please save me and I felt it again even stronger. It was like radiance. When I woke up the next morning, I had transformed everything felt brand new like I was a kid again. All my fears and all my racing thoughts everything was gone. I looked at my hands, and I said this can’t be real it’s impossible. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw a different person. I started praying, and the holy spirit became entirely real to me it was washing over me and inside of me. It was total love and peace, and I heard a voice but not an audible one, it was an inner voice. It said I am with you; I love you, I will never leave you, it’s done it’s finished. That was May 3rd, 2009, and ever since then I’ve followed God, I have seen many things change and many things I know wouldn’t have changed without faith and belief. I know what it’s like to be lost to feel you have no hope. Don’t ever think you’re stuck, or life can’t change because it can. My mom is a Christian now, Its night and day. Some of the things that went away during that period were severe anxiety and my addiction to alcohol. I’ve seen and experienced so many things that are miraculous and seen how God has worked in my life. When we ask God to forgive us for what we’ve done and turn away from our sins and wrongdoings and we believe in Christ's sacrifice everything changes. His word says if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that he died and rose again we will have eternal life but not just life after death but abundant life in the present. Our sins are erased not only past, present, and future but our burdens and fears are lifted also. Our thoughts, our minds, our hearts, our souls are transformed and united with God and we know his spirit lives in us. If you seek, pray, and knock you will know JESUS IS KING!!! HE LIVES!

This touched me because Im in the same crossroads you were in when younger. It's been a very very chaotic tragic confusing and heartbreaking year and a half for my and my family, im 24, grew up christian but ultimately rebelled against God last year, and did all types of wildness simply to gain pleasure, life was so so tragic at that time that I wanted to feel good, which was a bad idea, however life was completely out of my control with bad news that i though God simply forgot about me and family at one point. Then May this year i've accepted Jesus intimately in my life, my entire mind and perspective and life changed really, i truly saw my sins for what they were, and Jesus for who he truly is. Now i'm saved and I do love Jesus with all my heart....however, im still dealing with the emotional and mental consequences of what happened this year ( September 2019 - March 2020) was a very very crazy and sad time in my life) , and im also currently mourning my fathers death this March, thankfully God took away my brokenheart when i cried to him ( i've never ever shed tears and prayed before) but when my father passed this year i was so heartbroken on top of all the other tragic things happening simultaneously, that i legit cried my heart hurt so so much and then the verse "God is close to the Broken Hearted) kept ringing in my head, i prayed a serious prayer and he truly truly healed me, i was so shocked! Normally i couldn't go a day without crying, suddenly i was at peace even though it only happened 3 months ago during that time. Now its September 2020 and life is still not exactly how it should be, we still dealing with things and i fell back again into Weed, I just feel my spirit is so weak, i was so on fire for God couple months ago ,fasting and praying, putting God first. Now I just feel so so confused on where i. should go in my life, I know wherever it is, Jesus is with me, nonetheless i feel like im in a limbo. I constantly fall short and sometimes i feel God will grow so so tired of my ways and just punish me or something idk man. It's a strange one, I've only accepted Jesus recently, Rome wasn't built in a day, so I still have strongholds and addictions and ways i need to change, it's just so difficult sometimes. This Jesus walk although amazing it aint easy, it's so narrow and killing your flesh daily fighting temptations can be very tasking sometimes, ESPECIALLY when you're in a stressed environment all around you, like sometimes i just need a smoke. although I'm fully aware that it's pointless when Jesus is the ONLY thing on this earth that will ever give me full satisfaction....i sin anyways....

@@Thejdreamerzful I understand sometimes when you're hurting its easy to steer yourself in a direction that isn't good. I’m sorry for your loss. You're going to have a great testimony when you get through this. You're going to help others who have lost loved ones. Even reading what you said right here is inspiring to me. It's okay to struggle. God sees and knows. Were all going to fall short. You recently lost your father it’s okay. I've felt that way before too. I don’t think God will punish you, sometimes were just punished by our own actions. God knows that we will be harmed by our decisions but a lot of the harm that’s done to us is caused by us. I stopped smoking after my arrest. I smoked cigarettes to help cope. I also prayed for God to take away my desire to smoke if it was his will. It lost its appeal not long after, I wanted to honor God and obey the law. “All things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose” ALL THINGS. God allows things to happen to allow us to grow, to learn, and to turn away from things that will harm us. It’s not always easy to follow God. It’s difficult to carry the cross, it’s very easy to throw a stone from a crowd. What helped me a lot was listening to worship music. God will bring you where he desires you to be in time. It took me 10 years to even start sharing my testimony with people the way I am. You will never stop growing as a believer. You will have times when God feels distant. You are meant to save others. You are meant to stop their suffering because there are others like you. People who have lost their Mothers or Fathers, Brothers, Sisters. All over the place, these people are crying out asking who is going to intervene for them and it’s you. Heroes are not born in a day. I’ll be praying for you.

However 1 Cor 7:12-16 shows IF a married couple is in this situation, the believer was joined as One flesh and if then becomes a believer, must not abandon the unbelieving spouse. 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8 says a believer must purify themselves. 1 John 3:2-3 he that has the hope of seeing God at his second coming, must purify himself like Jesus.

I think the power is in the nature of Jesus. "Name" generally meant that, back then -- nature, not someone's name like you use to greet them. There is a story in Acts chapter 19 of a man who misunderstood this. He was using Jesus' name to expel demons, but the demon, also mentioning "Jesus" in the conversation, said to him that he's doing it wrong. It did not go well for the guy, because he did not have the nature of Jesus within him. He was not sharing in the divine nature, as spoken of in Romans 1:20 and 2 Peter 1:4. The demon had no problem with saying Jesus' name back to the man trying and failing to banish it using that name. But the divine nature of Jesus, oh yes this that demon would have been severely allergic to. Very severely. Jesus was named so because of his nature -- that he would save his people from their sins. We read this in the first chapter of Matthew (i.e., 1:21), don't we. But in light of Acts 19, apparently there is a difference between describing the nature, which is to say Jesus' name, and having the nature, which is to say having Jesus inside you as in the last chapter of Matthew (i.e., 28:20).

If you know anything about the crucifixion of Jesus, he asked that the cup be taken from him. In other words, he prayed to His Father that he not need be tortured and crucified. But he knew that in order to cleanse the world of Death and sin that he must himself first die. Even there on the cross, he asked the Lord to forgive the people who put him there "for they know not what they do". His death fulfilled prophecy and his rise defeated Death. A little torture is nothing compared to the love he showed us all that day.

Yes, Israel sinned and had to suffer exile and death like adam and eve, but as the TORAH DOES SAY (all over! in fact, it is the central theme of the bible!): Israel will one day repent and come back to God and continue to serve God according to the Torah WHICH CAN NEVER CHANGE!!!! (as stated EXPLICITLY ALL OVER!). The Torah is THE TREE OF LIFE as stated ALL OVER THE BIBLE! One day Israel and all of Man will return to God according to the Torah and eat from tree of Life and LIVE FOREVER BASKING IN THE DIVINE ENERGY OF GOD!!!!!!!!! The bible DOES NOT SAY ANYWHERE about some random guy dying on a tree and being the new tree of life. That is TOTALLY MADE UP!! LIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Golden Calf to trick the nations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Follow the TORAH - the revealed will of God (which EXPLCITY STATES that it will never be annulled) - THAT IS THE TRUE TREE OF LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not some MADE UP LIES!!!!!!!!!

Mr. Dunbar, Although their may be no Archeological evidence of the sacrifice of Christ. Their is reference to his existence in the writings of the Roman historian Josephus. His sacrifice is something we choose to believe by FAITH and receive his teachings of love. In regards to your point of sacrificing animals, do you not eat beef? or poultry? Do you not eat of the SACRIFICES of these animals daily? To our faith God is creator of EVERYTHING, can a creator not wish to destroy something or do with it as he wishes, as YOU do with your belongings. In reference to your claim of mistreating women, the Apostle Paul with the teaching he received from Christ clearly invites men in the book of ephesians to treat theyre wives with love and respect. Just as Christ treated his church.

Hebrews 12,29: “For our God is a consuming fire.” -- to sin. All sin burns in God's holy presence. All contrary to God's character of love is annihilated in God's fiery presence. God is eternal and the eternal fire that consumes the wicked in the end is God's holy presence. It is for this reason we cannot see God. God said to Moses that nobody can see God's face and live. It is because God's face is perfectly beautiful and pure.
@morgant.dulaman87334 жыл бұрын
It's interesting to compare how when contrasted to sin and filth, God is a consuming fire, purifying it from the repentant while the reprobate burns in its presence, yet His holiness is also a stream of living water, bring life and rest to all who partake.

Sun as a METAPHOR! Be careful. There are idolatrous religions that actually worship the sun (the one in the sky that warms our planet). The sun is a created star, NOT the Creator. Right! Had this thought some time ago. Jesus being such awesome Purity (Holiness, if you like) that does not ever get dirty or spoiled when touched by dirt (sin) but the other way round - makes any dirt He touches clean again. That does't normally happen in nature. If you want to clean one thing, you need to waste another. But what Jesus does is touch our dirt and clean it away without being at least affected. Marvelous, isn't it?

Well as explained in other Bible Project videos regarding an explanation of 'The Messiah' and 'The Sacrifice and Atonement,' fortunately (!!) the Messiah has risen from the dead and ascended back to the Father in eternity to serve as our high priest forevermore. This means that those who were waiting on redemption forward and backward of the Messiah's sacrifice, can partake of it. Time and space thus become irrelevant for all you who desire freedom from that dread sin-slaver, for now the eternal God has become your redeemer and all know that no one and nothing -- not Time and not Space -- can stop His hand. The eternal Father has promised so to his very Son.
@AlsteinLe8 жыл бұрын
Guess the people who say Jesus is coming soon are wrong and the rapture.
@DPtheOG8 жыл бұрын
+AlsteinLe A valid question to ask is whether those who came before believed the Lord could return at any time, whether the Twelve Disciples believed. Many scriptures can be interpretated to say "yes" but there is a glaring "no" scripture, in John 21:18. This was where Christ informed Peter that he would grow old. Thus the other scripture must be read differently, if all the disciples knew from God personally that their earthly leader would grow old. When doing this reinterpretation maneuver, I have found traces from the 1800s, notably Dr. Scoffield's time, and one incident in the 600s, where an imminent Rapture was taught. There are few other cases, those soaked in obvious other heresies. Perhaps we should stop thinking of the Bible with a Western mindset, and remember the many Middle Eastern contexts with the Jews who always knew tribulation was for the chosen, like silversmithing: More and more pressure, more and more heat, until the Smith can see His reflection in you.
@AlsteinLe8 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I got nothing from that. So there's no answer? or are you telling me to think like the middle eastern people. What would they say? that Jesus is not coming back until 2017?

I hope to be a foundational man of faith, a true testament when this is over...my heart is broken, my future is unclear, but my faith is growing stronger as I surrender it all to Him. MLSxEazoon Well, I don't want to hurt either. And if the world is in a fire shall we say. Fire being pain. Then either Jesus, because he is God, is either unwilling to get the world out of the fire, he does not know the world is in the fire or he is not able to get the world out of the fire. Which is it?
@Eazoon9 жыл бұрын
SlaveofChrist I've been asking that same question all week, and then I read Ezekiel 18:30-32: “Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, each according to his conduct,” declares the Lord God. “Repent and turn away from all your transgressions, so that iniquity may not become a stumbling block to you. Cast away from you all your transgressions which you have committed and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! For why will you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies,” declares the Lord God. “Therefore, repent and live.” I'm not saying that the pain in your life is all because you are sinning, but rather that the power of the enemy in this world is the sins of mankind, who resist God and therefore suffer and cause suffering needlessly. Though there is often nothing you can do about the pain, "resist the enemy, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world." (1 Peter 5:9)
