In Numbers, Israel leaves Mt. Sinai only to rebel against God at every step. God responds with short-term severity and long-term generosity as He leads them into the promised land. #Numbers #BibleProject #BibleVideo

Great video! One critique though: Mt. Sinai is quite definitely in modern day Saudi Arabia (Jebel al-Lawz) . The traditional site in the misnamed Sinai Peninsula has virtually no archaeological evidence to support its claim. Whereas Jebel al-Lawz has overwhelming evidence. Plus, the logistical issues make a whole lot more sense (sea crossing, split rock of Horeb, etc.).

The story repeats itself in our everyday lives. I find myself complaining when things don’t go my way or the way I planned them to go or don’t happen when I was expecting them to happen. God has is own plans and works in his mysterious ways and on his time but in the end he always keeps his promises.
@Ruffles7293 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Just like Israel, I think often times we have to spend long periods in the wilderness to get to the Promised Land. It’s so easy to complain but really we should be thankful. God is so patient with His people and He does not give up on them, just like how He doesn’t give up on us now.

I’ve been a Christian for about a year and I am that weirdo who reads Scripture EVERY SINGLE DAY and I pray before reading, because it is so complicated and difficult to understand in moments, but these short videos really encapsulate the bigger picture and help a lot with all the years of programming that “God is just brutal and vindictive.” (I was, and surrounded myself with vehement atheists, modern-day witches, pagans, etc.) It started with Jesus and His teachings revealing to me much of what I had already felt somewhere deep inside. Now, I’m studying more of the rich history of God and how He has always been faithful AND just in His ways. It’s sometimes so hard for my naturally hard, skeptical, and proud heart, but I’m so grateful for scholarly people who are always willing to go in-depth to reveal God’s nature in the Bible. God bless you all. Peace and grace be with you in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ!

@@agadirand4four347 Jesus proclaims many times in the Bible that He and the Father are one. Jesus is God in the flesh, He loves you and is always waiting for you with open arms.
@ofureokieimen2 жыл бұрын
@@agadirand4four347 When Jesus said that, He was not comparing his nature with that of God the Father. Rather he was comparing their positions. He Was Lesser In Position when He came to Earth. When Jesus came to earth he came in the form of a servant, to die for the sins of the world and to redeem us. This is also known as His humiliation. The fact that Jesus took on a human nature and made Himself subservient to the Father in no way denies the deity and lordship of Jesus. Jesus Christ is God and is the only way to receive salvation, there are a number of scriptures to back this up. Jesus loves you ❤️

I thought so, too... thinking of a cross seen from afar moving in an organized formation. It must have been a pleasant sight to GOD in the highest and, at the same time, an approaching threat to the pagans far away, having heard all the Divine miracles this multitude had experienced and the presence of GOD all the way.

Way back in 1965 or so in Indonesia, an evangelist had to pull over when driving as the Holy Spirit told him to send a specific amount of money to a pastor he never knew of a particular church in a different town. That pastor happened to be my father. He had been praying with his family when in need for some money and nothing seemed to have happened until they received the check from an unknown person. To cut it short, my mom counted all the expenses and donations from their relatives a few days later and came up with a surplus at an amount exactly the same as that transferred by the unknown sender, even to the cents!! GOD does make a way when there seems to be no way... in HIS time and way!

Excellent work! I love how when they speak of the Manna they say "what is that stuff"? Lol. Because the word Manna actually means "What is it?" In Hebrew. Obviously on purpose which is very clever humor which I love. The Bible is completely true. Even the most "scientifically impossible" parts of the Bible are true. I used to doubt it all but the Lord is the Inventor and Master/Maker of all science not to mention the very elements themselves are of His creation. He can literally turn off the sun like a light switch while keeping earth in a livable state. He can do the impossible in our physical universe because He is Master of all elements and the Sustainer of all LIFE. It's in Him we move and have our being so its by Him we live. I was a suicidal drug dealer/addict. I overdosed many times trying to kill the pain of my existence but each time God sent someone to find me dying and call an ambulance. Jesus took all my pain away. He has never failed me though I have failed Him over and over. He allows bad things to happen so that we might come to the end of ourselves and turn back to Him and be saved forever. All those rules He gave us were for our health and benefits. So that we might not be hurt terribly over and over. I chose a hard way. I'm very thankful that God saved me. So many of my best friends were murdered or overdosed and died. I wish I could tell them what I know now. Jesus loves you more than any words can adequately express. Find Him seeker for better help you will not find. May God bless you exceedingly abundantly beyond all you see or imagine. P.S. I practiced witchcraft for years it made me very mentally sick and made my pain worse while inviting demons into my life to torment me. I have studied many religions but real Christianity is a relationship with Jesus Christ/Yeshua Messiah it is REAL and it's the only true path to God. Jesus said: I am the Way the Truth and the Life no one comes to the Father but through Me." He was simply stating exactly the way it was and is. All other religions lead to Hell/Sheol and none of them can even be accomplished in every situation. Like you cannot reach nirvana and meditate while your in a prison camp. You see? Only Jesus can be reached in EVERY situation and only He deals with the massive problem of sin. He died so that you might be able to live forever. And real love is sacrifice! He sacrificed Himself so that you might live. But the grave and hell could not hold Him. Because of who He is. Jesus has dominion over every depression every addiction and every disease. Jesus even has dominion over death itself. He can heal you and fill your heart with peace and joy! The Lord healed my body from epilepsy. He healed my mind from terminal depression and many mental illnesses. And He healed my heart from death and sin! There is no case too hard for Him! Find Him! Read the Bible and pray to Him and be set FREE. Many large churches have fallen away from God. The catholic church is a false Church. Yet their still remains a group of real true Holy Spirit filled Christians in the earth! Praise Lord God! Nothing can change that I told the truth today.

I lost the mother of my 3 children 4 and a half years ago due to a fentanyl laced bag of heroin. My life has never been the same since. I have huge boulders I carry around w me everyday of my life because of all I've been through and decisions I've made. I've done my time w drugs and alcohol and have been not been addicted to either in 4 and a half yrs now and my life is harder now than it ever has been. I can write books on my life and what I've gone through. Yet, I've felt belittled, embarrased, depressed, ...I've had 1, 2week long failed attempt at a relationship since losing cheryl 4.5 yrs ago. I have a desire I cannot explain of which I want to learn ...learn as much as I can... I do feel we are all here for a reason. I have no idea why I've been waking up like this for the past year of my 37 yrs on earth so far.

I love how even the layer of Israel's camp looks like the cross if seen from above. God is perfect. Very elaborate signs.
@OriZielonka7 жыл бұрын
Too bad it wasn't shaped like that. It was more like a square with three tribes in each side. It is Christian bias. Btw the conclusion of this book is not that the people of Israel were bad, as much as that after all G-d will never abandon them nor he will replace them, like the church claimed for centuries. (until the establishment of the state of Israel which proves that)
@ilmpyt7 жыл бұрын
Which church said God replaced Israel? That's heresy. Read Romans 9 to 11 and you'll see God hasn't forsaken His people. True Christians love Israel and pray for Jerusalem's peace (Psalms 122:6).
@OriZielonka7 жыл бұрын
I'm happy to hear that this is your belief, yet historically the theory of replacement was pretty much the core of christian ideology until recently: ...Search for Supersessionism in Wikipedia (For some reason, the holocaust is referred there as the reason for the "Nostra Aetate" while it is clear that the return of the Jews to the holy land as the prophets foresaw, is the real reason. Furthermore, during the holocaust antisemitic pope of that time viewed it as a proof for the displacement of the Jews, as quoted in the article, again without mentioning this very clear connection...)
@OriZielonka7 жыл бұрын
Believe me I am not looking for my spiritual answers in Wikipidia... Nevertheless, let me assume that the quotation of the pope I mentioned is not faked, neither is the whole history of christian persecutions of the Jewish people. Israel cannot be replaced, because g-d promised he wont change his plan, as you called it. It is Israel's job to bring the real, just, faith to the many nations you mentioned. (I hope I am doing well here ;) BTW, you might actually pointed something very interesting here: The Christianity is dividing and contrasting between the spiritual and the physical, while the Jewish main faith is possibly uncovering the harmony among both.

Thank you so much for these videos, I have been studying my bible this past year with more emphasis on the Torah since I had avoided it for so long. But now I’ve realized that the books that have convicted me and have allowed me to see how perfect and loving God is are the books of the Old Testament. I guess it makes sense since that’s what the New Testament characters had. A whole new world has opened up to me and you guys have been such a huge part of changing my life by giving us these tools. Thank you, God bless.
